My experience with this Banfield has been rocky. I had high expectations because my parents take the dogs to Banfield up north and the experience has always been positive so I was really excited to take my new dog to this Banfield. Ive had to visit them a total of about four times now, and three of the four were not pleasant. I ended up spending more money than I had to due to, what I felt was carelessness on their part. On that day I really felt like they were just trying to get money out of me. They also didnt call me one day to tell me that my dog was ready to be picked up so I was late and they tried charging me for being late although it was not my fault. Im a college student so I dont have money just sitting around and I really felt like they werent thinking about that at all. There was one great experience I had with Banfield and it was yesterday. My dog is terrified of the doctors but the two that helped her yesterday got her to stop shaking and my dog was happy when she left, shes never been able to warm up to doctors like this. The two doctors I had were Jill (I dont know her last name, but she has beautiful tattoos all over and is sweet as can be), and Dr. Ferrante (I believe that is how you spell it. Both were just so caring and wonderful.

i was very disappointed in banfield. we hadnt take. our pets to the vet in a few years (because theyre very rarely out and about anywhere other than the yard or around the block) so we warned the woman helping us that they may be nervous. while trying to explain what we thought needed extra attention and a professionals opinion, the woman didnt write anything down and most likely had no intention on telling the vet what we wanted checked. fast forward about 20 minutes, the assistant comes out to take the dogs back and is actually YANKING on one of my dogs collars because she was nervous about not knowing the people and being in a strange place. also, no calls all day from the vet or anyone, we had to call and make sure everything was going well and ehen we went to pick them up, we were told what we already knew about one dog and nothing about the other. the vet that saw them never came out and made no effort to contact us at all about our pets other than to tell us we need to spend an extra $600 on xrays. if there were a way to rate 0/5 stars, i most definitely would

I was offered a "free medical exam" while in the store and was given a coupon. I scheduled an appointment for a rescue Cairn terrier that I was fostering. I had actually gotten him from a rescue group set up at Pets Mart. I had been told that he had a heart murmur. When I went for his appointment, they tried to insist on worm testing, vaccines, etc. I declined since this had been already been done by the rescue group and would have been very expensive for me. The "free exam" consisted of the vet only listening to his heart. Nothing else was checked. She told me that he had a heart murmur but refused to comment further. She would not tell me if it was significant or provide any opinion about it at all. She was willing to do further testing, such as an expensive echocardiogram. I was very disappointed. As a good customer of Pets Mart, I expected better, especially since this was a rescue dog. I did not solicit this "free exam" and felt that I wasted my time. I ended up taking him to my own vet only to find out that the murmur was nothing.

Do NOT ever take your pet here. Dr. Harmeet Aulakh is the worst veterinarian I have ever seen. Lacks clinical knowledge and bedside manner. Unless you are willing to sedate your animal (who gets somewhat anxious/stressed) for a basic exam (yes, the focus is money)....I would not recommend this place to anyone. I received several phone calls throughout the day referencing a "she" cat (my cat is male), and they even gave me check-out papers for another animal. Was told my animal was mean and wouldnt come out of kennel. I pick him up, hes purring and walks right to front of the cage. Most traumatic experience ever for my cat due to the lack of understanding and compassion of the vet. I canceled my wellness plan after wonderful care in Germantown, MD because of this woman/facility/staff. BEWARE!

I so agree with the other reviews. I dont know what goes on there, but my puppy was literally tramatized after one of his visits. This is the only office that I know that will tell you everything is ok, and once you get home and read the notes, **found small mass, tartar on teeth etc etc arent those things you might want to know in the office to decide on a follow up plan. I had two friends that ended up putting their dogs down, that went here. I thought those were isolated circumstances after my experience I went running for the hills to find a new vet. If you are worried about other insurance plans there are several offered on line. I escalated my concerns to the so called office manager Lisa - NO HELP AT ALL! If you love your pet 1/2 as much as we love ours - dont do it!

I have taken my Chiweenie to Banfield Pet Hospital in Roanoke a few times and every time has been successful. Unfortunately his anal glands dont empty like they are supposed to and there has been twice that they have ruptured. Both times, Banfield was able to work him in within a 12 hour period and complete the procedure to flush them out and infuse them with antibiotics. They put up with my worrysome "mom" phone calls throughout the day checking on him and called me when he was out of the procedure to tell me how everything went. I have been nothing but satisfied with this place, which I have to admit surprised me since it seems to have that "corporate" feel. I will continue to use them for my pets needs.

My girlfriend dropped our cane corso puppy off here for a few hours to get a biopsy of a growth, and dealt with a rude receptionist, who couldnt figure out how to look at the schedule. Whats worse is when our puppy got home he started to freak out whenever we tried to put him in the kennel. He used to have no problem with the kennel and now he wont go in it. You people have some explaining to do. Expect a visit very soon.

My dog Gracie had the wellness plan. The credit card it was linked to expired so I missed a payment. No one told me. The $37 charge went to collections. Collections never attempted to notify me either. So...my credit score was destroyed. Note that I spent thousands of dollars at this business over the years. Stay away from this place!!!!!!

My Great Dane loves it here! The staff has always gone above and beyond to make us comfortable and their Wellness plan has been the best deal. Wallys standout favorites are Dr. Houck and Julie, the practice manager. He gets so excited to visit them, even if he knows hes getting a shot or something not so fun.
