I would give no stars ifI could. This was by far the worst experience my family has ever had in any hospital. My son was taken into the pediatrics emergency department for what turned out to be nursemaids elbow. While there his elbow worked itself back into joint. When we returned home the hospital called and said he had a possible fracture in his arm, and needed a splint. The next day, my wife took him back. It turns out they lied to us. My wife was immediately bombarded by doctors and hospital staff accusing her of child abuse. My 11 month old son was exposed to over 40 minutes of xrays. Thats excessive even for adults. My wife and son were detained there for over 8 hours and offered little to no food or comfort. I was never contacted by the hospital at any point that day. In the end, after a follow-up xray there was no fracture in his arm. No one in my family will ever go near that hospital ever again. We were told this procedure was hospital policy. I do not feel that my children are safe in their care and dont recommend that any person exposed themselves to this malicious treatment.

Terrible experience. I had been to two hospitals that day due to a laceration on my hand the amount of blood loss was substantial had to apply a tourniquet to save my life. Got discharged and went home after 14 hours in the hospitals it started bleeding bad again and was told to rush to the er if that happened and made it to here and told them everything that happened and well the nurse said Ill be OK and said they will get to me in a few hours. I left and went somewhere else which I didnt get out till 4am

If I could give less than a star I would reported to hospital at 10:30am for surgery scheduled at 12:45 finally I get mad at 3:00 and a nurse tells me its going to be another hour becausse the doc was late and didnt even get here till 10:30 mind you the patient had radiation in his mouth so he makes NO saliva and his mouth is completly dry they start an iv which does exactly what for his mouth which is in bad pain broken teeth from radiation and the last time we came here it was 16 hours in the ER

The doctors were awesome! Nurse Ben had to put up with me while I cried in pain, but he never complain! Nurse Sadie and Colleen were also super nice! They helped me right away when I called them! If I went to Any other hospital (cough*Chippenham*cough) they wouldve not only made me wait for 3 hours(true story) but wouldve also diagnosed me with the wrong thing(also a true story). So thanks VCU!

Worst experience ever. Spent hours waiting in fast track while a group of doctors and nurses talked about their downward dog in the next room. Wasnt given the time of day and they ignored/ barely looked at the referral that the original clinic I went to wrote so I didnt even get the treatment that I came there for. Impatient, rude and unhelpful.

7 hours in the ER fast track. X-rays and cat scans done over two yours ago. Still waiting to see a doc. Ridiculous. Follow up It ended up being over 8 hours but the docs were great when we finally saw them. If they had communicated with us a bit during all this is would have been fine.

Was brought to the emergency room from the acc primary care clinic because of some sucide thoughts just to be in the emergency room all night to later be discharged. Didnt even get any treatment just got put in a room to be on watch all night. VCU EMERGENCY ROOM IS NOTHING BUT A BIG JOKE
