DONT GO THERE! The facility is dirty with roaming animals, but I was willing to overlook that. My coonhound has allergies and when the staff suggested a monthly allergy pill for $114 a month I mentioned that I am not in a financial position to do that. They were ok with OTC Benadryl to manage her needs. When that didnt work I brought her back in to be more aggressive and they prescribed 2 pills and a regular medicated wash (totally over $245). It wasnt until paying that I learned 1 of the Rxs was the $114 pill set again. It was as if they were withholding the information to "wallet shame" me at the counter. When I ran out of my first 8oz bottle of medicated shampoo I looked online for a cheaper and larger bottle (since we would use it so often) and successfully found one. It wasnt until a week after purchase when I called the online company about shipping and learned MY VET had denied the purchase! The comment on the account stated: the Vet sells the shampoo in store so would not authorize purchase elsewhere. This might be how YOU do business but it certainly is NOT how I do mine. I will meet the needs of my animal AND be fiscally minded ELSEWHERE! Go take someone elses money! You wont be getting any more of mine.

I am a student here in IC, and my cat needs special food for his bladder. I come from a small town in eastern Iowa and that is where my vet is, and dont always have time to make it back home to get his food. I called this vet and they said I could purchase his there. The second time I went back, the receptionist treated me horribly. Acted as if I didnt exists, then finally told me she couldnt sell me his food. Gave me a guilt trip about how she could lose her job (for apparently making her vet $50 on food?), that its cruel of me to not give my cat his food (he ran out last night, and with work and school I just now had time to get there), and saying to never come back because they cant sell me food ever again. Even though I could go to any other vet in IC to get food, that is just the one closest to my place. I have never written a review before but felt very strongly I should. I have never been treated so poorly at a vet.

We have known Dr. Mary Ebert for over 15 years and she has cared for our many pets during those years. Dr. Mary and her staff go beyond what might be expected of them. They are always concerned about our pets and our family. When we have had an "emergency" it has always been taken care of and we were reassured. When one of our pets passed away, we were comforted to know they received the very best pallative care possible. We would recommend Dr. Mary Ebert, Gentle Heart Pet Clinic and her staff to everyone. Mary is a great doctor but when I recently called about scheduling my pet for a procedure and asked what it may cost I was given major attitiude and was clearly judged for mearly asking for a price quote. She acted as if everyone should clearly be able to spend thousands on an ailing pet. Should have written sooner as this receptionist has never been very friendly. They do make happy pills now. Mary you clearly need a new receptionist, preferably one that is non judgemental and likes the public.

Wonderful staff who genuinely care about animals. Dr. Mary is fantastic and is always willing to answer questions and you dont feel rushed whatsoever during your visit. She has a way with pets that make them feel calm and supported during their visit- our puppy didnt even flinch during his shots! Im surprised to hear others say the facility is dirty as it has always been clean and sanitary during our visits. I would highly recommend this place.

I have had nothing but excellent experiences here as a new customer. They have always been more than nice to me and my lil pal. Great service, very informative on situations, excellent on answering questions and making you feel better as a fuzzy lover parent. Very reasonable pricing, easy to make appointments, and would recommend it to anyone! Its wonderful to know you are going to a place that actually loves and cares for animals!

I had my puppy vaccinated and fixed at this vet early in the year. I called back a few months later to discuss stool problems. They told me I was not a patient of theirs three times, I asked them to check again and to verify their location......the girl said "lose the attitude, I dont have to take this" Turns out they misspelled my name and blamed me for it. Lost a customer there folks, up yours.

Dr. Mary and her staff are wonderful! She genuinely cares, is very knowledgeable and is passionate about her profession. My puppy didnt even realize he had shots done! There are even some friendly furry family members that welcome you as you are in the waiting area! Highly recommend

We came in late one after and needed emergency help. Both the vet and her tech stayed after close to help and treated my pets most immediate needs before sending me to an emergency care clinic. Fair pricing and friendly service. Highly recommended.

I would give zero stars if I could. The ENTIRE staff IS SO RUDE. DO NOT GO HERE unless you wanted to be belittled and treated horribly.
