If I could give Good Sam negative stars I would. My last visit was the end of my patience with them. Previous experiences have not been great but I had hoped the ER would be different. I was with my 11 year old daughter who was in extreme pain. They placed us in the hallway even though their were plenty of empty rooms. We were given the opportunity to move into a room only when an emotionally disturbed male patient who they did not know how he would react needed the bathroom. The doctor was absolutely the worst doctor I have ever had the expierence of coming in contact with. He ordered two tests and ignored us. The nurses had to ask repeatedly for us to be seen. We arrived at 8am. Tests were ordered at 11:30am. After several nurses begging him and already telling me the results he graved us with his presence at 2:45pm. He left my daughter in such anxiety she asked me if she was going to die. Two times during his "conversation" with my daughter and I he left to take calls on his cellphone. Patient advocate was not helpful. Just listened. In an effort just get her home because I was convinced they were only hurting her more, I asked for discharge papers. The doctor again tried to speak to me. I explained to him we had nothing more to say. As I was trying to say this his phone rang again and again he answered it, this time telling me to wait for him. After almost 7 hours I was done waiting. His inability to care, as well as his lectures of the purpose on and ER (which apparently we did not meet as my daughter was not crazy!) left me wondering what exactly Good Sam is hoping to accomplish with him on staff. To make matters worse they would not release their records when she was admitted the next day to Westchester Medical for a multi-family stay. If you value your health and/or value your loved ones health please go to a hospital that cares about their patients. Good Sam just cares about money and their doctors just care about only dealing with trama even though they are no where near the top of the list for trama centers in the area.

THE WORSE HOSPITAL EVER! My brother has been there for 2 weeks, In the critical care unit. Any other Hospital , when someone is that sick you can visit at anytime. Here you cant enter till 10am. I asked to speak with the doctors, they sat me in a waiting area at 7;45am and finally at :40, I got mad and went to nurses station. All the doctors had left. I was then told he needed a trek put in, I said I wanted to speak to the doctor first. They told me it needed to be done asap and would call me right away. Well I never received the right away call. The next day I went to visit my brother and mysteriously he was breathing on his own!!! But just 12 hours earlier, he needed this trek. 3 days later, I got calls from the nurse, that we should consider a defibrillator, the his heart could use it. Once again, I asked to speak to the doctor first. They had a specialist call me and he said. That he doesnt know why my brother was even offered the defibrillator. That his body and heart where way to weak and that would make the matter worse. Just called to speak to a supervisor and guess what? Yes I was sent to voicemail. IF YOU LOVE AND RESPECT YOUR LOVED ONES....DO NOT SEND THEM THERE!!! I CALLED THERE EVERYDAY WHEN WE COULDNT GO AND WAS TOLD, HE WAS DOING WELL AND GETTING BETTER.

Im 19. I went to the ER with chest pain, jaw pain, and heart palpitations. When I walked in at 650AM I was told to go into room 9 for my EKG. OKay, no problem. I walked in and pulled out my phone to update my mom. The tech walked in and said "you need an EKG right? So put down the phone get on the bed and open your shirt I only have 10 minutes" the eKG had to be done several times because of error. I spoke to the doctor one time she asked for no medical history and instantly said "youre having a panic attack." Im a person who personally feels as though I do a great job at keeping my emotions at healthy levels. I sat in the room for ours with a needle in my arm that was not connected to an IV line. (She did take a few tubes of blood) I was not connected to any monitors. No meds. No one spoke to me. No one updated me. And at about 3PM a different nurse came in and said "uh the doctor said you can go now" she unhooked me. Took the needle out. Handed me blood work and sent me home. And that was it. I returned hours later with my mom because I was swelling and retaining water. And the same nurses who completely ignored me were extremely attentive. I figure that they ignored me because they saw I was young.

They dont deserve any stars and i say (THEY) because their a TEAM, or are they? Today is Febuary 2nd 2017 and i went into the ER due to pain. ive had lupus for 10 years and recently its been flaring for about 3 weeks straight. i was also in a car acident Febuary 1st 2017 and it caused my lupus to flare as well as increase the pain. long story short i had explained exactly what has been going on and was told nothing could have been don. she as in the doctor wanted to give me steroids and then send me home in which i refused. ive had fluid around my heart prior and been having similar symptoms, but she refuse to do any type of blood work she mentioned there was no point because it wouldnt be in anyways no x ray for my neck and or chest nothing was done when she came back into the room she gave me my discharge papers and said i could leave without asking me to sign the dischaarge papers. my wrist band wasnt checked as should be to see if i was the patient. my mother and little sister was also being seen due to the car accident and she did nothing for them as well besides offer drugs for the pain.

This hospital charged patients with big surcharges without knowledge to the patients and health insurance companies. When a service person of a health insurance asked them why and how they had a big surcharge to patients, the hospital accounting person said it is NYs law and every NY hospital does surcharge to their patients. It is absolutely not true. Two months ago, I had cardiology examination in a hospital in Westchester County, NY, where is not too far from the Good Samaritan Hospital. The hospital did not have any surcharge to me and they accepted what health insurance adjusted. If you do not want to pay big surcharge which is never told you before the treatment, do not go to this hospital. Except the big surcharge, I would not say any good words for this hospital. About 5 years ago, my friend had been sent to this hospital and stayed in two days, no any nurses to see him except doctor visiting in the morning. So he decided to leave this hospital earlier in the morning of following day. No more will be in this hospital in the future !!!
