If I could give half a star rating I would. This is the truth (after working here 5 wasted years): chronic understaffing to pinch pennies while lavishing physicians with various perks and massively overcompensating physicians, staff gossiping about one another and management only being concerned with finances, an outdated, inefficient charting software for all staff that slows care down, an ER that shuffles people though like a conveyor belt (sanitize the bed; then fill it; repeat every 40 minutes), lack of education given to patients, a management that will not terminate incompetent staff and overlook blatantly dangerous mistakes that have resulted in injury and worse, rude receptionists (from the operator to the individual departments), arrogant physicians that ignore patient and staff concerns (one ER doc threw a book at a nurse and she threw something back at him: good for her), terrible cleaning of OR suites by housekeeping staff that is IGNORED, curtains that are NEVER washed or changed when a patient has MRSA or other particularly harmful infections, nosy staff that laugh at patients behind their back openly at the nursing station (and each other), nurses that sit on their derrieres while patients legitimately require something, and complacent managers (well actually they care about the statistics and budget-thats it). I sympathize if you have had to experience this Clearlake catastrophe; the only thing you can do is warn others and never return. FYI: I was a nurse there and no, management did not like me because I tried to improve the place and brought up problems we had in department meetings. Once I dared ask the Medical Director, "Why arent we referring patients with addiction problems to a program that can help them get off this stuff so they dont keep coming back into the ER with drug withdrawal problems?" His reply was, "And how do you think the hospital will make money that way?" I wish I was kidding. High surgical infection rates, rude staff, inadequate treatment in general....this is just off the top of my head.

Im not surprised to see a 2 star average rating. The staff at the imaging office is about the worst Ive encountered and Ive been there several times. My most recent trip was yesterday. After receiving my folder, the receptionist proceeded to continue with her personal business conversation with a fellow staff person for about 5 minutes. Then took a phone call and put that person on hold while she finished her personal conversation. After that she addressed me. My form had one box marked incorrectly so she had to contact the referring physicians office which had just closed. I guess Dr. Allens (referring physician) staff screwed up the paperwork. But the incompetence didnt stop there. The imaging receptionist could have fixed the mistake if she hadnt been so preoccupied with her personal life. Had I not taken time off work (for which I did not get paid) and driven a half hour to the hospital to get the x-rayI would not be so annoyed. But like I said, this wasnt the first time...

So an ER is supposed to take patients in from high risk to low risk. I had a fever of 103 for two days straight was given something to reduce it which was nice and then I had an influenza swab done. So I wait for 4 hours come to find out some guy with an Ingrown hair was seen before me. I get it dont be a snob but come on, WHERE IN THE WORLD OR WHEN IN THE WORLD DOES AN INGROWN HAIR COMPARE TO A HIGH GRADE FEVER LASTING LONGER THAN 1 DAY. Come to find out in that 4 hour time frame that I indeed tested POSITIVE for a strain and had no clue what it was thanks to your poor decision skills. This place is pure dissapointment.

This is the worst place ever! And Im very sick with bad health and I get so sick to where I vomit continually and get dangerously low on blood and fluids and the sent me away still vomiting chronically and treated me like a drug seeking addict and I didnt even ask for any controlled substances, my mom had to drive me to lakeport and ended up. Being flown to sutter Sacramento ICU cause I was bleeding eternally from violently vomiting!! I cant believe they sent me away so sick without doing anything test! Lakeport was the best and took good care of me while I was there waiting to be transported! Believe me go to lakeport

My medical records are inaccurate. While hospitalized, I was told by my nurses to press my call button when my pain medication was due. Apparently, they were extremely busy. Well... I did just THAT. Imagine my surprise when my new primary care doctor informed me that my records said I kept asking for a certain pain reliever! NOT TRUE. Now its MY word against theirs? THIS should be illegal to falsify my records. Now, any doctor that I go to see, will pull up that incriminating entry. I WILL find a way to make them accountable if they do not add a ADDENDUM.

My mom fell down on 4th of July she broke her nose and Humurus (arm) bone . Shes 78 mind you . Well they released her 2 hours after she was brought to the DR. She got her head when she fell no cat scan , no chest xrays. Now we sit in the lobby a week later so she can have those xrays . Weve been here over an hour . There was no room for her in the xray lobby so we are sitting in the hallway waiting for someone to come get her for these xrays. Unbelievable

I have had cause to visit the emergency room twice in recent months and both times, we were extremely well cared for. The doctor spend time answering all our questions and the nurses were available, checking on us every 20 minutes or so. We did not have to wait to be seen. We were not admitted, so cant comment on that side of things. But, I am pleased with both experiences. Cant give it 5 stars, cuz, well, cmon folks, WHO loves going to the hospital???

Ive seen some really messed up stuff in here, they treat almost everyone like an addict, Ive seen there security yell threatening at people with who were there with psychiatric issues and. Ive seen them make fun of patients while standing around(literally like 8 of them hanging out in one spot while someone asks over and over for a blanket and act like its a strain) this place is awful left here when to Lakeport and they are freaking awesome there.

My brother was admitted to the hospital in Feb. 2014 due to high ammonia levels as a complication of Chirrhosis. He stayed there for a week and was well taken care of...they would not release him too early as hospitals tend to do these days. He has been doing fine since. Dont understand the bad reviews. We were very satisfied with the care he received.

I went to their emergency room. They were kind enough to me and got to me right away that day. For that I wanted to give 2 stars but looking back after everything they didnt do much else for me. They didnt do the testing that most other places likely wouldve done, and they grossly overcharged for it all. Please, go to Sutter in Lakeport if you can.
