Fear has been a controlling factor in my life since I was a young child. Where it came from or why it developed , God only knows. One of the most horrific and literally debilitating fears has been going to the dentist. Through out my life I would go to any length to avoid a dental visit. If I had a visit scheduled for the following week my days would be filled with anguish I couldnt even begin to describe. It is hard for people to understand unless you have had the same type of phobias. I have gone to the extent of having an anesthesiologist put me to sleep for a simple filling. With a medical condition I have this is no longer an option. Finally at age 65 , and its been a long road, my fear is gone. And I have Lighthouse Dental Care to thank for this, in my eyes, dramatic turn around. I called Lighthouse Dental Care and though being very embarrassed , I explained my fears and anxiety. The receptionist who answered the phone was completely sympathetic and understanding of my situation. She was warm and compassionate to a degree I had never experienced before. We scheduled an appointment where I would go in and have a consultation with Dr. Samuels. When I arrived I was greeted with the same warmth and compassion. I experienced on the phone. When I talked with Dr. Samuels I felt a complete sense of relief. My fear and anxiety slowly left me with his supportive words and understanding. We scheduled my next appointment and I left the office with a confidence that I had made the right choice and was going to be helped by a staff that really cares about me as a person. Get this. My first scheduled work was a root canal. If you had just said root canal to me before I would have started running. But I put my faith in the doctor and staff and it was completely justified. Imagine, I was confident when I walked into that office again for the procedure and back for other work I had done and made it with flying colors. Dr Samuels has a special gift. He really cares about his patients and their comfort. As he worked he would repeatedly check to see if I was OK. And if I experienced any pain which I didnt. But his support really shows. I have had follow up visits with Julie my hygienist for deep cleaning and gum care and like Dr. Samuels I dont ever want to lose her. She always greets me with a warm smile and, understanding anxiety , always puts me at ease. She always goes the extra distance to ensure you are comfortable and has that special compassion that is priceless. After having gone through years of anxiety and anguish the sense of relief I feel is truly remarkable. I have found a safe haven with Lighthouse Dental Care.

I have come to Lighthouse Dental since my dentist of childhood retired 30 yrs ago. I went to a few mediocre dentists during a 10 yr search, always trying to find the right one. Then, about 20 yrs ago I came to Dr. Mark Samuels at Lighthouse Dental. Dr. Samuels is a really, really skilled dentist. I have never felt that any service was pushed on me, there was never any pain, no matter what was done. I had some work done to correct infection related to a previous bad front tooth root canal (original bad work was done elsewhere) when I was a child and the 2 subsequent apicoectomies also done elsewhere which did not clear the related infection. Dr. Samuels listened to my complaint and founf the infection. In conjunction with a periodontist, I had bone grown back, an implant installed and Dr. Samuels did a crown that is front and center and is sheer artistry. Noone can tell that crown is a crown. It is perfection-- truly natural looking.The infections all cleared up from the previous dentists poor work (its now 10 yrs later!) I have had several crowns before this and they never looked natural. My mother and my ex-husband and several friends have all come here on my recommendation. None of them ever left the practice unless they moved out of state. My ex husband was deathly afraid of the dentist before coming here. All expressed that they were pleased with the recommendation. I would not go anywhere else. By the way, the hygienist, Leona, who cleans my teeth is superb as well. She is friendly, helpful, and has good technique. My mouth doesnt feel abused when I leave, just incredibly clean!

Ive been going to Lighthouse Dental for several years now and I say, as when one finds a great attorney, or, a great financial planner or physician, you stay with them! Especially, when that professional [staff] remains on the cutting edge of advancements to best serve the public. Thats what Ive found at Lighthouse Dental. I still tell people about the work Dr. Samuel did in masterfully restoring my sons chipped front tooth! He is not only a most capable dentist, but an artist at what he does, and I feel I can trust him and everyone in the office with my family and friends. The people Ive referred all have the same experiences and are so pleased! One friend actually said she was really taken back in how painless and thorough her procedure went and how everyone treated her so kindly that she felt nothing but comfort. She also told me that in the past she historically feared dentist visits and after "this experience," she was happily changed. Ive always felt they go above and beyond to make all the patients nothing but comfortable and confident. The level of care here is hard to come by and Im very grateful!

I went to Lighthouse Dental for veneers on my four front teeth four years ago. I found the office to be friendly and professional overall and Dr. Jarmon in particular to exhibit a combination of competence, friendliness and skill. He counseled me on the details of my veneer options, guiding me to a custom porcelain style that I have been very happy with. He took an obvious interest in the specifics of my aesthetic and functional requirements to arrive at the best course for me. Im a faculty member at Yale Medical School and am somewhat Type-A when it comes to my own care. Dr. Jarmon good-naturedly met my expectations in all respects. Last week when I broke one of the veneers, the office opened appointment space for me immediately and Dr. Jarmon quickly, precisely and inexpensively made the repair. I have my teeth back again and continue to be very pleased with the care and product I got at Lighthouse Dental.

I have been a patient and employee at Lighthouse Dental Care for over 20 years. As a patient I am very comfortable with the dental care I receive. I have had fillings, crowns and veneers done. I have experienced the most thorough cleanings with our hygienists, than I ever had before I became a patient here. I am now hooked on the "Sonicare" toothbrush. Dr. Samuels is an LVI trained doctor in cosmetics and aesthetics. He can transform anyone into having the most perfect, natural looking smile! Both he and Dr. Jarmon do general dentistry, dental implants, dentures, most root canals, routine extractions, TMJ issues, 6 month smiles (clear adult braces) and Invisalign orthodontia. This practice sees the entire family, I have recommended them to my family and friends, and feel very confident they are getting the best possible dentistry care available. This office ROCKS!
