Sterling Park Animal Hospital is literally within walking distance of my house, so I was excited my cats wouldnt have to endure a long car ride. I checked reviews on Google before I made the decision to take my 2 cats to Dr. Eastin. Unfortunately, I didnt read ALL of the reviews in detail, I just looked at the overall score of 3.5 stars. My wallet just got robbed! My total bill was $943.70 when I thought I was just taking them for annual vaccines and a check up!!! $60 per pet for exam (all of my old vets charged $43 or less) Also, Sterling Park Animal Hospital, charged me for 3 exams (2 cats = 2 exams, I will be demanding a refund of $60) Both cats were diagnosed with ear infections and prescribed antibiotic ear drops. A one week check up was recommended and I asked if that will be free as most follow up appointments are, but I was told, no, there will be a "re-exam" fee! One cat was diagnosed as having gum disease and a teeth cleaning was recommended within the next 2 months at a whopping $500!!! Blood tests were required in order to make sure the cat is safe to be under anesthesia for teeth cleaning (I think this is normal, but now Im questioning the motive). Also, an antibiotic was prescribed to be administered prior to and after teeth cleaning. Each time I asked "How much does that cost" the subject was changed until I was ready to provide payment. One cat was due for her rabies vaccine. The old vet used to give both cats a 3 year vaccine. Dr. Eastin told me that the 3 year vaccine is only recommended for dogs, not cats, and he would only administer the 1 year vaccine to cats. I believed him at the time, but now I am questioning that decision because it was the same price as the 3 year vaccine at the old vet! Many other tests were also recommended. Im going back to Dr. Rice at Towne Animal Clinic in Leesburg even if it means I have to drive 20-25 minutes!!! I am really upset with my decision to trust this vet while I was in his office. Also, as others have said on the Google reviews, the appointment lasted two hours. That was also unexpected and unusual, but I guess he needed time to keep finding things that are wrong with my healthy cats!

Do not take your pets here. We recently moved out to this area and I took my 2 cats to this animal hospital for their annual rabies shots. The appointment took 2 hours, the cats were terrified, and then they gave me a list of problems that the cats had. I was surprised because they have always been pretty healthy but being an animal lover I wanted to do the best for my cats so I bought all of the medications, had bloodwork done on the male cat and scheduled a teeth cleaning for him. A week later I had to take them back in for a check up. At this point, they really were sick from all of the bad medications they had given to the cats. The appointment again took another 2 hours (have no idea why!!!!) and again the cats were traumatized. They told me to come back again in another week. 4 days later the cats were doing extremely worse so I decided to go back to my old vet which was about 45 minutes away. I told them the diagnosis of the Sterling Animal Hospital and they looked at me as if I was crazy and said nothing was wrong with them. We immediately stopped all of the medications they had been giving us and the cats got better. Not to mention our old vet told us it was also VERY unnecessary to have our cat be put under anthesia for a teeth cleaning. There was nothing wrong with his teeth! So bottom line: this was a terrible terrible experience. I will never go there again. If you do decide to go here- be prepared to waste alot of time and money. This place should be sued for vetrinary malpractice!

Sterling Park Animal Hospital staff is a blessing to us and our family. We had a 4 year old beagle diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was told that he would survive only 2 days at the most. We went in for a second opinion at SPAH. Not knowing anyone there or anything about it. Our little guy lived for another 11 months all because of the aid that was given to him here at SPAH. Everyday we would make calls and the doctors and nurses were there to assist. Everyone stayed so patient to help us through it all. Regardless of the need, physical, mental, emotional and even financial, Dr Eastin and Dr Factor made it happen with their team. They treated my little one like their own. Ill always be greatful for this place. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Taking care of animals one has to understand them and the team here does that. They work with their hearts to make them better.

my roommate took my dog here because hes been lethargic, but otherwise healthy. They tricked her (shes 21 and not always the sharpest knife in the drawer) into giving them the go-ahead to do 4-6 x-rays (for lethargy?!?!?), a blood assay, and a shot. 700$ and the doctor still had no idea why the dog was lethargic! I could have saved the dough, given him some yogurt, and he would be fine...but the vet didnt even think to check with me, the OWNER, before performing all these unnecessary tests for $$$...even though she told him it wasnt her dog. He also didnt tell her what these tests would cost, and as an added bonus, refused to give her a payment plan when this 21 year old girl didnt have 700$ in her pocket!!! Unethical. Incompetent. ROBBERY.

Office visits are way to much and I didnt feel very welcomed during my visits there. My husband and I had our dogs kenneled a few months back and it was our first time there. They took the dogs into the exam room and looked them over and got photos of them(took a whole 5 mins) and then tried to charge us 60+$ for that when We were told over the phone that there wasnt any hidden fees (we had also given them a copy of their records which showed they had all their up to date shots). Needless to say we refused to pay that fee on top of the pricey payment it cost for them to stay there for 2 days. They should really inform the clients of prices before doing anything to the pets.

Staff wasnt very welcoming considering it was our first visit. We had called ahead and asked if payment plans were available since we were strapped for money but our dog was sick, and on the phone they said we would be able to work something out. When we get there, the owner declined to bill us meaning we were blindsided and had to pay up front. The actual veterinarian was decent, but his diagnoses felt pretty vague, he gave us some antibiotics but also said we might need to take him to the er? Not sure if we should be alarmed, or what.. we had an appointment at 4, werent seen until about 4:45. Will take our business elsewhere next time, unfortunately.

Not sure where the negative comments are coming from because I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Eastin! Our cat eats rubber bands and Dr. Eastin discovered the mass in his belly and completed the surgery. He was very compassionate to my worry and took the time to explain everything to us. He even entertained my silly questions and gave us a huge discount on the expensive surgery because he saw we had a newborn with us. He even offered to allow me to visit our kitty because he was there for four days recovering. We have a new vet for our kitty!
