I came to this office in a wheelchair delirious with pain and shaking while filling out the paper work. The doctor was ok, nothing special or extra ordinary but after I left the office it took them several days to send the authorization to the referral company who then took 3-5 days to process it and get me in touch with a physical therapist... in the mean time Im in excruciating pain and had to find baby sitters for my two little kids because I could not lift them out of the crib. I called the office several times trying to speed up the process but it didnt help. Fast forward two months later I get a notice from a collections agency saying I never paid them! I never even received a bill from their office! So I called their billing department and basically what happened is I had written the right address down but the receptionist just kept my address from two years ago that just happened to be in the system in there and did not update it so when they sent me a bill it was sent back to them so they sent me to collections. They fixed it and everything but then gave me a lecture on how I needed to make sure the receptionist put in the right address etc... After that I was done. When I go to a doctors office and Im in so much pain, emotional and stressed, worrying about the receptionist doing her job is the last thing I need. I want to feel like they are there to help me and make my situation better but instead they dragged their feet and made mistakes making a horrible situation for me worse. We will not ever be going back to their office or referring anyone else there.

I first went to Todd Schauers for anxiety and antidepressants medication, complete with a full history of my mental health and panic disorder. He listened to me and for the most part I liked him. That quickly changed when I tried desperately to get ahold of him for a new prescription of my anxiety medication for 6 days. I first spoke with his medical assistant Bev, who reprimanded me for letting me get to the point of running out, even though it was Bev I spoke with originally to ask for a new prescription and she never bothered to call me back to let me know there was a problem refilling it or that I would need to schedule an appointment, even after asking if I needed to. I had an awful weekend ridden with anxiety and panic and it wasnt able to be a mom to my two little girls. The "Dr" finally called back after 6 days of trying to get ahold of him to tell me that my 4 messages were excessive, accused me of lying and not calling his office 6 days before and then proceeded to hang up on me. I ended up in the emergency room for a panic attack and promptly got myself a new doctor. A full week after he hung up on me I received a certified letter in the mail letting me know that he was releasing me as a patient for failure to comply with his recommendations despite his best efforts. I would NEVER recommend Todd Schauers for any type of Dr visit requiring empathy or compassion. Awful, horrible "Dr" and person in my honest opinion. Ive contacted the medical board to help warn future patients of this man. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.

We have been going to Dr. Kirstines practice since she opened - at least 30 years - because my wife wanted a female doctor. The clinic has moved and expanded several times. It was originally named Jordan Valley Family Health but a few years ago shortened the name. I have been treated by several of the medical staff (when I wanted to see a Dr. and my regular Gp. was booked up in my time frame) and all of them have been really great. ....but Todd Schauers is the one I have been seeing usually for the last (at least) 16 years. My wife has been so impressed that when Dr. Kirstein retired she switched to Todd. Todd is not an Md. but a "physicians assistant" but I am constantly being amazed at his depth of medical knowledge. My sons, one a nurse-anesthesist and one an oncologist at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake have several times referred us to back to Todd for treatments because he is more "up-to-date" on the peculiarities of family practice general medicine than they (both specialists) are. Todd is a warm and friendly sort, too, who makes us feel confident to take his treatment recommendations (which have been spot-on so far). He has often referred us to specialists when needed (no one Dr. can know everything, after all) - one of which found a brain tumor that I then had successfully removed at the University of Utah Hospital. My symptoms had baffled several other doctors (my family and my wifes are full of them) that we had consulted informally (mostly at family gatherings). Needless to say my wife and I are big fans.

Jordan Family Health is a wonderful clinic! I called to get an appointment and was able to be seen the very same day. I saw Todd Schauers, who is a physicians assistant, and he is excellent! He really took his time with me and made me feel very comfortable. I only waited in the waiting room for less than 5 minutes before the medical assistant called me back to be seen-- thats pretty incredible!! One of the best things about this clinic is that it has X-ray available on site, which was very convienent since I was there for a foot injury. It definitely saved me money and an extra trip somewhere! Everyone I encountered at my visit was very friendly and helpful, and its one of the biggest reasons I would recommend this clinic to anyone!!

On my last visit they had to work me in. I mistakenly went to visit my Dr for something should be diagnosed by the optometrist instead. The good part is that I was getting sick that day as I traveled there and my Dr discovered my fever and swollen glands. She prescribed what I needed and I was getting very sick by the time I picked up my meds. I was so glad she took that time with me instead of just sending me off to to the optometrist. I needed to see the optometrist the next morning so he was also happy that I was on meds and well enough to see him. I have loved Jordan Family Health since the first time I visited when my kids were young. A special note: Michelle King is fantastic.

After Dr. Kirstein retired and her replacement quit the clinic they referred my to Dr. Piacitelli. After having the appointment for 3 months and them sending me in for my lab work the week before, 3 days before my appointment they called and proceeded to tell me that Piacitelli was not taking on any of Dr. Kirsteins old patients, seems funny being how they are the ones that referred me to her. I have been a long time patient of JVFH but the are really starting to decline in professionalism since Dr. Kirstein left. Do yourself a favor if you are thinking about being a patient there dont. Dr Kirsteins replacement was only there for about a month when he saw the light and moved on.
