I saw Dr. Merrill on several occasions following an episode of illness that left me with "IBS". I didnt know to ask for a stool test. I told him that I had become suddenly ill and following that couldnt stop the constant bowel trouble I was having. He never ordered a stool test - but he did suggest I get a colonoscopy. I got the colonoscopy and he said everything was normal and that I just had "IBS". He pushed meds that didnt help at all - which I later found out were bandaids for the real problem. Met a doctor who knew exactly what was happening years later. Come to find out I had contracted giardia and what I was experiencing was a severe bacterial imbalance that was only getting worse and actually causing leaky gut and eventually autoimmune problems. Dr. Merrill is a nice guy - but I dont think he really understands gut biology. I wasted a lot of valuable time and money seeing him. I emailed him about all of this and he never responded to me.

Dr. Merrill is a terrific physician -- BUT having to wait on hold when I call his office to make an appointment, with the same message (thanking me for my patience) playing over and over again, for 30 minutes+ without anyone ever answering is frustrating beyond description. Ive called several times with the same experience -- and still cant make an appointment because I cant reach a human being. Will someone PLEASE call me so I can make an appointment? Thanks!

Dr Merril is a very good doctor, he was successful in treating my illness.He was very attentive and pro active in treating my illness.I would recommend him to anyone seeking a excellent doctor.

Terrific physician-just very difficult making an appointment. Perhaps his scheduler needs help.
