I do want to begin by saying, this review in no way reflects the overall experience at this location, it is a direct review of the doctor that I saw there. D.D. Wallis. The building is clean and welcoming, the intake and nurse staff are beyond sweet and welcoming. I understand that an ankle sprain may not feel like much of an issue to someone who is very fit. However, I am in the middle of moving. I took two days off from work to finalize things around my house and in the process sprained my ankle. I am overweight, however by no means am I incapable of moving my body. However, I needed a moment to cry before I drove myself home because I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. The nurse was empathetic and asked me if I prayed and showed true concern, and have me the space I needed to get myself together. However, the doctor I saw lost all points with me because she laughed at me on my way out of the facility instead of just saying bye. Then she never once asked me if I needed any additional days off from work where as most doctors will say stay off of the leg at least for three days. She laughed. It made me feel angry but I had way too much on my mind to even confront her about what was so funny. But she looked me dead in my face and laughed. For that, she gets one star. You couldve at least waited until I was out of your sight. Everything else about this experience earned 5 stars. But as I previously stated this review was about her, not the facility as a whole.

Every single time I go to Patient First in Lake Ridge, I pay my co pay and whatever the cost is for prescriptions and then somehow I always get a bill or next time I go into the office they tell me I have a balance due. I ask whats it for I paid everything and my Ins pays 100% after co pay. The answer is always the same, "Oh I dont know I dont see anything in the logs, but here take this card for the corporate number and talk to them, but if you want to see the doctor youll have to pay now". Like just now I get a call from a collection agency saying I had a $30 bill from Patient First, with a $40 dollar late fee so $70 , I say ok whats it for and why didnt they contact me. Answer "Oh we dont have that information but if you dont pay now it will start adding an 18% fee a day". SO I pay and call Patient first as I have every single time this happens and I get the same speech "Oh we dont have anything in our records call corporate" Ok so I call corporate and get "Oh we have that you owed $30 dollars but we dont show anything in our records as to why, so well have to put it in for review" in which I never hear another peep from them I have yet to be refunded a single time for a phantom charge that they cannot tell me what it is for. I will never go back and I would advise anyone else from going either unless you want phantom bills for $70 in the mail or collection agency that they cant tell you what they are for. Ridiculous

My experience today here was horrible, I had to wait for a hour to see a Dr after the nurse called me out of the lobby and took my height and weight. While sitting I seen countless patients that I was ahead of being taken care of. The Dr I seen (Fry) did apologize and was good, however before she seen me while in the room I heard a lot of the patient first staff laughing chit chatting meanwhile I was just waiting. Nobody else apologized and previous visits here they ask you to how was your visit and give you a chance to review. Guess what.... not this time because they knew they forgot I was even there. I would not have been as mad if they let me review like they did with everyone else. They did me dirty today, I definatley feel less inportant than anybody else that was there today. So many people that I was ahead of were taken care of before me I feel even more sick now. Patient First as a whole is decent, but this one in particular today failed to meet even my expectations which are not too high. Once again Dr Fry was fine ,but I will never come to this Tacketts Mills patient first again.

Patient First is a rip off. Very smart, but sneaky business. Went in for a ankle sprain. The doctor looked at it for 10 seconds and everything seemed okay. An ankle brace was given to me that you can purchase from CVS for 10 dollars. However, later I found out, Patient First charged my insurance 149.00 dollars for that same cheap air ankle brace - the same one I could had gotten from CVS for 10 times less of price. The center can be good for emergency situations. Put it like this, Just to see a doctor, you or your insurance has to pay 167 dollars. Even if you just spoke to a physician, and nothing can determined to threat you at the location, you will be charged in hundreds. Your insurance is probably not likely to cover all cost. Complete RIP OFF. Stay away, unless you really need some urgent medical attention. For consultation purposes, this place is strongly not recommended.

DONT take your baby there. I used this location because it was open on Sunday. The location is really nice looking and the staff was super sweet. However, the doctor (DDW) told me that my baby had Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. She also said that she had red bumps all over the top of her mouth. She said this is one of the worst things that the baby could get at this age, because the babys is suffering without being able to communicate (unlike a toddler). Fast forward a day when I took my baby into her usual pediatrician. Not only did she not have the HFM Disease, but nothing was on the top of her mouth. You cant get me more upset than to tell a parent some off ball diagnosis just because you dont know (dont know your practice or just infants??). Either way, terrible. I will notify my insurance as well.

Ive been a Patient First customer for almost 4 years now, however in my last visit they failed to notify me - a CIGNA insurance customer - about recent changes in their billing process. All "office visits" are now billed as "urgent care no matter of the condition/reason of your visit. This means, you end up paying more than 80% of the total bill afterwards since its not cover by your insurance deductible. Patient First should notify customers in how you are going to be billed. If I had this information beforehand, I would have looked elsewhere for another provider. So, if you are a CIGNA - and I guess another insurance- customer please double check once you sign-in while you are speaking with the front desk person. They basically lost a loyal customer and 3 other dependents because of this.

My wife has been to several urgent care facilities in the area (she gets hurt a lot in sports) and this is BY FAR the best one around. After discounting the ones with terrible google reviews we tried a couple others with decent reviews that ended up being terrible. My wife went here with what she thought was a broken finger. Despite her arriving there 5 minutes before closing time, everyone there was extremely nice, from the secretary to the doctors. I had called ahead because I wanted to be sure she would get in and they even went so far as to have everything ready so she was in an out in less than 45 minutes with an x-ray, medication, and a finger splint, wrist brace, a gause pack, several sports wraps, and other random stuff. We will never go anywhere else in the woodbridge area again.
