I cant really say I loved being in the hospital. I have unfortunately had more than one stay. The last time I was in I found out how hard the Doctors tried to get to the bottom of what was wrong with me. I was blessed to have such a hardworking team behind my care. With the convoluted system that Doctors are forced to work under today it is hard to get some things accomplished unless there are certain criteria. Some ridiculous. It is called standard of care. Regional tries to push pass that and provide excellence. They have cutting edge medical technology and a caring staff who in my opinion is over worked. I was so lucky to have a team of doctors helping me. They even tried to get a procedure done on an emergency basis in order to help me. I appreciated their efforts. The insurance company is still not pushing it through, even though they know it would ease pain and help me in so many ways. At least they have assigned an advocate to my case. (Regence Blueshield) That was due to the efforts of several Doctors at Regional Hospital. Thank you Regional! Dr Jason Cundiff , Dr Bridgette Fiechtner, Dr Hibbs and the staff of nurses who worked tirelessly to make things happen. I have had several ER visits prior to being admitted and have accompanied an 88 year old to the ER. Every time they followed protocol and helped with the acceptation of on ER Doctor who took care of us several years apart. She is only an ARNP and in my opinion needs coaching on her bedside manner and compassion for people in pain. She didnt even bother to give an 88 year old woman lidocaine patches or anything else for pain after falling and getting 5 staples in her head and bruising her tailbone so badly that she could barely sit. I understand with her history that medications could have been questionable however lidoderm?? It took me 3 days of watching her suffer to figure that out. It was the same doctor who judged me very inaccurately and started a series of events that lead to serious kidney infection that required a 7 day hospital stay. Everyone else was amazing, cared and took very good care of us. This was over a course of years through administrative changes, changes in the medical system period. The level of care was unchanging and thorough. A wonderful staff of dozens should not be tainted by a few people who need coaching or to be sick and scared themselves to have more compassion. It astounds me how many people will go out of their way to write something negative but wont take the time to write something positive. Kudos Regional!

Ive lived next door to this hospital for 10 years now. I thought it would be nice to live next door to a hospital, but I have been constantly disappointed. Billing practices alone make it not worth going here! They sent my bill to collections and never billed my insurance company. Walked across the street and asked them and they lied to my face, telling me they had billed my insurance. It snowed several inches and they never shoveled the side walks. Then in got packed down and was pretty much a ice sidewalk. I went inside to ask them why they didnt shovel and again they lied to me and told me it was city property. Also on more then one occasion i have noticed a broken sprinkler head on their sprinkler system, flooding the road. I have gone in and told them that they have a broken sprinkler head, and would remain broken for weeks. Always pick up garbage around the hospital. They dont maintain it very well. It seems unacceptable that a hospital that make millions in profits does not maintain their facility.

I cant say anything positive about the so called standard of care at either Regional or Memorial hospitals. At Regional the ED staff really dislike patients coming in and disrupting gossip time, youll be lucky if you even see the doctor and before you know its time to get out because they really dont like patients especiall the elderly. Memorial doctors and nurses will lie to your face, profile you, and in some cases they will put you in a basement waiting area and hope you just go home because they have no intention of seeing you thats why they put you in the basement and I can prove everthing I have stated. Overall, health care in Yakima is deadly. Youll be better served in Sunnyside as they seem to actually care.

The ER nurse Christine whom attended my mother this morning 9/9 was very rude, my mother was having very heavy bleeding and pain and yet this nurse had the audacity to tell her that she should had waited for the clinic to open at 9am (although my mother told her she had been bleeding all night) and kept asking her if she wanted her to call her regular doctor obviously not wanting her to be there, she didnt care at all of what was going on and didnt care to show any "compassion" as this hospital claims to strive for. My sister called and spoke to supervisor and of course nurse denied it. My family will definitely NOT be returning to this hospital, thanks nurse Christine!

This is the worst facility I have ever been in. The staff dont respond to your call lights. They turn them off and never come into your room. A lot of the equipment there "doesnt work." I saw cockroaches on the floor. The room is filthy and some of the nurses were rude and honestly dont care about their patients. On the other hand: Tally, Tammy, Maria and Kristine were awesome. The care they provided was top notch. However, the night shift nurses were either overworked or didnt care about their patients. I tried speaking with management about my concerns. It was a waste of time.

Went here to find out if I was pregnant. Turns out I was positive and instead of having it be a happy experience I had a very unpersonal cold staff work with me. Holly the nurse asked the necessary questions she needed and gave me instructions so fast I could hardly understand her. I told both her and Dr John Zambito that I had a home test come out positive but since my miscarriage 3 months ago, I wanted confirmation. He told me I was positive and asked why I even came in and get me my results saying....."Heres this if it helps." Wish I had gone to memorial, very disappointed.

I took my 8 month old son in to the er with a horrible cough stuffy nose he would cry after coughing it hurt him so bad. They sent me home to do just Tylenol and a humidifier. A day later I took him to memorial hospital they found out he had the stomach flu and a virus in his lungs. I was so upset with this hospital cause they didnt do anything for him. They barley looked at him which was sad! I even went in for my eye and ear. They didnt do anything for me other and memorial helped me. Wont go here again. They are fast but they do nothing for me and my son.

This place used to be so nice now its just terrible... I called in the late evening just to see if a family member had checked in and the person who answered the phone had a ball game playing so loud in the background you couldnt hear a thing. She was super short with her answers an had an awful attitude when I gave her a second name that wasnt even the same as the first. She didnt even search for it she just told me they werent there either and hung up. Dont go here unless you like being treated like crap by rude people who lack any form of professionalism.
