I must preface this by saying that I have never before posted a bad review and am only doing so in hopes of helping someone else avoid the pain that I experienced with Dr. Bailey. I went to see him in great distress, as I had a terrible reaction to a chemical peel. My entire face was inflamed, itching and very painful after about 3 weeks post-procedure. I had been back to the doctor who had performed it, but nothing he suggested helped and a dermatologist seemed like a logical next step. Dr. Bailey was so rude and condescending that I was shocked. He said I shouldnt have booked online and insinuated that I was lying when I said the receptionist told me I could. He told me that I should be seeing the doctor that did this to me and that it wasnt for him to fix another doctors mistake. He treated me with complete disdain that I would have such a cosmedic procedure and be on Medicaid and then preceeded to go on about what a good guy he was for even taking Medicaid and he didnt make any money from "you people." He clearly resented that I was there and on Medicaid. (I have to explain here that I am 52 years old and had to go on Medicaid for a total of one year due to a series of extremely difficult life events and having only found a half time teaching job that year, which didnt include medical benefits. The peel was my Christmas/birthday gift from my parents in an attempt to boost my confidence and spirits. Best intentions...:) ) I was already feeling bad about myself for being on Medicaid and Dr. Bailey talked as if it was completely shameful, although he had no idea about my situation. I left his office in tears and no help for my condition. When I went to see another doctor, I learned it was a full-blown staff infection. I realize that doctors dont make money on Medicaid patients, but what is the point of accepting these patients if you are going to treat them as leeches? I would rather go without treatment than be treated so horribly.

Brian Bailey was insulting, insensitive, condescending, and not solution oriented. He wasnt a good listener and seemed irritated when I asked questions. He made several rude comments about me "digging around" on my face and didnt even change his tone when I teared up and was visibly upset. The only reason I didnt walk right out was because he was the only doctor my insurance would take in a 90 mile radius and I had waited a whole month just to get in. I tried to ask about cause and prevention and he interrupted me and said, "People think theres a cure. Theres no cure for acne. Youll just have to out grow it." Im 31, so waiting to outgrow it isnt a great option. He bashed natural treatments and didnt care that thats what I wanted to try first. As for the treatment itself, he didnt talk about side effects (or how the prescription would be affected by my diet which I found out later), didnt discuss the dangers of being on antibiotics long term or even how long I should be on them or when we should follow up. Its been 6 months. His office hasnt reached out to say I shouldnt continue on the antibiotics or to see if its working. The pharmacist had to say something. Also, the treatment hasnt even gotten me to the 50% improvement mark (that I really should have seen at 3 mo). Some areas have actually gotten worse. Also, he didnt even write out notes specific for my treatment, just circled a couple things on a standard handout that he implied would tell me everything, but when I got home and looked it didnt have everything on there. Had he told me to moisturize morning or night? What was the third prescription for? It just says "put on red spots"- is that during or post inflammation? What was supposed to be helping with the pigmentation? He left me feeling bad about myself and my condition, confused about my treatment, and feeling hopeless. I wouldnt recommend him to my worst enemy.

In the past, I have had horrible, life-scarring experiences with bad dermatologists, but I can say that after going to Bailey Dermatology, Ive completely turned my perspective around. Dr Bailey delivery was kind and he listened to my needs. His bedside manner is wonderful and he is very intuitive. I particularly loved how he was able to translate medical jargon into understandable, relate-able and repeatable laymen terms. Normally, I do not enjoy having to visit any sort of medical related appointment, but from the moment I received my text alert of my appointment reminder to the kind staff at the desk, the wonderful practitioner, Taylor, and meeting Dr Bailey, I know I will only be coming back to Bailey Dermatology. It is hard to finding a doctor you can trust and feel comfortable with, I only wish they did more than dermatology!

Dr. Brian Bailey has been our family Dermatologist for years... he is the best! We look forward to seeing him anytime we have problems such as, poison ivy, teenage acne or check ups on sun damage and birth marks. He is kind, timely and most of all, very funny. We love to visit his office, and he is so encouraging to our college aged and high school aged students. If you are looking for a Dermatologist, Dr. Bailey is your go to Doctor! Thank YOU Dr. Bailey, for taking care of the entire Tidstrom Family. Laura Ann R-T The Cookie Lady

I trust Dr. Bailey explicitly to provide the right guidance for my skin needs. He spends more time with me than any other Physician has so I feel comfortable asking questions and getting logical and educated answers. Unfortunately, I have skin that needs lots of cancer-related attention so I need to visit often. I have referred a number of people to Bailey Dermatology and will continue to do so.

No complaints about Dr. Bailey. He was great with my teenage son. Spent a lot of time with us talking about his recommended course of treatment and potential side effects. He answered every question and concern. Its been one month and my son is seeing improvement already. He knows he still has a long road ahead but I already see him feeling more confident.
