I Used to Love Ace Animal Hospital more and any other place there once it was the only place I took my dog in fact I took my previous dog there too they save my dog when he got hurt at Petco and then I decided to board him I was going on vacation for my mothers 75th birthday my dog is my World which I know many of you know what Im talking about Kimo was born on New Years eve on the island of Oahu where I saved him when he was six weeks old house now East animal Hospital has been seeing him since he was three months old , I left them there on February 13 and I was supposed to pick him up on the 21st good morning arrived to pick him up I called to say I would be there at about 12:30pm moment I arrived in the door I told him I was there to get him and a girl at the reception desk told me that I would owe for another day no they had never told me that I had already pre-paid his head entire stay so but she told me seeing as I was a customer for a long time I didnt know then they brought out my dog they handed me all his blankets which I had brought with him the blankets smell like urine so bad the smell almost knocked you out .my dog was so scared and so happy to see me it was crazy when we got him in our truck which we were parked right outside and handicapped we then started noticing the smell on him he smelled like urine know if you understand Kimo hes a federal service dog and hes one of the most loving dogs you could ever meet he loves every single person he meets all of a sudden he was scared of everyone he would not let a child let alone a person come near him he was very skittish and afraid of his crate that he had been crate trained since he was six weeks old . Mind you the whole week I was gone I was calling the entire time checking on him and they said he was very happy going for walks and loving it there so I call them when I smelled him that he smelled like urine and so did his blankets and they told me that he wet a few times in his cage that never was disclosed to me so how could all of a sudden they tell me that he wet his cage which never has happened before . I asked to speak to the vet who never phoned me I emailed the VAT how this happened he never answered my emails my dog has changed from the loving dog who used to love people and is now a dog that is skittish afraid of people and will not let anyone come near him again and is now to this day still afraid of his crate so you tell me how loving are they at Ace animal hospital if youre bored youre there !!! I will never go back there I will never refer them and I thought I had to give them no stars thats what they would get from me absolutely nothing !!!

Im not really sure where all these positive reviews are coming from for Ace Animal Hospital. Im not one to *ever* write reviews (whether I have complaints or praise) but I am so appalled I am compelled to do so. We came here to have my cats teeth looked over since it looked like there was some dental decay. The vet proceeded to tell us that our cat had a heart murmur, heart disease and would need bloodwork (to confirm the alleged heart problems), x-rays, possibly an ultrasound and pretty much all of his teeth extracted. This is after examining him for a few minutes. We questioned the exorbitant cost (verbal estimate from the Dr.) and the need for all of this. At that point the vet sent in a finance person who was trying to sell us on every unecessary thing you can think of at a ridiculous cost. My cat had been in to this same vets office a few months prior and there was no mention of heart problems. The finance guy proceeds to badmouth the vet we saw last time and said "well he doesnt work here anymore" and "he was a bad vet" (untrue, maybe he left because he could no longer work at a shady business like this!) Looking at his estimate it looked like this was going to be well over 1k in the end with all of the tests to further prove that yes, my cat is old (15 years) and he is not in the best of health. The finance person was as seedy as a used-car salesman in scrubs. He tried to tell us that if we come back for the procedure when his boss isnt there he will give us a 20% discount (unethical). He then said we can finance the ridiculous cost at an attractive interest rate. Then he told us to lie about having some discount card when we pay up front. He then kept using vague sales pitches about putting it all in a package to "help us out" and reduce our costs. It was very uncomfortable and we said wed think about it, get a second opinion, etc. And we did just that...another reasonable and very ethical veterinarian off of Fremont Blvd spent twice as much time examining my cat and said there was NO heart murmur, NO need for bloodwork, xray, ultrasound and no need to extract all of my cats teeth, just a cleaning and maybe an extraction or two if necessary, they charge about $12-$65 per tooth extraction! Ace Animal Hospital had said most vets charge about $300 per tooth (lies) This other reputable vets office is taking care of my cats teeth for about $135.00. I hate you Ace Animal Hospital. My cat hates you too.

The vet who saw my cat last week does not even know how to give a cat a shot without overdosing. One of the shots he was given spill out some, so he gave a full dosage after on top of what manage to stay inside thus my cat was given more than what suppose to be given. My cat was out of it for a week, I thought he was going to die due to how unresponsive he was. He wouldnt drink and or eat hard food. Luckily he did eat his soft food in the morning, and was good enough to let me give him some water every 2-3 hours with a dropper. Didnt do that he would of gotten dehydrated. To note on that day to just get his shots they tried charging me for an exam even though repeatedly beforehand we ask and was made sure that we just wanted the shots and it be fine. On top of that they tried saying I owe them money from previous visit even though I paid fully with a debit card. That previous visit was about my cats inner eyelid that didnt retract fully for a few days. The vet didnt know what the problem was, but sure had plenty of guesses and procedures wanted to try. Also wanted to send my cat to an eye specialist which be around $200-300 in tests alone. I waited a couple of days and put drops of water in his eyes a couple times and it went back to normal. Never coming back here, if they cant even give shots properly then cant trust them with other procedures. Plus they like to add as many charges as they can to your bill. Always check your bill if you still want to go here for those extra fees.
