By far, the most dreaded part of the denture process has to be when the teeth are extracted. That happened for me yesterday at the Altamonte Springs Aspen Dental clinic. The procedure took about about 3 hours. First, a jell was applied to my gums, in order to numb them, so that I would not feel the injections of the numbing agent. The injections of the numbing agent was done in stages, so that the areas receiving the injections were already numb enough so that the insertion of the needle was barely noticeable. After my jaws were seriously numb, the doctor pulled my teeth. I was conscious during the procedure, and my gums were still numb when I left the Dental office. I was pain free and I could have driven myself home, if needed. The doctor prescribed pain medicine, to relieve the jaw pain, that you would expect, following such a surgical procedure. I was pain free during the night following the extraction. And the next day - today - I have not needed any pain medication. Not to say, however, that there wasnt any discomfort. There is some bleeding associated with the procedure. That bleeding is lessened by using gauze pads to press against your temporary dentures. That pressure staunches the blood flow, until the blood coagulates. I needed to change those gauze pads every few hours, with less spotting each time. My gums had largely stopped bleeding by approximately 3PM. (approximately 15 hours after the completion of the procedure) I go back to my dentist tomorrow for a post-op checkup. The staff of Aspen Dental is very positive and they are excited about being able to give you a good smile. I strongly recommend them.

I don’t know if it has anything to do with residing down south but I have never stumbled across such BS in all my life! West coast, New England, I’ve been to the dentist several times. Make an appointment ~ they give x-rays and a cleaning. Picked up Delta Dental USA down south called a few dentists and it seemed to be the same script. Come in for an x-ray and then schedule an appointment for a cleaning. So I did only to discover… I supposedly need a “deep clean” that’ll cost $600.00 with insurance. A procedure in which I can’t afford because I’m a part of that Useless Degree and Unemployed epidemic…and when I explained that to the folks at Aspen Dental and requested a “normal” cleaning, they denied my request…basically stating that a “normal” cleaning defeats the purpose when one needs a “deep clean”, talking to me as if I’m stupid. So, I called Aspen corporate to get nonchalant, called another Aspen location to get the same song and dance. Even Delta Dental tried to justify the above to no avail with some really poor analogies. “It’s like putting makeup over acne”, no it’s like not being able to afford acne medication so it’s either soap and water or just water…A bright person would opt for soap and water, no?! Needless to say, it’s not what’s best for their patients ~ it’s what’s best for their greedy wallets! Lesson learned ~ research dental plans and dentists moving forward because my experience in regards has been nothing short of a waste of time and money!!! Oh and I am middle aged, have all of my teeth, no cavities discovered during my visit, past fillings and a woo-wee, what a debacle!

The dentist my daughter and I saw has no bedside manner. She needed a simple filling which she has had at 2 other dentists with no issues. Here shes in a lot of pain and tears because this guy and his assistant are incompetent. The assistant applied the numbing agent in the wrong place so the novacaine shot was quite painful. For me, I was on a follow up appointment to get a mouthguard for sleeping. It was way off fitwise and their solution, cram it in.. make it fit. When I let them know it was very painful they got pissy with me and the dentist said "theres gonna be some pressure" all in a snotty attitude like its my fault they suck at their job. I got up out of the chair and walked out on the spot. I have had broken bones and lacerations requiring stitches and gotten through it like a champ. The only reason I came here in the first place is because they take my insurance. NEVER AGAIN. I would rather pay out of pocket then deal with uncaring people.

Awful just awful.. i felt like i was getting SCAMMED.. Watch your bill things are added u dont need. 150 for electric tooth brush upgrades of course ur ins wont cover. Everyone needs deep scaling of course not covered. Had my teeth fixed and had to come back three times to correct of course additional $ each time . I felt so takin advantage of i left the office in tears and pain. The only dentist that i have ever had to pay 3-5 days before a procedure.. ugh So upset.. thinking of calling Channel 9 to investigate.. to think they have over $2k of my money so i have no choice but to go back.. CHECK UR BILL AS I STARTED TAKING THINGS OFF THE BILL I ASKED THE BILLING person DO ALOT OF PEOPLE REMOVE STUFF SHE SAID " No most ppl just pay" Look at ur bill .. Im disgusted 1 star is to good of a rating .. Never again.. Go somewhere else..

From making the appointment online, to being greeted, to xrays, it has been a smooth and enjoyable (yes, I used the word enjoyable referring to a dentist!) experience. Everything for my treatment was fully discussed with me, with my input taken seriously. Full financial responsibilities were explained, with a printout showing exactly what my insurance would pay vs my responsibility. The deep cleaning, which I always dread, went as well as I could expect with only a little discomfort. The tech was great about making sure I was ok. I highly recommend this facility without reservation. Especially if you are chicken when it comes to dentistry. :)

Besides taking forever (over an hour past my appointment time to even start), this place is out to steal your money. Ive only had one cavity my entire life and they told me that needed refilled as well as 8 more!! My teeth didnt hurt and I didnt have the money to pay for all the work, so I waited. Based on my bad experience there I selected a new dentist and was expecting to maybe have a couple cavities needing filled since Aspen claimed I had eight, I went in and after xrays the new dentist told me I have ZERO cavities. Sure glad I never went back to Aspen!! Dont waste your time here and find a real dental office not out to just steal your money!

I have to say, I am a stickler about service and quality. Thus far they have surpassed both. My husband has many issues w his teeth. The doctors have been very considerate of his feelings, they have not over stated expectations, which we appreciate. So far, his teeth are looking the best they have for a long time. Overall, we are very happy with the overall experience and results. Is it expensive, absolutely. Aspen will work w you, your insurance and any way possible to make sure you can get that winning smile without breaking the bank, Thank you Aspen Dental. I was missing my mans smile and now he can smile w confidence.
