My fiancée goes to him when she cant get an appointment with the other doctor there. Just yesterday, she went to follow up an issue that urgent care found. When we told him what they suspected the (possibly very serious) issue was, he scoffed. One of her problems was leg swelling. He didnt check her legs until the end of the appointment when she had to actually ask what she should do for them. That was only after slamming his mouse down onto the desk and remaining silent for at least two minutes while staring at the computer. He doesnt care about his patients at all. She is going to now go to my doctor because just the chance of having to see him over her regular doctor is enough to change offices.

He is horrible, I was there for a physical (fasting for blood) I was called into a hour after my appt. He has students working there, one guy was a student he didnt tell me he was or his name (its against the law). He walks in and asked if I need refills on meds if I was a druggie then I would of told him yes. No one took my vitals until I yelled at the dr and he still didnt do all vital .didnt check my eye my temperature my hight, my nose my throat. He didnt ask my family history and when I brought it up to him he asked me if there was anything seriously. He didnt even ask my health history. I DON NOT RECOMMEND

Dr. Vikas Desai (Desai), the principal of Desai MD, P.C. d/b/a East Islip Family Care (EIFC), and Dr. Robert Maccone, a physician who was previously affiliated with EIFC, have entered into separate civil settlement agreements in which they have collectively agreed to pay the United States a total of $1,120,299 to resolve allegations that they submitted claims to Medicare for nerve conduction studies (NCVs) that were not medically necessary. I second the "useless schmuck " comment below. Really bad , really.

I went to Dr. Desai in East Islip today. I been using this office for 15+ years He also had an office in Farmingville which is closer to my new home. I went there twice since I moved. Well they are closed today so normally I called East Islip when I got there I was told they cant see me since I went to Farmingville! They cant transfer my records back and forth. I asked you really wont see me?!? You would rather I go to urgent care?!? She said yes! Now really is that compassion !? Is that anyway to treat a patient! Shame on you !!!!

I was going to see Dr. Desai for a pre screening for surgery on my right shoulder. The staff was not very comforting nor a tentative. They forgot to do the urinalysis and I as the patient had to tell them that it needed to be done. I have to be honest, you would think that going to a doctors office, that they would be a little bit friendlier and compassionate towards the patient especially one who is having surgery. It was the complete opposite. I would not recommend this Dr. but everyones experience is different.

Up until last year I was very happy there, but now, I have actually switched doctors because of the way I was spoken to on the phone. They practically called me a liar when I said I was there on a certain date, they said no you werent...I had the fee on my checking acct, and the RX they gave me that day, and they still would not acknowledge that I was there....Staff is not nice at all...New DR awesome!

In my opinion the most uncaring unprofessional staff i have ever met - requests for renewals from my pharmacy were never answered, prior authorization requests never responded to called 8 - 10 times for help was totally useless nurse very rude & nasty on first visit because she thought i left the bathroom door open but my bill was always on time. save yourself the grief
