When I started going here my kitten was ready to get her shots. She behaved perfectly while there and the staff seemed really nice. When it was time for her to get fixed and declawed she still was behaving with them. When I came back to pick her up the nurse asked me to go back and get her because she had been attacking everyone who went near her. When we got in back they had a towel covering the door to her cage so she couldnt see and she was the only one with this. She was surrounded by other animals in their own separate cages and they were all making a lot of noise around her. She had no problem with me picking her up until the nurse came to close while I was trying to put her in her travel carrier. I dont understand where this 180 of behavior could have come from. Shes a very social cat whos friendly to everyone! I know you could say it was the nerves from the surgery but having her locked in a cage surrounded by animals when shes used to being an only cat is rediculous! I specifically left one of my shirts in her carrier for after surgery to give her something familiar to have. A few months later I brought my cat in because she was throwing up and wouldnt leave the chair in the living room. She had not been eating or using the litter box in 3 days. I moved everything by her for it to be closer but she still wouldnt move. I brought her in to Eau Claire Animal Hospital I didnt have the money for a physical up front and I asked them for the paperwork to do a payment plan I got paid that Friday and would be able to pay up then. I was never given any paperwork and they took me immediately into a room to check my cat out. My first impression was that they were worried about my cat so they wanted to see her immediately. But that was until a nurse came in and asked me why I was here and who I thought I was demanding free services. It made me really angry to hear such accusations as well as embarrassing! Especially with people out in the waiting room that could have heard with how loudly this woman was speaking to me! After sitting there having her speak to me like that for 30 minutes they finally gave me the paperwork to fill out. The vet came in and barely looked at my cat and didnt even touch her and they charged me $100 without even giving me a diagnosis! I ended up going to a different vet to have her diagnosed and got her medicine. I was out of town when her 1 year shots were due and my parents ended up taking her back to Eau Claire Animal Hospital. My parents couldnt handle my cat there! Apparently she went crazy in the room and wouldnt let any of the vets touch her. My parents said that the appointment would have to wait until I got back and had a really hard time getting her back in her carrier to come home. I got another cat and brought her to the Eau Claire Animal Hospital for their Shot clinic. I got her out of a very abusive situation and had severe separation anxiety from me. I did not plan on bringing either of the cats there full time anymore. But I brought them both in for the clinic as I had just got major reduction of hours at work. My first cat couldnt handle the shots. My new cat wouldnt leave my arms. They did nothing but complain about her being so stubborn. I couldnt put her down as she had her claws in me the whole time. They jerked both the cats around instead of gently working with them. I have since switched to a different vet and I have had zero problems at this new vet and are willing to work with you on payment plans. They take their time and listen to my concerns and both cats love going to them with no problems. I do not reccomend Eau Claire Animal Hospital to anyone who asks with the multiple bad experiences Ive had with them.

Good for basic care. Anything other than that, forget it. I had my cat in for a wellness check Friday where they just looked at her and petted her. Didnt even take her temp. On the way home, she got very sick in my car (very unusual for her). The next day (Saturday), she was still sick, so I called them and told them her symptoms. I brought up my concerns about my cats health with two different staff members that answered the phones about what it might be, and neither seemed concerned with my cats symptoms. I basically had to ask them if I could get her a fecal test because she was not improving. Between the wellness check and the test, I had already spent $100. A day later (today), her symptoms got even worse, so I took her to an ER vet in Menomonie, who was concerned about her symptoms and not only listened to what I had to say but examined her for what I thought she might have. Low and behold, my assumption was correct. He also ran blood work to rule out other issues and is running another test to rule out both bacterial and parasitic infections for cheaper than the test ECAH was charging me for screening for 4 infections. He even gave us two prescriptions to treat her symptoms in the meantime and sent us home with some easy-to-digest food. Lets just say, Im not terribly happy with this outcome. Those people that answer the phones really need to brush up on their animal health knowledge because my cat could have gotten a terrible infection or required surgery to fix something that they said "was not concerning."

I worked for a veterinarian for many years when I was in my twenties and am very particular who I take my animals to. I saw good reviews of this clinic and have been going here for about 10 years now. We normally see Dr. Bohl but have also seen several of the other vets when she has not been in. Dr. Bohl treats you and your pets like family and truly cares about you and your pets. Recently had to put my senior cat Winston down and the EC Animal Clinic handles this with such finesse. This is the 3rd euthanasia I have been a part of at this clinic and they do it with such care and respect for you and your pet. My cat Winston that just passed, had numerous health issues over the course of his lifetime and he had several dental surgeries as well as emergency care, my other cat recently was seen through the urgent care by Dr. Gooden. He was severly ill with Pancreatitis and she took extremely good care of him. I have had contact with several of the vet techs and they are all super friendly and professional. Before switching to this clinic I compared prices and many clinics and they are all about the same when you average things out, what is not the same is the service and quality of care you will receive. Pretty much the entire staff knows me by name now and they are a great group of people. They care about animals and people!

Ive been going to Ec Animal Hospital for many years, it wasnt until recently I decided to try a different animal hospital for my animals. I will agree that they are very professional, friendly and somewhat reAsonably priced. But Ive had them care for my 4 animals for 10+ years, I feel as though they could never properly diagnose my pets when they were ill and would just recommend testing upon testing and never solved the problems because it was too expensive. One of my pets probably lost years of her life because she had Been givin the wrong dose of insulin. We just recently lost our last pet member of our family mostly from a reason we were aware of, but they suggested to keep him over the weekend so he could have an IV and that he would recover. But instead we got an early morning phone call saying he passed away. Yes, Im a little upset. But I also feel like I dont and never will have the answers I need. Now we are starting fresh with a new dog and Im sorry to say I wont be returning to ECAH. The staff really are nice people. The service wasnt great.
