I moved here a few years ago but since my cat was used to my old vet in Portland, I kept going there. I tried a couple other vets in Vancouver for smaller issues, but both were bad experiences. My cat got in a fight and needed attention quickly so I found Vancouver Vet Hospital and Im so glad I did! They took care of this absess, and several other issues that they thought were important. These were issues, including a lump on his side, that I had brought up to the old vet and thought theyd checked. However, when Vancouver Vet called for the records, turns out they had never checked it, just said "its probably a fatty tissue lump". But they never did the simple test to determine for sure, when I thought they had! Vancouver Vet took the reins and made sure he was all covered with everything he needed. Im very impressed, and will definitely continue to use them. They seem really great so far!

We have been bringing our pets to Vancouver Vet since 1977 (my parents) and now my own pets. They dont talk you into unnecessary tests or treatments. Our 11year old Lab had a sudden loss of balance and was extremely disoriented we feared the worst and were preparing our family for it. We called and were put on the schedule that same day. After Dr. Velardis examination he determined that it was not as bad as we thought it was and would most likely get better on its own. We pushed for a blood test to be sure and were called after 8pm by Dr. V that night with the results. I am so thankful for Dr. Vs knowledge or we may have made a permanent decision for a temporary problem. In the 30+ years we have been going to Vancouver Vet we have never had an issue with their professionalism or compassion to our pets. My dog actually loves to come and see them!

The Vancouver Vet Hospital has been our vet since we moved to Vancouver about 2 and a half years ago. We havent tried anyone else as they have met our expectations. They send notifications when we need to come in, the price is ok, and the people there seem like they care and are helpful. We just took our dog in for a tooth cleaning and extraction and they were very up front about possible costs and gave us options that made the procedure more expensive but easier on our dog. They have done this before and go over the options in great deal and we appreciate that. Our dog has some anxiety but seemed to do well which indicates that the care was good. We will continue to use them and I see no reason not to recommend them.

My family and I have been bringing our animals to Vancouver Veterinary for at least the past 20 years, probably much longer. Dr. Velardi is awesome and the only vet I would trust with my animals. He is so kind and compassionate and always gives you his honest opinion only recommending what is absolutely necessary. He has never tried to "over sell" with unneeded services or sway your decision in any way. He just gives you his opinion and leaves the decisions up to you. Dr. Velardi has seen us through our new babies whether a puppy or a kitten in all the happy days through the sadness of seeing or having to say goodbye to an old friend in their final days. I wouldnt trust my beloved animals with anyone but Dr. Velardi.

After I returned home from work, my dog had begun to seize. He had apparently eaten slug poison 4 ours before, and now was starting to feel the effects. I rushed him into Dr. Velardis clinic, and right away my dog was dragged into the exam room. Dr. Velardi did everything right, but my dog was still in a bad condition. He stayed at the clinic, and went through three days of events; one day he fell into a coma, which Dr. Velardi worked on getting my dog out of. And finally, he did. My dog woke up blind, but after a few hours, his vision returned. When I went to pick him up, he was back to his old self! Thank you, Dr. Velardi, for saving my dog.

Where KINDNESS ABOUNDS... after a long struggle I had to put my dear sweet pug down. After getting high quotes and the run around at other vets I went to V.V.H. There were NO EXTRA CHARGES to hold her on my lap when she was given the injection, they didnt put her through painful tests/exam but instead they listened to me and took my word that 7she was at the end of her life, and they only charged $45 (another vet quoted me $52 but b/c I wanted to be with her it was going to be $92...yep $40 extra to sit on a chair and give her comfort in the final moments of her life, now thats awful) ♥Dr V. and his Staff are #1 in Compassion, Grace, and Price. I brought my cat here for a surgery and I told them I could only afford $500. They told me they could do it, when I picked the cat up I was given a bill for close to $700. I paid it and took my cat home. Weeks went by and my cat had a severe limp which it did not have before, I took it back in and the doctor charged me another $20 to tell me that he hacked the surgery and the cat was permanently maimed. I asked for my money back and the doctor told me the only way he would give me my money back is if he could kill the cat since part of the surgery was successful. I would not trust these hacks to put an animal to sleep...

If youre looking for a five star veterinary clinic this is it! The staff is very friendly, efficient, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dr. Velardi is an excellent D.V.M. who has treated treated my two dogs and two cats for the past four years. I live in Oregon and came to Dr. Velardi initially because it was recommended by two colleagues as a veterinary hospital that gave first rate service at a fair price. They were right! You will be well please should you select the Vancouver Veterinary Hospital for you pets needs medical needs.

Ive been bringing my pets to Vancouver Veterinary Hospital since I moved to Vancouver 5 years ago. I tried a couple other nearby vets, however Dr. Velardi is one of the best vets Ive ever met. He adores animals, animals love him. He is reasonable, both in attitude and in price. Dont go here if you want someone who will gush over you and over-pamper your pet at high costs. Do go here if you want loving care for your pets - friendly staff, reasonable prices, and a top-quality vet.

Dr. Velardi and the staff at Vancouver Veterinary Hospital are fabulous. They inform, educate and have tons of patience for questions. We’ve been taking our dogs and cats there since moving to Vancouver in 2001. I always feel like I’ve made the right decision regarding care because Dr. Velardi is an excellent communicator and his staff are always helpful, even at the busiest of times. Thanks VVH, you make it worth it to own pets!
