After three years I must now change vets. The office is a machine, too busy, too many rules, too delayed, too overworked, too large. The final straw was the last visit which began with our appointment not in the system (we had spoke to them twice about this), a $$38.00 grooming that did not touch her head hair. She was done grooming at 10:30 (I left her there at 8:00) but was not seen until late afternoon by Dr. Daily for "fleas." I called three times hoping to get her (I am busy and Spicy is 15 years old and does not do well with kenneling) and got a terse, "She is done when Dr. Daily sees her and we call." They call at 3:15 and I get there at 3:45. They were not ready, resulting in my waiting 25 minutes. I asked for Spicy and was told they would rather not for it is "hard to hold a dog while paying for the bill (that was not ready)." I believe this rule is actually because they want payment first so you dont walk out. BTW, that place has more rules than the Supreme Court. I said I wanted her now. They bring her, I wait some more along with others, I tell them I am taking her outside to pee. She takes the longest pee I have seen, really! I believe she was locked up the whole time and not taken out. We were given the flea med and told to give her the pill with food. When I get home I read the instructions that say to titrate the quantity to the size of the dog. One pill was for a 10 lb dog... mine is 4.8 lb, she got 1/2. The bill was as always, high. There was a $50 fee I did not understand. I was told because a vet saw her for wellness? We immediately see flees on her on the drive home and call the office to ask if the "immediate flea med" (not that one provided which is longer term), was given as was told and why we brought her in to begin with. No, they say, "we saw no fleas." The final straw, was when we brought her home she ran to the water bowl and drank and drank and drank. I do not believe she was given water for her 7.5 hour stay. I hope to be wrong here but after 15 years you get to know your dog. We will move to a local, one woman office that a friend goes to after leaving Sajo also. I am told that it is small, caring, individualized and sincere. I hope they do not become the money machine that Sajo has and lose the individualized and special care we need for the 15 year old, member of the family we entrusted with Sajo. I disagree with a previous comment on Dr. Daily. I believe he is an excellent vet who always treated Spicy well with good medical care. I wish he would close his eyes and remember the day when he was small and knew everything that was going on, treating each animal as unique, in his struggling little vet office that made him huge today.

Finally sitting down to write this review. I took my dog in because he was vomiting a lot. They ran some tests and gave me some medicine and said they would like to keep him there over night. I was told that there would not be any staff there overnight, which frankly caused me to question why he would better in their care for the evening than my own. I may not know a lot about dog health, but at least I would be present if something happened. I politely refused since I was concerned how my dog would do sick, alone, and in a crate. They kept pressuring me despite my concerns and failed to adequatly explain any real benefits to my dog for paying a couple hundred dollars for him to spend the night unattended in a metal box, as well as completely discrediting the idea that I know better how my dog of 3 years would respond in that situation (not well). Eventually I put my foot down but the matter was never completely dropped. The meds they gave worked and my dog did very well that night under the loving care of my wife and I at home. Unfortunately, that wasnt our final problem with Sajo. A few months later my wife dropped our dog off for boarding and grooming. They said he was going to be due for some vaccinations and that they would give them to him while he was boarded. My wife informed them that he had been given most the vaccinations and she had the paperwork to prove it. She asked them to call with a price quote on the vaccinations he did need before giving them to him. Not only did they not call us, but when my wife called they had already given him ALL of the vaccinations and demanded we pay for all of them. They did not listen to our wishes and blatantly disregarded the documentation of vaccinations to make us pay for treatment our dog didnt need. I cant stress strongly enough that I would never recommend doing business with Sajo.

I have been to three vets in the Hampton roads area and no one was able to figure out what was wrong with my baby belle( beagle mix) I decided to try hope springs veterinary hospital... because do you happen to be right down the street from where I work. I walked in super nervous and hope that they would a provide the medication she needed so that she can be comfortable while we figure out what the bottom line issue with my dog belle. Dr. Hardy was very patient with me and listened to me as I expressed my concerns and my recent experiences with other Vets. She was very patient and told me what she suggested, made belle comfortable and made me feel a sense of relief. I cant remember her name ... but another young lady called a bunch of pharmacies to make sure that they were going to be able to fill my prescription. ALL of these ladies I came Into contact with from the time I made my appointment till the time I walked out of their office were absolutely amazing, show that they cared and above all were extremely patient. Cant thank you ladies enough, see you next month. Thank you so much from Belle and alexsa davis !!

I dont know who Skip Schmidt is but he/she must be bitter about something and seeking revenge, retribution, or looking to defame the Sajo Farm Veterinary Hospital name. I have not been to every animal hospital in the area, but of the clinics I have been to and the few I have heard about from other people, Sajo Farm is by far the best I have ever been to. The staff is very knowledgeable and their office always has a pleasant and inviting feel. Since Julies departure, there has been a different vibe that seems to have positively affected the staff. I am not saying that this has anything to do with Julies absence, in fact I had several very positive interactions with her. Even when Julie, the old "office manager", was working there I was treated with respect and professionalism. I trust the entire staff at Sajo Farm from the receptionists all the way up to the doctors. They are all very willing to help and I would, and do, recommend Sajo Farm to anyone who is looking for a vet. If you are looking for a great vet for your companion animals then you should try Sajo Farm, you will not be disappointed.
