I would give 5 stars but took one away for the rude receptionist whose name I am not going to mention, but should know to whom I am talking about. From the moment my dog came in for emergency surgery at Power Road Animal Hospital for a bladder stone removal and neuter, the Doctors, Surgical assistants, Chris, the techs, the front desk greeting were their normal exceptional caring service (5 stars). Things began to deteriorate after surgery over the weekend, my dog was going downhill fast, loosing a lot of blood each time he urinated, pale tongue, and 9 days since last BM. I called at 7:30am Monday morning to voice my concern that my dog needed to see a doctor stat. However, this call taken by this rude receptionist was dismissive and insisted my dog was to be seen at 2:00 pm. I asked if there were any earlier appointments which she replied yes, but since mine was post operative, my dog had to be seen later in the day. Several times I told her his condition and was met with rudeness. My end reply to her was, "I guess my dog wont be dead by 2:00 pm." I arrived at my appointment several minutes early because of the anxiety all day to get help for my dog. By the time the doctor came in to evaluate him, ran a blood test and x-ray, it was too late in the day to treat him as they were closing and the treatment would take them past closing time. I was told he needed to have a blood transfusion from all the blood he lost since surgery and was told I would have to take him to an after hour Vet ER. After the appointment, we drove him immediately to the 24hr ER. In hindsight, I should have drove him to the vets office that morning anyways insisting he needed to see the Vet since they did the surgery. By that night at 4:30 am, I received the call from the ER that no one should have to receive, he had died. The time that poor dog had to wait for his appointment and treatment could have made all the difference in him surviving the complications he received from surgery. I will always hold a special place in my heart for that rude receptionist who would not make an emergency post-surgery appointment first thing that morning when I had called. Cost: Diagnoses, surgery, post surgery blood test & x-ray) about $2,300 ER: Just over $1,250 (includes pre - ER diagnoses and post surgery emergency treatment and care) Took away an additional star because I had to take my dog elsewhere to have emergency post surgery treatment and care. Note: Later in the morning, the vet did call me to express their condolences for the loss of my dog and suggested he probably needed a specialist since there could have been an underlying problem as they were concerned about it before surgery. It was very nice of them to call to let me know what they felt went wrong. My past experience, except for that receptionist, everyone has been kind and compassionate towards my four dogs.

I got a puppy about 3 months ago and was looking around online to find a great place to take him to, to get his shots and neuter. I found this hospital and its rating were pretty good compared to other hospitals. So I called and asked about pricing and they said they had a puppy plan that included everything, shots, neuter, nail clippings, etc. I went in for a consultation and they specifically told me, you will have 4 appointments about 3 to 4 weeks apart, and only pay $110 per visit. I asked them if that included the neuter and chip as well? Because that seemed like a lot of money for just shots and nails clipped. And the man said yes it includes everything, and youll only have to pay the 4 payments of $110 and your good. So I thought ok that seems like a pretty good deal. They even gave me a paper listing the 4 appointments and which appointment covered what. I just had my 4th appointment, expecting to get his neuter that day. And they said oh no we are just doing his last shots today, you have to schedule his neuter separately. Which is fine, it would have been nice for them to tell me that at my last appointment though. So I go to check out and I asked to schedule for his neuter and then just to be sure I told them, I dont have to pay for his next visit right because his neuter was included in the puppy plan that I got right? And the front desk girl, (who clearly hates her job because she is NEVER friendly or smiles ever anytime I see her) she says um no you have to pay for the neuter separately.. you only get a discount because you did the puppy plan. And thats literally all she said to me. I was so livid pissed! I wouldnt have done the stupid plan if I had known the neuter wasnt included, I literally paid to have a discount on the neuter? Are you kidding me?! So angry. I know that sometimes people make mistakes and telling people the wrong things, but lets be honest, the guy knew what he was saying and was very specific and I made sure to ask him specific questions. Never going to this place again. Taking my dog to another place and probably going to get him neutered elsewhere too.

BEWARE BEWARE Bait and switch. BEWARE BEWARE!!! What a bad experience Ive had with their front end staff. I must say that the Dr. seemed fine but due to the lies of the staff. Kara, Vanessa, Michelle and others whom I talked to I went to another Vet near me. I went here as my friend referred me. What a mistake I made. I called for a price on a tooth extraction on a canine molar that had a slab fracture. They lied to me to get me in the office.!!! Used car sales people have treaterd me with more respect than this crew of bandits. They quoted me between 500 to 800 dollars everything included on the phone "worst case scenerio" the day before, I booked the appointment and was quoted 1037.00 for a simple tooth extraction. Then they tried to book my dog the next weds. I told tech that I could not afford and that I wouldnt be able to book my dogs extractoion. She then told me to call Monday and talk to head tech to explain the circumstances and they would probably do a better price for me. So I wait all weekend and called these group of pirates to book my dog in hopes they would be able to help. Lies. Office manager then tells me the tech I talked to only worked there a week and was wrong about discount and I was SOL. Tuff luck.. What a bunch of bandits.. So I go to another animal hospital near by and can you believe it. Half of what these pirates would have charged me... LIES LIES LIES LIES. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! PLEASE refer to facebook for pics of receipts. Yup... So I just picked my pup up and Ironwood price was 480.00 With all meds, If you want to see the receipts as proof from both hospitals go to Facebook. So 1037 from Power Animal Hispital and 480 plus 42 plus 40 complete at Ironwood. What a scandelous group you pirates are at PRAH...
