After going to another vet with my first puppy, leaving with unanswered questions, and not getting the compassion I felt like he deserved from a serious heart condition at his age I decided to go to another vet in Tuscaloosa for a second opinion and Im so glad I did. Indian Hills was so great to my first puppy and has been just as good my current one. Every time I come in the staff is so friendly and accomidating. They will walk over just to pet him and say how handsome he is. They all clearly love animals and care beyond what just a job would require. I havent had a single bad experience there that they could help and even when I had to come in to put my first puppy down at 17 weeks old Dr. Smith stayed with me after they closed and let me have my time to come to terms with what was happening while giving me comforting words. Even today when I came in to get treatment for my current puppy they all listened to my concerns about antibiotics destroying all the good bacteria in my dogs stomach and gave me some probiotics to help him. Indian Hills is definitely my go to choice for a vet in Alabama.

STAY FAR AWAY!! they are all smiles with bad ethics. I would not wish anyone on this horribly ethical place. I had an emergency shortly before they were closing. My dog was seriously wounded and needed medical attention. They looked at her and gave an assessment then told me i needed to take her to the after hours clinic because they were closing. WTH!! What kind of ethical vow did this doctor take?!?! Then they slapped a $600+ bill on me. Are you insane, you just pushed me out the door after an x ray and some pain killers. My dog was dying. It will be my mission to have this doctors(one from a year ago, female, but Im sure the same lousy staff is there) license revoked. On top of that the sleazy vet tech reported my dog because she bit me while in shock, seconds after she was hit by a car, so after she was eventually put down the state took her from me to cut her open and look for rabies. Which is a backdoor for the government to do animal testing. She had up to date shots and results were negative. STAY WAY !!!

I had scheduled about 2 weeks ago an appointment to have my dogs teeth cleaned. I received a quote in the amount of $180.00. About a week ago the office called me and told me that my quote was incorrect and that the new quote would be $309.00 Today 03/16/15 the offfice called me again (let the phone ring only once) and told me that the quote has changed to around $500.00. Now this price doesnt include hospitalization or any extras. When I let the lady in the office know that my dog will not stay over night she replied; we have 7 surgeries for that day and we cant promise you anything. Which to me means well I guess your dog will stay overnight and you will have additional charges. I am looking at my quote which I received about two weeks ago and in the price of $180.00 the hospitalization for that day is included. Since the teeth cleaning supposed to be done on 03/18/15 I have decided not to go with this animal clinic since I might land up paying more than I should!

My 2 cats were treated first last summer for flea bite allergy skin problems. Two brutal summers battling this problem with little help from vets we saw. I met Jonathan, Vet Tech at Emergivet and was so impressed with his manner that when I found out he also works full time for Dr. Phillip Smith I made a follow up appointment for both cats to be seen. They changed their topical flea Rx, gave them combination cocktail injections and within a week problems resolved and stayed resolved all summer. Before we could get our 12 yr old standard dachshund in for a geriatric evaluation as planned, he had to be seen following a first time acute pancreatitis episode that came on when we were traveling. His treatment by Dr.Smith and staff was thorough, compassionate, and confidence inspiring to anxious owners with a very ill dog. We are happy to have found him and everyone who works there to deliver the vet care we expected but had been unable to find.

Dr. Smith and his staff took excellent care of my dog while she was undergoing cancer treatment. They were able to administer her chemotherapy, which was great because the other option was driving to Mississippi State every week (MSU is also amazing). They called to check on her when she wasnt doing very well and were always very sweet and loving with her when we brought her in. On top of that, they were extremely knowledgeable about her condition and were very helpful with all the questions we had. I highly recommend them and will be taking all future pets to them.

Took my dog there. I had an appointment at 4:00, didnt see the doctor until nearly 5. The doctor was friendly and answered my questions, but everything seemed rushed. They tried to scare me into getting my dog spayed at their facility, telling horror stories of spayings at the discounted place, only problem was that the cost for spaying my dog at their facility was upwards of $350 and the horror stories were, as far as I could tell, untrue. As a student, I did not appreciate the pressure to spend money that I faced here.

I HIGHLY recommend Indian Hills Animal Clinic in Northport. They are the sweetest vets I have ever been in contact with. He took a lot of time to explain everything to me and really seemed to care about my ferret, Scout. They may be more expensive than other vets, but I know that my animal and myself got the treatment we deserved there. All of the staff was excellent! Even though it was my first visit I was treated like family and so was my little fuz-butt! Worth every penny. I will be using them again.

I take both of my dogs here. They are wonderful people and love animals. They are very helpful and do all that they can to make my dogs as comfortable as possible! I can call them at anytime with my questions and they never disappoint. They are a little pricy.. However I took them somewhere less pricy and will never do it again! You have to ask yourself would YOU go to a doctor you didnt like again? then why should you take your animals somewhere they didnt like.

Because of your review I will DEFINATELY use them as a kennel because they were very nice to you and your cat. I dont need any Advantage off of the internet so I am not worried about that at all. The fact that they didnt want to provide a prescription for online drugs is completely understandable. You shouldnt be a pouty woman about it and deny them your future business over such a petty reason.

Dr. Smith is one of the best vets I have ever had. Dr. Smith has always gone the extra mile for us even when I am out of state, and at another vets office! Dr. Smith has a really great "bed side manner" with my pets, and I NEVER doubt of leave the office anxious. I wish that Dr. Smith and Dr. Rahm were in my town year round, rather then once a year.
