Disclaimer: In my 30+ years of existence on this planet, it is only extreme circumstances do I feel compelled to share a story in hopes to save a small amount of other peoples time, money and regret from my own objective (factual) experience. Yes, you may look at the length of my feedback and move on, but I truly hope you spend just a few minutes reading to avoid the HUGE mistake for your animal as I did trusting Mattydale Animal Hospital with my pet(s). Needless to say, I have been a "customer" (not a client or dogs are "patients" of this so-called clinic. First of all, calling this establishment anything more than an upselling, money-grubbing animal house would be a blatant LIE. Suffice to say, I took my pets routinely to these people for over 10 years and throughout this time most of the staff was either rude or too busy to even crack a smile, let alone even know any of thier "customers" or even show they care. Now mind you, there is a initial friendliness when scheduling an appointments (knowing more revenue is calling with their wallets). On arrival, (every single time) someone yells from behind a glass window "put your dog/cat on the scale (for weight) for me!". Only to turn around and wait with your pet for 30, 45 min and even over hour... Finally to bring you into a room, where everytime a tech/assistant tries to "sell" you on a ungodly amount of things partially necessary. After this occurs maybe another 20-45 minutes go by until the "Doctor" arrives.... You are extremely lucky if she/he spends more than 2 minutes examining your pet, to once again be told 30 things are in need during the visit. After rejecting all unnecessary treatment ...getting a feeling as if your at car repair shop... They send thr assistant back in again to "pitch" you again only to reject, are asked to promptly pay your bill and shoved you out the front door. Please be aware I am mindful of most veterinary locations are a business, they "want to ensure safety, health and wellness of our pets, but I am aware of this caring-type service for an animal or just when they are trying to grab your wallet. Now if my experience were just based upon this, my story would not be on here. Throughout ten years... Some may wonder why I went there for so long getting treatment in this fashion; Well, it takes a lot for me to change, they do offer quick appointments and are open later. But realizing now: likely because they do not have a lot of repeat customers and/or maybe many others have heard about these guys around town. Just a few examples of MANY I could list....They still call the wrong person about updates (attempting to schedule another appointment= $$$) have sent several certified letters to clarify and nothing has changed), they have blatantly lied about "selling" myself medications for $20-$100 a whack when checking out, that I literally could have purchased for next to nothing otherwise, already had medication to be sold more (Ex. Paid large amount at onsite for prednisone (steroids) and several months later sold me more saying Was different prednisone but same bottle/same pills), turned me away as one of my dogs was literally dying to say its 4:45PM "we cant help you look somewhere else", staff speaks to you in a condescending tone (while you smile and say please), front office TEAM acts as if you are annoying them trying to pay a bill, and lastly Mattydale TEAM would have you come visit as much as you are willing to let them milk you dry-- lets just say...In this last stretch with Mattydale, I was in their office 4 times in a month over one medication, in which, my pet has been on for 5+ years. Even then, they lied to me over and over again about NY state prescription laws. Ultimately I changed To another Vet they were unbearably rude when I politely asked for pets file to transfer. If your looking at Mattydale for care of your pet, I suggest you do the same...RUN FAST and far away from Mattydale Animal Hospital. Crooks!

This animal hospital treats exotics--which is the only reason I go there. They overcharge and will give animals various treatments without consulting you first. I had one vet tell me that my cats ears were clean on the inside, but shed give the ears a "rinsing" anyway. When I got the bill they charged $28 for an ear cleaning I didnt need. If you want a prescription from this vet, forget it. My cat needs a special diet--and for every case you buy online you need a new prescription. Mattydale charges $13 for each prescription you get. Id be paying $150 a year for PERMISSION to buy my cat special food online. They gave me the wrong dosage of antibiotics for my chinchilla, which ended up playing a large role in his death. If you dont have exotics, find a better vet. Even for exotics--this is probably not the place to go.

Beyond belief that anyone would not understand that an emergency takes precedence over the regularly scheduled appointments...shame on all of you. I have experienced the same and have enough compassion to be more concerned for the animal in need and wait. Noones time is more valuable than the life of an animal. I am in rescue and have used this vet for decades....even before Dr L and Dr W....they have seen countless dogs and have worked with me on alternative methods and allowed for thorough, progressive research. Fees? I have even shopped around and the pricing is consistent with those in the area. I am a well seasoned dog person and experienced in German Shepherds...wont go anywhere else.... I am very thankful for all they do...

I have been at MAH since it was opened by Dr. Wester. Drs. Taylor, King and Leskevich have all run that hospital with the highest degree of professionalism. Veterinarian medicine has evolved and with it comes the same problems as humans face with how much treatment are we willing to order and pay for. They have never done a test without asking me and at some point I wish they had said I should let go--I admit that I now find it easier to make those decisions. The front office has had problems over the years, but those folks are gone. MAH has the best vets and techs and I have no reservations taking pets there.

I took my cat in for a hyperthyroid problem. I felt that the Vet was more interested in making money than helping to care for my elderly cat. She made me test the cat several times before I said I would not perform the same test again, and come away with the same results and prescription for the problem. They also charged me for each prescription, even when I used an online service to fill the medication. I am currently looking for a new Vet for my three cats.

I live very close too MAH. But sometimes convenience isnt always best...I really didnt care for it there..they basically charge you for things that your animal may not even need. But when they wanted $52 dollars too cut my 2 Chiauahas nails...I new I was being hustled. My furbabies have a new Veterinarian and they are healthy and happy and I still have a little dough in my pocket.

EXCEPTIONAL care and concern for my pets. I am treated with respect and when I am in the room with a DR I get their full time and attention. I am always informed of prices and services so I can do whats best for my pet within my budget. My entire family goes there and we couldnt be happier with their service. Thank you DR Leshkivich and staff.
