Worth the drive! There are plenty of boarding facilities near me but I drive 30 minutes to bring my dog to Animal Kind because a) They treat him fabulously. Hes a grumpy dog and hates other dogs so they let him out into the play yard by himself so he can enjoy his outdoor time in peace and quiet. b) He is so thrilled every time I take him there he just BOLTS back to his run without a backward glance. c) It is a veterinary hospital so I have confidence that if anything were to go wrong, he is in safe hands. Every time I pick him up he is clean and happy even if I havent requested a bath for him. They keep him up to date on shots and they have package deals for boarding which helps me a lot because I travel so much. Ive only had occasion once to use the veterinary services, one of my dogs had a burr stuck in his throat and was coughing miserably. The dog had the good sense to cough the burr up on the exam table so our visit had a happy ending.

My first visit was to have my elderly cat checked out only to find he was so sick he needed to be put down. Although the doctor and staff didnt know me or my cat, they were kind, sympathetic and helped make an awful situation bearable. I was very impressed and very grateful. My second visit was for a much happier reason - my little dog needed a check-up and his rabies shot. They greeted him like an old friend, everybody stopped to say hello. After a clean bill of health, he got his shot and we were on our way. Again, there was kindness and warmth seldom found at many vet offices. My dog felt comfortable, no hesitations. I felt comfortable knowing they cared for my dog almost as much as I did. I recommend them highly and plan a long relationship with them, my dog and I.

I came here as an employee of the Marin Humane Society with a womans cat who badly needed help. Dr. Virk was so compassionate, along with the other wonderful women who worked there like Gloria. I wish I could remember the other two names! But they were all fabulous! Anyway, so the cat ended up becoming anemic because of the bad flea problem she had. Dr. Virk gave her medications to kill the fleas, an IV for fluids, and a bunch of other shots to make her feel all better. I was super grateful for this wonderful place and had happy tears many times throughout the visit just because I was so impressed with them. I highly recommend this vet!

I read about Animal Kind on Next Door. Several months later my dog had pain in her ear area, would cry out if petted on her head, and laid listlessly in her bed. I drove over to Animal Kind with no appointment (their web page said walk-ins were welcome) and saw the Dr. about 15 minutes later. It turned out to be her gums, and we received medication and were out the door within an hour. My dog was back to herself by the next morning. Love this place and the staff is really great!

I bring both my pets here (cat and dog), the staff are kind and efficient and Dr. Virk is caring, knowledgeable and shows great concern and compassion when treating my two little ones. After procedures, I always receive a follow-up call to ensure that all has gone well and that all my concerns are answered. I have not had an opportunity for boarding but will consider them if the need arises as I am very confident that my little ones will be well taken care of.

Dedicated, caring, compassionate, Dr. Virk and staff of Animal Kind have been wonderful with all our many cats. We arrived here 3 years ago and in that time he has diagnosed, treated, neutered, shaved, done emergency surgery, made house calls & been there for a thousand questions. Affordable quality care. I have been coming here regularly for 4 years. Dr. Virk is caring and very knowledgeable - particularly when it comes to geriatric pet care. The staff are helpful and compassionate. My elderly dog has had several procedures over the years. All of these procedures have gone smoothly and I invariably receive a follow up call afterwards to see how she is doing. I trust them with my best canine friend.

Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital is an excellent place to take your pet. Dr. Virk is very knowledgeable and compassionate with animals. He will give you an extensive diagnose w/options that will work best. Dr. Virk will not suggest unnecessary procedures that will not improve the health of your pet. I trust him completely and his prices are very reasonable. The staff is also great.
