In 14 years my pack and I called many towns home,and we took many road trips from the beaches of the west coast the Sierra Foothills of California, the Puget Sound and surrounding islands supplied us wondersous sights, the trip we took across this great nation was just full of adventure and breathtaking sights. Our last trip through the New England States fall season was fulfilling. I was getting tired and felt weak but I loved my pack and did not want to leave. I felt comfort in knowing that my masters had chosen the best care, Dr. Segl, I always felt comfort and secure with her, I was never nervous as I was with others. I felt her compassion, and tender caring touch, she knew me. When I became to weak to go on and my pack did not want me to go ahead, I asked her to tell them it was time for me to make the next trip on my own. Dr. Segl gently conveyed my last words, and she did it with the most compassion I had witnessed. I was grateful for Dr. Segl I was able to go ahead of my pack and prepare for them the next journey I will have found the best meadows, rivers and hills and will greet my left behind pack with all the joy and love they gave me, and I will also be there at the Bridge to greet Dr. Segl with all the animals she cared for to welcome her to our new world. Dr. Segal has managed to literally "wow" ALL of my neighbors here in Fairfax. Comparing notes - everyone raves. That says a LOT to me. Wed found Alpha about 2 yrs ago as we faced geriatric cat issues. We have cats (young and old) & a new toy-breed puppy. In my community -- it turns out, all of us feel the same way: Not a number! The guy below is right - the Best - "born to do this job"... She cares about our babies and remembers them as unique individuals. What I appreciate the most is that Dr. Segal takes the time to know you and each pet. She brings wisdom and seasoning that only comes w/time and experience. She has a very pragmatic approach filled w/common sense, never too much and never too little. You feel like you and your loved one REALLY matter! She always exhibits a focus and concern for the BEST solution for your pet. Shes quick to return calls (for us, recently -- multiple times), her staff has been MOST helpful and accomodating and she has a way of making your pet comfortable and calm immediately. You too :-) Along w/ with the seriousness of addressing your needs - you can always count on a lightheartedness, and sense of humor that makes EVERY visit a great experience! Cannot reccomend highly enough!!!!!!!!!!!

I started going to Alpha Animal Hospital in October of 2011 after moving to Western Fairfax County and not wanting to have to drive into Alexandria to my dogs old vet. I am SO glad I decided to do so!!! After doing some research on the various vets in the area and seeing the positive reviews, I decided to give Dr. Segos practice a shot. Long story short, my dog had a series of illnesses one after the other, (some of which had occurred with my old vet and my dog had some of the same symptoms with my old vet) Dr. Segl decided to test my pup for diabetes. Turns out, thats exactly what it was! She was completely honest with me in that she hadnt seen too many diabetic dogs (plenty of diabetic cats) and she was going to do her research and consult with other vets to give my pup the best treatment possible. She has been so supportive, even calling me one time after hours to help me get started with my dogs treatment, and is just such a pleasure to work with. I really feel like were working as a team on this treatment, and not only does she give advice, but shes also willing to listen as well. Her team is really great, too! Very friendly and always helping out. So glad I found Alpha Animal Hospital! :)

I used to work in Fairfax when I first adopted my puppy so at the time, taking him to see Dr. Segyl at Alpha Animal was pretty convenient. After having him home from the rescue for about a week, he was still lethargic and hadnt cheered up like I thought he would and a few days later a large mass appeared on his shoulder which turned out to be an infection. Dr. Segyl promptly took him into surgery and the little guy was almost immediately more playful, happy, and puppy-like after having the nasty infection cleared out. The follow-up exams were given routinely and since his health has recovered, every visit has been a pleasure (for us and the dog!). I currently live in Falls Church/Arlington and no longer work in Fairfax so it is borderline inconvenient to make the drive out to Fairfax when our dog needs a checkup, but Dr. Segyl is worth every mile driven! .

I know youre probably heard this before, but this time its true. Seemingly random chance brought me to Alpha the first time - we had just moved up the road and I was getting a coffee at Starbucks (in the same "mini-mall") one morning and saw Dr. Segls office. I needed to get my furry kids checked up so I made an appointment. I was impressed from the minute I set foot in her office and nothing has changed in the past 2 years. You know how some people are born to do a job? Dr. Segl is born to work with animals. She treats every animal Ive seen her with with love and compassion - she treats them just like Id treat my own. Her office is clean, modern and well equipped and she is always up on the latest trends in veterinary medicine. I dont think I can recommend her enough - like the title says, Alpha Animal Hospital is the best.

Thank God I found Dr. Segl. Ive lived in Fairfax County for 20 years and have never found her equal. Shes concerned, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. She goes the distance to provide the best health care for our three furry children using the latest scientific research yet shes wonderfully down to earth and practical. Her advice and insight in all matters relating to our kids is a huge comfort and I trust her implicitly, not easy when I myself have a health care background and have often been disappointed or worse. Alpha Animal Hospital is a complete and immaculately clean hospital with its own laboratory and x-ray equipment, which we have used many times. I sleep well knowing that Dr. Segl is our veterinarian. Ive been seeing Dr. Segl for several years now and she has been excellent. I visit with the two species of birds I share my home with. Ive noted she does not over-prescribe and, in my opinion, tends to use a conservative approach whenever possible. For certain aspects involving more complex avian surgery she might consider referring me to a different specialist, i.e., she keeps the best possible outcome for the patient in mind, which I appreciate. My brother and his wife have informed me they like to visit this hospital for their somewhat elderly cat. She also seems to have clients visit with exotic creatures such as geckos, etc. I would strongly recommend this veterinarian and Ive done so with several coworkers and friends.
