I recently brought my newly adopted dog for an exam. I could not have had a more frustrating experience. My new dog is a Pit Bull who was a stray picked up by animal control. While at the shelter, he picked up a bad case of kennel cough. I also found he has pretty bad separation anxiety after bringing him home. Given all these factors, naturally I had a lot of questions about how to best care for and train my new pet. The vet answered absolutely none of them. First of all, she seemed extremely disinterested and even somewhat irritated right from the start. Then, when I began to ask a few questions, she gave the most vague responses possible. For example, I asked "The shelter estimated him to be about a year old. What do you think?" She responds: "Sure, I could see that" while just glancing at my dog and not even looking at his teeth or anything. I asked "We have another dog at home who has been vaccinated against bordatella, but still Im concerned he could catch kennel cough. How protective is the vaccine against the disease?" She responds, "Well no company is going to guarantee complete protection against anything." I understand that, but still different vaccines have different degrees of efficacy. She offered no insight as to how common it is for a vaccinated dog to get kennel cough. There were also a few hairless areas on my dogs ears and tail where the skin is somewhat rough. I asked her if it was just allergies, or could be a fungal infection. She says, "It could be ringworm, but allergies is probably more likely." I knew that - thats why I was asking the vet which it was! Regarding my dogs antibiotics, he was sent home from the shelter with minocycline. The vet said she usually uses doxycycline for kennel cough. So, I asked if he should switch or if there is any reason doxycycline is better. She told me, "They are the same thing, thats just the generic." I am a Physician Assistant - while these two drugs are indeed in the same class, they are not the same medication. I still had other questions to ask regarding my dogs incision from his neuter procedure and his separation anxiety, however the vet interrupted saying she was going to step out to get the new antibiotic and cough suppressant she prescribed. She never came back! She sent the vet tech in with the meds and my appointment was apparently over. I thought this was quite rude. I left essentially with no more information than I had come in with. I am never taking either of my dogs here again!

My family took our family pets here for years. Was extremely disapointed when we euthanized our family dog by a comment the vet made. We were lying on the floor with our dog, crying, and petting our dog, saying our goodbyes, and telling her it was ok, and we loved her. He told us that we should not tell her those comments-that comments like those can actually scare an animal. Tell us that at a different time! I took my own dog there a few months ago after moving back to the area and was also disapointed. The reception staff was not friendly and did not ask me a single question about my pet, and I was the only person there. My dog has a lot of environmental allergies, and all they could tell was to use their food. I dont like how they only recommned their food, because that is who they are endorsed to sell. The food is way too high in fillers. I would never use it. Also found them extremely overpriced. Luckily found a great vet in the area that was very friendly, helpful, affordable and knew exactly how to address the environmental allergies.

We take our cat here, and used to take our dog. Theyre a little unrealistic in their prices, and are quick to give services that arent necessary. For example, we brought the dog in for an ear infection, and they gave her a physical/fetal floation test... etc. A month later they mailed that she was due for a physical, so I took her in an had all the same tests over again. And they insisted on it. I compared the two bills and steam was coming out my ears. They also will try to sell food and medical stuff that you dont need, when I bought some stomach medication they insisted I gave it with some food they sell. Two grand and two years later, I found another vet nearby who it a little more understanding that yes, you want the best care for your pet but in a family with children money doesnt grow on trees.

I adopted my cat over a year ago and after researching a couple vets in the area, I settled on Tosa Vet because of the convenience of being closer to home. The staff and Dr. Binor are always thorough and friendly. I feel that they are always genuinely looking out for the best care of my feline friend and never rush me through the appointment if I have questions or concerns. Several months ago my cat experienced a urinary blockage and had to have a procedure at a 24/7 animal hospital over the weekend. Dr. Binor called me immediately that Monday morning to check in on my cat and she followed up with me a few days later. Im not sure how other vet rates in the immediate area compare but I will gladly pay a little extra for the positive experience and complete comfort knowing my furry friend is in great hands!

Everyone at the Wauwatosa Veterinary Clinic is very helpful and friendly. We have two dogs, both of which see Dr. Volkers. She always takes her time with them, which is appreciated because our oldest dog is very skiddish and gets scared. As for our youngest dog, she suffers from allergies and it was recommended that we change her food to a limited ingredient diet of unique proteins. We were not pushed to use the food they offer. They have handled some of our toughest situations (hit by a car and cancer) with not only quick actions and helpful information, but empathy and a willingness to sit down and take the time to answer all of our many questions.

Our life has greatly improved since switching to Wauwatosa Veterinary Clinic. We used to take our "fur babies" to a well-known clinic in West Allis. However, the level of service drastically declined over the years. The receptionists were rude and the vets were constantly finding problem$$$ with our healthy pets. We finally made the switch to Wauwatosa Veterinary Clinic 4 years ago and it was the best decision we made for our animals. The staff is wonderful. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. More importantly, the vets are skilled, compassionate and trustworthy.

I have been bringing my pets to Wauwatosa Vet for many years. The staff and doctors are very compassionate and patient. They know my pets well and remember the different issues that either may have. The only improvement that can be considered is in the physical space. It can get cramped if there are many clients at one time, and since most pets want to play with the others, it can get a little crazy; or for sick pets, they become more anxious with the other animals around. As for the clinical care, I trust the care of my pets to the wonderful professionals at Wauwatosa Vet!
