First off Im an expecting mother and Ive held my job for 6 years until they recently went out of business. Unfortunately a few weeks after they went out of business my dog got attacked by two pit bulls. I called EAC and the clerical staff was nice as I explained my situation they told me to come in and we would go over payment arrangements, I only needed arrangements because they wanted to charge $1000 to drain a small growth on her neck and put gauze around her ear, which other clinics said would be roughly $200 but it was after hours. I got to the clinic and they seated me and asked that I fill out paperwork. The staff was very nice but they took an hour (with no one else at the clinic) to come get the paperwork and put us in the system. We waited 2 hours to be seen. The staff and I had worked out a payment arrangement and the staff had reassured me the doctor had agreed to bill me for the visit and that he would see me soon. When Dr. Herrera waltzed in his first question was "Why cant you take care of your own dog?". I said excuse me? He asked why I was financially unable to get her seen. As I started telling him about my job and my new situation he kept cutting me off until I stopped than said, "I dont care and thats not my problem. You are poor and you shouldnt have a dog if you cant afford her". He then told me he would still be willing to LOOK at her but said he would not be able to operate on the infected growth around her neck. I then asked why they said that he would bill me for the operation, when they could have told me no so I wasnt waisting my time. He said "You havent been here that long, shut up" I HAVE NEVER seen such an UNPROFESSIONAL,RUDE,INADEQUITE doctor OR staff in my life in any establishment. Let alone from someone who claims to be a doctor who loves animals but walked around the room to avoid my dog, which made me wonder if he is even licensed to practice. I will be filing other complaints and will also be writing a letter to corporate as well as Pat Levin the CEO and Emily Harvey the Director of Clinic Operations. This is EXTREMELY and unbelievably unprofessional and inappropriate and I will see to it he doesnt have the opportunity to continue to treat people this way.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. I took my chihuahua a week ago because he got ranned over. In my chief complaint I asked if they could do a xray because it looked like his arm was broken. They refused to and offered a packet that "would be affordable" 360.00 five minutes after I paid the native american boy girl not sure with the blonde hair came back and said if you care about the well being of your pet we recommend you pay a additional $560 for another packet that your pet needs which the xray would be included for 250.00 of his arm only!!!! I was upset but I remained calm I had my 3 small children that were destraught with the situation. I paid and remained their while they were trying to wait for my dogs blood pressure regulated. When the rude blonde he she came back again very rude and bothered when he/she had to explain the after care. I asked if I should start the pain and antibiotic medication right away when I get home and sighed very rudely and grabbed the discharge papers from my hands and circled very rudely the names of the medications for the second time. I told her I know what these medications are I just want to know if it is safe to start his medication right away since he was already administered medications while their. The heshe states if you actually care at all for your dog you will pay for the additional testing. I stated I am a single mother of 3 and I am using my credit card for his services which I paid for almost 600.00 . I told that individual that I had already went way over my budget. She just rolled her eyes and walked away. When she came back with my dog she just threw him at me. Even my 9 year old said be careful. She just laughed and walked away. I had enough of that place that I just walked away. I had been here before about 2 years ago and the service changed dramatically.Very rude unprofessional disrespectful staff. I would never ever go their again.I would rather drive a additional 30 minutes than to go a environment like this one. Management NEEDS to evaluate their staff!!! I believe your jaws would drop down. I too work in the medical field and this was very unacceptable!!!

When I had come there before with a feral kitten, they were eager to help me and never charged me for a visit. For example, I once nursed a little of kittens that were abandoned by a feral cat and they gave me bottles, helped me make a warming box out of medical gloves filled with warm water and towels to keeps the kittens in, some formula, and a lot of advice. No charge. Another litter I brought in they helped me with as well. When one of the kittens of the litter ended up having heart issues, they examined the poor week old thing free of charge and euthanized him for me. However, my recent visit was a bit more negative than optimistic. Immediately, they wanted to know if I wanted to claim ownership. And then they assumed I wanted to give away the kitten I brought that had broken her arm and how they would euthanize him if I didnt claim ownership immediately because theres so many ferals. I just didnt expect such strong assumptions! But the Vet that took care of me was sweet and incredibly helpful. And my past experiences with them have been fantastic. The actual vet was very good, provided me with ample medication for pain for the kittens arm, and explained to me how much it would cost surgically to fix it vs amputation. She could tell I loved animals and I was just trying to help this feral kitten. Although it cost quite a bit, it was worth it -- I was provided with a lot of options for my newly found kitten and given a lot of resources. (Background -- I found this kitten in a monsoon storm due to her loud meowing which could was audible from my second story apartment in ANOTHER complex. She was clearly injured, so I brought it to EAC because of my previous experience with them. She was only about 13 weeks old (apparently). I literally had her for like.. 30 minutes before I brought her in. I didnt expect the 100 dollar exam fee but I did expect x-ray costs and the like. I MOSTLY didnt like the really negative attitude the staff had against feral cats and that I had brought this cat in to dump.. it was sad :( I ended up shelling out nearly 500 bucks for a random kitten I just found).

The service was so bad, I felt obliged to write my first review on anything ever. I wouldnt go here unless death is staring your animal in the face, even then youre probably better off finding something on the internet or waiting until you can see your regular vet. Had a puppy that had a history of eating things she shouldnt. She was throwing up and drooling when I took her in, her symptoms were exactly the same as previous times she had eaten something she shouldnt have i.e. despondent, pacing around, head pressing etc...except this time she had started throwing up. Got in to see a vet quick enough - and that was about the only thing that went well. After explaining the history to the vet (who judging by the rings under his eyes hadnt slept in a few days) he immediately ignored and gave me the prognosis of liver failure. First tried to tell me my dog was blind, which she is not. Then after performing some tests on her i.e. picking her up sticking his fingers down her mouth, opening her eyelids, she snapped at him...which he then announced she could have rabies. I again explained that shes had a history of doing this which he acknowledged said he would be back with a plan. Fast forward 45 minutes (place wasnt busy in the waiting room) and a 1,400 dollar estimate to do blood work, emergency fee25.00, fluids 48.50, fluid set up -38.00, and a whole bunch of other ridiculous fees...I declined and went to my vet on Monday. A 50.00 x-ray revealed a rock that was stuck in her stomach, as I suspected. VS the 1,496.04 they wanted to charge me for blood work to detect if she had a liver shunt. Granted the surgery to get the rock out was expensive, but it solved the problem. My experience was 1. the vet didnt listen, and didnt go with the most simple (object ingestion vs organ failure) problem first, 2. this place is out for money and plays on peoples emotional attachment to their pets. I would never go back to this place. Granted this is an emergency 24-hour service and prices should be a little higher, but not that much higher the same blood work test at my vet was 160.00.
