I provide in-home care support for a woman whom is a friend of mine. As a child my friend has had hip surgurey, . So she has metal in one hip, She was nine years old then. Most recent approx. 7 years ago she had surgurey to one of her ankles. This was due to a fall. And she now has metal in that ankle. In the past month and a half she has been in terrible pain, and almost unable to walk. ( meaning she cant even walk from her bedroom to the bathroom without practically falling down ) So it was obvious that something was wrong. I told her not to worry because she did not have a broken leg, or legs. And she isnt parralized. Because she was scared that she would never walk again and she is only 43 years old. I took her to Seton Medical Center. I brought her inside, got her all checked in, and to her room waiting for the doctor to come and examin her.I left to get something to eat. (knowing I didnt need to stay and speak for her, because after all this is a hospital , right? And doctors know what to do, right? And Im no dotor but common sense would be seeing that this woman is is pain, X-RAY her. Right? ) But no. I return 25-30 minutes later and she is already out of her room and in the lobby in a wheelchair crying waiting for me. The anger I felt was so bad that I was scared I was going to lose it. She told me the female doctor was rude, and every time my friend would say something, the doctor, would roll her eyes. The doctor said she cant give any pain meds to my friend. My friend wasnt asking for pain meds, shes there because she wants to find out whats wrong with her. The doctor then said she believes my friend is faking it and is just trying to get pills because shes seen her type before. And then released her. When I went to push her outside in the wheelchair, she said NO.The security guard told my friend she couldnt take the wheelchair outside. (reason unknown) So after taking my friend for an M.R.I. a few days ago at a different medical center, she got the results back Today. And what they said is, my friend has a broken disk, and a small piece of bone is broken off. He also said that he couldnt believe how she could bare the pain, because a broken disk is one of the most painfull injurys. And he told my friend she will walk again and he will fix her. Today was a very happy day for my friend. Seton on the other hand, well, Im still in shock. I thought a hospital is suspose to be proffessional, with proffessional people. Well its not. And want others to know how they treated my friend when the whole time she had this serious injury and was in constant pain. Thank You Ron Hipskind

Worse place to be !!!!!!!!!! My poor mom had a knee surgery else wear and was having severe abdominal pain and vomitting . We admitted her at Seton hospital early morning around 6:40am after requesting the on call nurse to take her condition serious ( cause no nurse was taking her in ) since she was getting dehydrated severely. The morning shift nurse who attended her was very rude and would not give her warm blanket after requesting for another since she was extremely cold from dehydration. Instead kept telling us that she is busy- ha! Really !!!The nurse is to busy for an ER patient who recently had a knee surgery and was throwing up and having sharp stomach pains and not to mention- DEHYDRTED! Anyway, then after 7 hours of tiring stay in the hospital she was discharged and was prescribed Ondansetron for vomitting. It has been more than 24 hours that it still is not authorized by the ER physician because the Walgreens pharmacy wants the physician to approve it by calling the pharmacy and the pharmacy wants the physician to call them. My Mom is still throwing up and is getting very dehydrated because she cant retain anything in her stomach and these both (the hospital administration and Walgreens pharmacy ) bozoes are playing tag with the us and wanting us to pay full price for the medicine then writing a generic medicine instead that wont take a minute but would rather have us pay $60 we bought two and then the pharmacy said we will have the rest get approved by the physician and they have faxed it to them but still until now - it has been more than 24 hours no answer on prior authorization . I am in Kansas and trying to help my mom get the prescription but they wont take care of the problem themselves rather wants me to call the pharmacy from Kansas and when I have more than twice- waiting on phone answer from pharmacy in an hour ( let alone my sister separately )then they tell me to call the physician because I have to and back and forth. This is NOT patient responsibility or their relatives to make both the parties ( Walgreens and hospital physician)to come to a common ground to give patient care to get their damn pills. Incompetent people!!!!! I would not recommend this hospital one bit unless you want to die here !

I have mixed feelings about this place, most of them was positive and few negative. I was admitted there for Pancreatic Inflammation as an emergency patient. Let me first tell the positive part. POSITIVE PART: Staff were caring, helpful and working very hard and I used to feel that they are working harder than they are asked to do. My big thanks to the cleaning staff and the nursing staff. To name a few, thanks to nurses Vicky, Grace, Young, George, Saki, Gala, Katlyn, Khine, Robert, etc for the good care they gave during my days admitted there and also thank nurses Maria and Kristin for caring during Round 2 of my admittance to hospital. Also thankful to cleaning staff Hannah who went above and beyond despite facing health issues herself. My Doctors were Dr. Tscuchiyose, Dr. Gupta, Dr. Sydorak and Dr. Kelly. Practitioner was Dr. Evelyn. The staff members combined were great and helpful. NEGATIVE PART: Too much back and forth with billing department -I am still going back and forth with them to make sure that they dont charge me more than the Out of Pocket Maximum of my Insurance. The first bill that came to me was around 3-4 times more than the out of pocket maximum. I have told them to correct the bill and properly submit the claim to my insurance and still working on it. Another headache I have is with Credence Ambulance which brought me to the hospital as an emergency, because even-though I dont owe anything to ambulance company, they are wasting my time by making me mediate in discussions between Ambulance Agency and United Healthcare Insurance. Atleast in this regard, Seton Billing Center has been decent because they did not make me mediate in their discussion with insurance company. UPDATE Dec 11th: Billing issue resolved between hospital and insurance. I dont have to pay anything more than the out of pocket maximum amount.

First time patient of Seton Medical Center. The worst experience of my life!!! STAY AWAY, PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Waited there for 3 hours and the physician who saw me said he was sure I had the flu. He said he would call me with the results and sent me on my way with medication. Never received a call and when I called back ilene told me he results were negative. When I asked for next steps she hung up the phone. I asked to speak with a manager Mr. Brown but he seems to never be in the office. They transferred me 10 times within a 2 hour period and he did not answer the phone. Theres also no other managers or supervisors in the ER. Their answer to my solution is to come back to the ER or to see my regular physician. So basically they want another $2k+ to not do anything. Now Im feeling worse than I did yesterday, I missed a day of work, and I still dont know what I have. THANKS SETON!
