I first saw Dr. Small to help with a learning disability about 7 years ago. The tests he performed over a few sessions were what I originally thought were easy/simple. It wasnt until his detailed explanations of each outcome where it opened up my eyes. After those tests were completed, I never went back to see him. Not that he was bad, he was amazing! Just at that point in my life I didnt think I should keep going just for my own mental health state. Fast forward to 2017. I experienced a breakdown, overcome with realizations that I needed someone to talk to, help me understand this mental crisis I am going through as well as putting my family through. Of course I wasnt seeing a Psychologist at the time, my wife asked me if I could think of anyone to call and I thought of Dr. Small. Of course it was late Friday evening, but we went ahead and called and I chose the option for "Emergency for Dr. Small" - I was expecting an answering service to pick up, take my info and probably have someone call me in 45 minutes even though the answering service said I would get a call back in 10. Shocked when the other side was picked up directly by Dr. Small! I knew he wouldnt remember me but that didnt matter to him. I told him a brief description of what I was going through and what I think I needed and he stayed on the line with me giving me suggestions, and thats when he said he was currently on Vacation! This guy picked up the phone let alone stayed on the phone with me while on vacation with his family! He suggested other doctors to try and a few out patient clinics if I needed something right away. He didnt keep his suggestions in his practice/group. He actually cared, my wife and I could tell he was actually thinking of who he could suggest that could fit me in the soonest. I know that not all doctors would go as far as Dr. Small did without even having (remembering) my information, it made me feel that someone that I didnt know cared and really cared about my issues. When I hung up, I told my wife that I felt bad and kinda "What About Bobd" him since he was on vacation. Everyone should handle their Mental Heath one way or another, as long as its being taken care of - if you choose to see a Psychologist I would recommend Dr. Small because he seriously cares and wants to help if he doesnt know you or have your insurance information at the time. And if youre reading this Dr. Small - Thank You

This psychologist is terrible! My child saw him and he was completely unprofessional. He informed me my child was simply a brat trying to pull one over on me. After months of virtually no improvement, I took my child to another psychologist for a second opinion who recommended educational testing. After being tested by another psychologist, it turned out my child had a diagnosed learning disability and subsequently began receiving accomidations; any "problems" we were experiencing disappeared immediately after the additional services began. Save your time and your money, see someone else!

Ive been seeing Dr. Small for a few years now - hes definitely the smartest (and funniest!) therapist Ive ever had. Hes compassionate, but isnt afraid to give harsh truths. I highly recommend him.
