Terrible, terrible, terrible. It is Memorial Day and my family is sitting anxiously waiting to make sure that Comfort Keepers is actually going to show up to care for our loved one. My elderly mother hired Comfort Keepers to provide 24-7 in house care for my 92 year old grandmother. Well, today no one showed up. AGAIN, that is right this isnt the first time. UNBELIEVABLE The base rate is $25 an hour(I hear the care providers only get about $10 an hour), today Comfort Keepers is charging $50 an hour AND NO ONE SHOWED UP. While the care providers themselves are friendly, they are the only reason my family has stayed with the company. This is a very hard time in our familys life and it has been made worse by the lack of management and dishonest things done by Comfort Keepers. My mother is honestly scared that I am posting this because she believes that the company is so manipulative that they may stop showing up all together if they see weve posted this. Our entire family of 10 is waiting for a call back to see if they are actually going to find someone to provide my grandmother care. Otherwise we need to drive in from out of town. It is painful enough to try and manage end of life care for a loved one, much less feeling helpless and used by this company. And by the way, the reviews below me seem fake and written by the same person. Notice none have names linked to personal accounts and almost all of them are written by someone that is leaving a remark about more than one location of Comfort Keepers, BUT no remarks about any other company. SAD If you are looking for help for your loved one, please keep looking and have zero tolerance because once they start playing games like this it only gets worse. No one should go through this.

Just as a first hand experience... I once worked at this company my self, and the process of getting a job with them is not as easy as one would describe, there are multiple screenings including a background and drug test that a person being employed by comfort keepers will have to go through. On top of this continued training for the caregivers is always encouraged and they will go as far to help pay for classes to excel and grow. People have to understand that one employees actions does not represent the whole company, they are individuals that make their own choices and in return will suffer the consequences. I can whole heartily say this is one of the few companies that worked for that actually had ethics instead of a strict profit motive.

I tried to utilize this company for services for my patients and their families. They dont understand how to work with other agencies in collaborative service . They actually talk back to you when you try and tell them that they need to communicate and clear orders/invoices notices and service arrangements with the patient/family. Here I am providing them with a referral and they cant process/produce results. The actual caregivers can be wonderful, but are stuck working through these morons.

Do not hire them!!!!!! We had to fire our mothers caregiver after working with us for a few months. The caregiver tried to manipulate our very sick mother into giving her extra money and purchasing her groceries. She also stole several expensive items from our home (camera equipment, headphones). We found out after firing her that she had been arrested for shoplifting within the prior year. They do not screen their workers. Do not use them.

My experience with Comfort Keepers has been very positive. It is nice to be part of an organization that cares about there clients well being. Each person seems to take a personalized approach to clients needs. I believe that is what really sets it apart from other agencies. I would recommend the services to any of my own family or friends.
