Having been with our last vet for over 20 years up north, we were looking for that special vet in the Hallandale area we could trust. Among the local vets, the Neighborhood Veterinary Center caught my eye. Brand new building, young veterinarian, informative web page that spoke to everything we were looking for, and they were close by. Dr. Carlos Ameijeiras, who goes by the friendly name of Dr. Carlos, impressed me with the depth of his knowledge. Dr. Carlos slightly changed our older cats treatment to bring it up to date with modern medicine. Zippy responded perfectly to the new regimen. The medication was no longer a difficult pill, but was now a cream with an applicator that was applied to the inside of his ear. Super easy and the cat isnt bothered at all anymore. Stress-free medication for both of us. What a pleasure! Blood work and other testing is done on the spot, in-house, while you wait. This is a brand new, up to date, facility that offers complete, one-stop service for your pet. Check their web page, all is explained and shown. Every room is clean, comfortable and roomy. Dr. Carlos is wonderful, always has a smile, and is happy to help. He explains the issues in easy to understand terms and explains your options in terms the typical owner can easily grasp. There is no confusion. Dr. Carlos takes his time with you, and with your pet. There has not been a rush in any way the several times weve been there. He is a pleasure to deal with. Hes already part of the family. And I must mention the front desk and the Vet Technicians, theyre tops. Im disabled but before I could even try to pull out the cats crate from the car, someone was already outside to carry it in for me. The same thing when I left, I did not even have to ask, someone picked up the crate and carried it back out for me. The Technicians are equally friendly, know what theyre doing, explain what theyre doing, and make a vets visit easy. We are so glad we found Dr Carlos and his team on the very first try. It only took that first visit for us to know, without a doubt, that Dr Carlos and The Neighborhood Veterinary Center was going to be our new vet.

Clean, modern & welcoming. Attentive friendly and warm welcome. The vet is generous with his time, to explain, process and consider options. The visit cost (waived! <3) and treatment are competitive and comparable- just below market rate. Must give them A+ on the Up Sale- added nail trimming and the shame collar ($16 & $18 = retail price) When i had to go back early next day- I was in and out quickly, my pup patched up smoothly while I had some hot morning mocha. I love it when im not treated as a number to process and chew as some hospitals do, or pushed on me meds/soaps/foods as a vet care with corporate partner tend to do. Warm hand shake, smiling faces and patient caring experience. Nicely done!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff, Dr Carlos, and office. I recently switched to them about nine months ago from my long time vet. Their care is impeccable, and their passion is even more remarkable. I recently lost a pet of 14+years. I cannot tell you how loving they were during the care and months of sickness, how every time I visited or called the office it felt like I was calling a family member. Dr. Carlos is beyond wonderful, very knowledgeable and compassion about his work. The office is superb, always clean, and when youre greeted, you feel like youre walking into a friends home.

I have one word, Phenomenal! Since the beginning the staff has been very pleasant and have taken care of my puppy with excellence. What took it over the top was when we took my furry love to get neutered 5 days ago. Dr. Carlos greeted him at the door, took him to the back, performed the procedure, called me to tell me everything went well, asked me to leave him in the office a few hours for observation. When I picked up my puppy he looked well. By evening time he was up to his happy little ways. I’m so happy with Dr. Carlos and his staff. We are lucky to have them. Thank you

While vacationing here from NC our senior cat became weak, vomiting, dehydrated and loosing weight. Neighborhood Veterinary Center quickly got us in. The staff was comforting and professional. The office was clean and modern. Dr. Carlos was very caring and knowledgable and advised us of our course of action after needed tests were completed. We wished he was our full time veterinarian. I’ve had an excellent experience with Dr. Carlos and the staff at Neighborhood Veterinary Center, from Lulu’s first visit to her surgery and follow up care. The staff has always been extremely attentive, courteous, professional and patient with us during our visits, and they’ve always followed up to see how Lulu is doing. I’m glad I’ve found a life-long vet for my dog, and I’d recommend this center to any pet owner.

The owners are clueless. The Dr carriers a gun in the exam rooms because hes a little punk and brags about it to staff. Being a former law enforcement professional if someone is gonna use a weapon they dont talk about it first. Completely unprofessional staff. They use their staff as a babysitter while one person up front does everything. You wouldnt want to work there either.

Dr. Carlos saw my chihuahua for a small cyst that presented it self on my dogs paw, treated us great and was very knowledgeable and helpful, it is also nice to have a local veterinary office and a great environment and great looking office. I will definitely be returning for all my veterinary needs and wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place to anyone else.

I knew Dr. Carlos from when he was at Hollywood Animal Hospital... Which we have used for the past 5 years. When we recently found out that Dr Carlos opened his own practice we decided to go there which we did 2 weeks ago. Dr. Carlos is an excellent Doctor, he is extremely patient and you NEVER feel rushed..... We highly recommend him.

I highly recommend this vet for anyone in need of a new one. After our first visit with them today, Im certain we will only be taking our pet here from now on. The doctor seems to really know his stuff, and the staff was very kind, accommodating, and thoughtful. Cost was reasonable as well. Five stars all around.
