I thought it was going to go well at first. The nurse who took me into the triage was extremely sweet, caring and even wished me well with a pat on the back. I went in for an extremely painful pulled muscle in my thigh, so I hoped they would be helpful with this. At first, I heard people talking in the waiting room about how theyd been waiting 3-4 hours. I figured "Well, that sucks if I have to wait 4-5 hours.. but Im patient with this kinda stuff, I can last that long. No big deal." After 3 hours, they got me into the actual ER. I was put into a room that had nothing but a camera and a one of those "beds" that are made to be used inside ambulances. Didnt really bother me.. I wanted to relax and lay down while I waited for the doctor, anyway. However, the doctor didnt come in for another hour later. Still, I wasnt too bothered. He talked with me, I explained what was going on. He didnt seem too caring, but I shrugged it off. However, this is where things started to go downhill. He ordered an X-Ray and a blood test to be done, even though I had told him it was just a pulled muscle and I had it before. I explained that I didnt have insurance, but he just tells me "oh its cheap." I shrug it off again and figure I might as well make sure its not something even more serious. 20-30 minutes after he left, someone came and took me to do the X-Rays. Afterwards, I was returned to the room. I waited and waited for someone to come by to do the blood test, and after over an hour I still had yet to hear from anyone about the X-Ray or if they were going to do the blood test. Another hour passed, and nothing. I decided to limp out into the hallway to the nurses station, but I was promptly ignored. I had to wave down a nurse who was texting on her cellphone to finally get someone to respond to me. She said shed figure out what was going on and shed get the doctor to come see me. Another hour passed, and no word from the nurse or the doctor. I located another nurse and spoke with her, and she said shed speak with the doctor. Finally, after 8 hours of being in the ER, a nurse came in to finally do the blood test. I explained it was 2 am, I was tired and in a lot of pain. I asked how long itd be, and itd end up being an hour for the test and then another hour for some other crap. 10+ hours in the ER, for a strained muscle? I would have been better staying at home and taking some ibuprofen. After 8+ hours, I decided to leave. I do not plan to go back to this hospital if I ever have an emergency in the future if I can avoid it. The staff and the doctor didnt even tell me what was going on, nor did they check up on me. I had to flag down nurses just to ask what was going on. I was literally in tears I was in so much pain near the last hour I was there, yet all I got was cold shoulders. Ive never written a bad review on anything.. but this experience was horrible enough that I believe people should be aware of what they are getting into before they decide to take a trip to the ER here.

My experience was appalling! I have a serious respiratory disorder, where my throat swells shut when ever there is any kind of intrusion to the sub glottal area. Doesnt matter if it is a tangible intrusion such as a scope or a breathing tube, or a microbe like a cold. I visited Dr. Ward who believed I had a condition called "Idopathic Tracheal Stenosis." He used a stint to stretch out my throat, where he found that my throat didnt really need to be stretched out. He actually cause the very problem that I was seeking help for. When my throat swelled up in recovery another doctor and students attended to me. I was put in the hospital and again this Doctor never saw me. Because I was forced to spend the night, (The procedure was suppose to be a day procedure.) I needed a CPAP the staff knew this but never provided me with one. The night gown they put on me was really big and had no closure. The ties had been cut off. When they wheeled me to my room they only went as far as the hallway. I was asked to walk from the public hallway to my room. when I got out of the recovery room bed my nightgown fell off me. I was standing in a public hallway completely naked! Talk about an invasion of patient privacy, it was so humiliating. Then they picked this nightgown off the public floor and put it back on me, even though they knew that exposure to microbes could bring on my throat swelling. All night my breathing and heart alarms kept going off because I did not have my CPAP machine. The next morning A physical therapist was assigned to see me even though I didnt need a physical therapists services. The physical therapists even commented that she could do nothing for me. We sat on the bed and talked for a few minutes on the colleges we attended, and on on the weather. Then she went on her way. (She charged me as if I did get full services, for talking about the weather.) I found it interesting that a physical therapists was assigned to my case, but a respiratory therapists was not. Then the doctors assistant came and asked if they had fixed me. When I commented that they didnt, he told me they were releasing me. As soon as I got home (which is a 5 hour drive away) I had to see my own doctor because I was still having swelling in my throat problems. Latter I tried to schedule a follow up appointment. I called the hospital 8 times but each time I just got the run around. I never got to speak to a real person just the Doctors assistant. I left 8 messages, but my phone calls were never returned. finally I called and asked to talk to someone on the ethics board. The doctors assistant returned my call that time, but said she would talk to the doctor about a follow up exam and call me back which she never did. I was prescribed medication that made no sense including 60 pills given to patients with cancer. I was charged a huge amount of money for the experience of slowly suffocating, being publicly humiliated.
