This is about the most sorry money hungry group of doctors that I have ever seen. My wife and I are expecting a baby! We used one of the cheep pregnancy tests from Walmart and got a positive. So we desided to get a head start because we found out early that she was pregnant. We scheduled our appointment and they did the normal first appointment stuff like blood work and give us all the information we need(no ultrasound because of how early it was). They got the test back a week later and wanted us to come back for more blood work because her CHC levels were really low and they wanted to make sure they were rising normally(thats all good but they new how early along in her pregnancy she was at this point). We got the test back and everything is good(at this point a decent doctor would have known within a couple of days how far along she is). So they scheduled her for an ultrasound at 5 weeks pregnant. they did the ultrasound and decided that they scheduled it a week to early so they scheduled her for another ultrasound a week later. We go in for last ultrasound and if you havent ever been pregnant before the first ultrasound is normally a vaginal ultrasound. So my wife is but naked on the table wearing only a short gown and the doctor left the door open when she walked it and left it open for about for a couple minutes. The doctor was called to go look at something by a nurse or someone and left the room for about 10 minutes and when she walked out she still didnt shut the door so I got up and shut it. Displeased with our service we changed doctors and went to shanendoa womans health. However it took Harrisonburg obgyn over 2 weeks to send the records to Shenandoah woman health and there excuse was the fax machine was broken... On our first appointment with Shenandoah womans health they asked us if there was a reason that we had blood drawn 2 times and had an ultrasound so early. Then they explained that harrisonburg obgyn should have known based off of the first bold test how far along the pregnancy was. I called Harrisonburg obgyn after hearing this and I wanted at least one of the ultrasound bills cut in half but they insisted that it is protocol for them to do an ultrasound on the first appointment and if they couldnt find a heart beat then they would schedule another appointment a week later. I then tryed explaining that it wasnt my first appointment it was my third, instead of trying to understand she cut me off and sternly said Mr. We arent going to lower your bill we followed protocol. Im not sure about there other services but for pregnancy care I would never go back nor would I recommend anyone else go. PS. I have called them since then exactly 14 times trying to get in touch with there billing department. I got in touch with them the first time I called as explained above, however every other time I have called it went to the answering machine I left a detailed message the first five or so calls but I never reserved a call back so I gave up and started just calling to get in touch with someone because leaving a detailed message clearly isnt enough.

Heard about Harrisonburg OB/GYN and Associates from AVA Care of Harrisonburg. AVA Care is where my then fiance and I found out we were going to have a baby. I called and made my first appointment and I loved how friendly the lady over the phone was when scheduling our first appointment. Throughout the entire pregnancy the office staff, nurses, and the Doctors were very friendly and answered all questions I had about my pregnancy and the tests they wanted to perform and why it was necessary. I have all good things and reviews about Harrisonburg OB/GYN. I think a special touch for me was when I went in for my 39 week appointment and was continually encouraged that everything was going well. But what made week 39 so nice was after I left the office and went to have lunch I experienced a heavy dizzy spell and Harrisonburg OB/GYN wasted no time in treating me and helping me when I returned. Always a friendly and great staff. Always there when I needed them. I will continue to have Harrisonburg OB/GYN as my regular GYN office. My now husband and I made the right choice with this Doctor office. Will always recommend to new and subsequent pregnant mothers. It would be very difficult to point out just one doctor to give the best review to because they all did and still do their jobs very well and are very caring. Thank you Harrisonburg OB/GYN for making my pregnancy an even more pleasant experience the whole way through.

Horrible practice. The doctors only see you as $$ signs. I went to HBurg OBGYN b/c my PCP referred me to them. However, Botichelli wouldnt even acknowledge that I was pregnant. I heard him out in the hall arguing with the nurse saying I wasnt pregnant and she saying I was. He then told her that he would not be telling me I was pregnant and that if she wanted she could tell me. Then Dr. Slusher told me that if I did not have my birth the way she wanted it to go for me, that my baby would die. Then, my sister-in-law went for her 8 week prenatal visit and was told by Dr. King that she needed to get on Birth Control. 1. Why wont you tell a patient they are pregnant? Even if its a faint positive, positive is positive! 2. Why would you tell a first time mom that her baby would die if she didnt have all the medical interventions you request? 3. Why would you tell a pregnant woman who has been trying to conceive, and now pregnant, that she needs to be put on birth control? WTF? This office does a lot of unnecessary surgeries. They only see patients as $$. They do not support women wanting to have VBACs, although they act like they do. And they are not open to having natural/unmedicated births. If you want to go with a medical practice that really cares for their patients go elsewhere.

I had been seeing them throughout my pregnancy when one morning I discovered some spotting. I called them to see what should be done, they told me they could get me in at 2 for an U/S and at 2:30 to talk to a doctor. A few hours later they called to tell me they were overbooked and that I should go to the ER. I went to the ER where I spent 4 hours and found out nothing! They did not even check for a heartbeat!

My neighbor recommended this practice when I was looking for a new ObGyn. I had a problem and needed to be seen quickly. I was able to get an appt with Dr. Maxwell, and had a very pleasant experience. He took the time to get to know me and listen to my long list of concerns. I will return to see him again, and highly recommend the practice.

Terrible terrible experiences. I went there for a while before I found another opportunity. I was always made to feel embarrassed and ashamed because I wasnt listened to or my complaints were denied. I was sent to another doctor and did not benefit. My new OB/GYN has been amazing. I will not miss this place.
