I am having trouble with the rating. I cant decide between 3 or 4 stars. What I liked: The service was exceptional. We took one of our cats in because he had cloudy eyes and we brought in our dog at the same time for her annual check-up. The vet was very knowledgeable, she explained all the possible causes for the cloudiness in the cats eyes (blood testing would rule out a few) and gave us eye drops. When I explained that it would be easier for the blood to be drawn while we were in the room - she was more than willing to draw blood in the exam room (he acts like you are pulling toes out if he is taken to the back of any vet office). The check up was quick, easy, and the dog was cooperative. She gave us a lot of information about what kinds of vaccines are available and she did not push any unneccessary vaccinations since she explained the situations for why it would be necessary to have X vaccine for a dog. (Aka - we left with only her rabies which was due at the time) What I didnt like: However, the building is rather small. I am sure the rent is less expensive to stay there or the building is paid off - but I hope that they are thinking about looking at other spaces. Employees walked through our exam room in order to leave for the day. Employees had to double park and trap each other in so that patients could park their cars in the parking lot. Those who board their pets would be dissappointed with the space for their animal. As someone who just moved from the midwest - the price is fairly expensive. We understand that being in the metro area, the price will be more - but this is a warning for those who are also new to the area. We found vet reciepts from our previous vet in the midwest for the exact same exam for the dog (rabies, blood test, stool sample, general check-up). This current exam was almost three times more than what we had paid previously. All and all - the service was amazing. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I just hope they move into a bigger space.

I brought my two cats to this vet for years, but always for routine care, and there were no problems until one of my cats became sick. At that point, I felt as though I had become a personal cash cow for Dr. Goldfarb, who managed to charge me exorbitant amounts of money while never healing my sick kitten. When I would call and express my concerns about my cats continued illness, Dr. Goldfarb would brush me off and tell me it was nothing, even when I brought him IN to the vet for follow up, because I was still concerned. I finally brought my cat to another vet (after 4 trips in a month to Dr. Goldfarb, including one over-the-weekend stay in the cat hospital which resulted in a $550 charge) who found that my cat was still as sick as ever, and in fact the the things about which I had expressed concern to Dr. Goldfarb were very important, not worth being blown off. I did not appreciate feeling as though the health of my pet was unimportant, and am horrified that a practitioner of veterinary medicine would have such little regard for the health of animals. I would stay far away from here if you ever think you will need thorough, professional care for your animals.

Worst vet i have ever been too they misinform you i went for a simple neuter and they charged me for shots my pet had already had and when I signed the papers they told if there was anything else done to my pet they would let me know before with a phone call the amount due, I get the call nothing else happened at least from what they tell me I get there and they tell i have a charge when I was never informed ahead of time which was part of the agreement and once I spoke to the manager she was of no help she told me to leave not come back and that they dont mail bills but one month later I get a bill in the mail which I thought was not in There policy and I have received 2 phone calls which they never told me either. Worst vet and after the. Neutuering my pet has yet to recover there is still redness and it looks like it bothers him I will never go here again I would rather go to vet works on columbia pike

Truly this is a wonderful place. They will give you and your pets the best care without running up the bill unnecessarily. I have been bringing my pets here since the mid 1970s. (I cant believe it!) They keep up with medical advances while remaining caring and personal. I never feel rushed here, and I am confident that I am giving my precious pets the best possible medical care for every stage in their lives. The team at Fairfax Animal Hospital takes good care of humans, canines and felines very well. My dogs and cats have all had long, healthy lives, thanks a good bit to the nurturing we have received in the capable hands of these doctors and staff members! Thank you especially to Doctor Goldfarb.

Ive been bringing my Bulldog here for about a year now and theyve provided poor service on multiple occasions. 1. They charged us for a shot that they apparently never gave our dog. We only found out during the next visit when they tried to charge us again. 2. They charged us for 30 allergy pills when we only received 10 (luckily I counted and received a refund for the other 20). 3. We came to get some heartguard vitamins for our dog only to be told that they wouldnt sell them because he was due for a blood test (theyd never mentioned this before). Who knows how many other things they got away with without anyone noticing

In the past, Fairfax was GREAT, VERY on point with everything you and your pets needed. The doctors would even call with followups which I thought was great. I wouldve given them a 5 star review 12 months ago. BUT, today is 6/6/16 and I just called for an emergency for my dog and they have nothing open for 26 hours and said there is only 1 doctor there. In the past, there have been multiple doctors working. Now I have to find a hospital I trust and hope I dont get ripped off. Seems like Fairfax is very understaffed. I know Holly moved away and they have seem to have gotten worse since. thanks Mike Zorger

I just had my kitten neutered at Fairfax Animal Hospital and am very grateful and happy to have had such an easy time. It is a simple procedure but of course a cat mom can always worry, and everyone at FAH made the experience a breeze. They were super thorough and answered all worries and questions with attentiveness and care. I will be taking both my kittens to Ffx Animal Hospital for any vaccinations or care in the future, even though they are 15 mins away from my house, not just 5 like other animal clinics. Thats how much more they are worth it. Good thing my kittens are good travelers =D

We had a great experience bringing our dog to Fairfax Animal Hospital when he had broken tooth. We were of course worried, but the staff contacted us regularly, gave us everything we needed when we picked him up, and continued to follow-up with us after the procedure! It was fantastic and our dog hasnt had any issues since! Everyone was friendly, caring, and very understanding to concerns! And even worked with us around our busy schedules. Thanks to everyone there and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
