Biased Perspective

I took our children here when his dad was still around and we LOVED his dad. Very kind and respectful. When we went and saw the son, he was rude, impatient, and treated us as if we were stupid. Prior to arriving for our appointment, I explained that my daughter had x-rays that were taken elsewhere and she needed cavities addressed but we did not need a cleaning. The receptionist stated that was fine and I sent over the x-rays prior to our appointment. The dentist (the son) was in his office with his feet up on the desk relaxing at 4:30pm. When my daughter sat in the chair and they were going to start a cleaning I informed her that we were not there for a cleaning but for cavities. She went to get the son and he was clearly upset by the situation. He refused to look at the x-rays that were sent over and instead kept asking "which ones did they say had a cavity?" After being rude (and I mean really rude) he stated that there were no cavities that he could see by poking around until I insisted that she had five cavities. He finally stated, "Oh, here is one." But he followed that up by saying he could not work on her cavities because he didnt "feel comfortable" working on my child (who is 11) and recommended I take her to a pediatric dentist. In the end, it seemed like he was done with his day and didnt want to be bothered by someone who did not need a basic cleaning (even though I was very clear on the phone prior to our appointment). Like I said, his dad was really kind to my family and HAD treated both of my kids in such a way that they enjoyed coming here. NEVER AGAIN will we go here (and please be aware of reviews here because if you look closely, they come in bunches (e.g., many reviews on one day) which suggests that they might be influenced by the business).

My family and I needed a new dentist so we came to Exceptional Smiles and the staff there are so nice. I know I needed to get some work done, which Im embarrassed about, but Dr. Eye is very caring and understanding and explained to me everything I needed to know about what I needed to get done. My daughter was also a little nervous but he is really great with children and from the tour of the office that we were given, he has tons of experience with kids. We are so happy with our experience here and wont be going anywhere else. I definitely recommend coming here! :)

I highly recommend this to anyone who wants very honest opinion! I have been patient of Dr. Eye II for more than 4 years. I could not ask for better combination of the staff and dentist. Their friendliness makes me feel comfortable every visit. The facility is spotless!!! I appreciate fast, pain free and thorough cleaning service. I used fluoride per Dr. Eye II recommendation. Best decision I have made for my teeth! Prior to this I had teeth decay twice a year:( I have not had new decay ever sense. :)

Just recently moved to virginia & was looking for a dentist here in town. I found Exceptional Smiles Family Dentistry has good reviews so I called & made an appointment. I am glad I went to this office as the staff were very friendly & helpful.Treated me like family & Dr.Eye is very knowledgeable.He explained why i need a crown but since im a little bit nervous,Dr.Eye offered me nitrous for free. :) I recommend this office if you need a new dentist in town.

I came to Dr. Eye because they accept my insurance and I am glad I did. I had a great experience when dealing with the front desk and checking my benefits. The treatment was better than my last dentist because this doctor explained everything to me and showed me the fillings when finished for my approval. All the staff were friendly and patient. I will recommend this office to my neighbors who are looking for a new dentist.

I came to Dr. Eye because I wanted a change from my dentist of 15 years. I left because I wanted to find a dentist I could trust. After my first exam and cleaning with Dr. Eye, I made appointments for my whole family. His office is new with modern technology and Dr. Eyes style of communication is easy to build trust and understand. This is the first time I have ever felt like I was part of my health care.

This office is sharp and lives up to the reviews online. I took my daughter for her first visit and I felt like the whole office went out of their to make it special. She was able to get a toy prize and the doctor even showed her how to bush her teeth on a stuffed toy bear with exaggerated teeth. Over all I am very impressed with Exceptional Smiles that I made myself an appointment.

Dr. Eye was younger than I excepted but none the less he is a very competent doctor. He is witty making us laugh easily and is very personable. He spent enough time with me just like my old dentist had. I could tell my daughter enjoyed her visit as well. We ran a little late but they accomodated us at the front desk. I enjoyed the charm of the office and kindness of the staff.

Dr. Eye took time to explain why I did not need a filling after I thought I did. I liked the doctors convservative approach which built trust. I felt like I was in good hands the entire visit.

I felt very comfortable for my first visit to Exceptional Smiles. Dr. Eye did a very good job on relating to me and talking about topics that were important to me. I read on their website that this practice is patient focused and I believe that is an accurate statement. No big treatment plans just routine care that we planned together. Great location and nice doctor.

Exceptional Smiles is a very efficient dental practice and well run. It was very easy to like this office from the way they treat you, this place cares about you and your teeth! My first visit was not long and boring like most dentist visits so that was a relief. I like that they offered me fluoride as a adult. Great office and great people, does not disappoint.
