I have had pets my entire life and Dr. Medlin is hands down the best veterinarian that I have ever met. I took my ferret to him almost 3 years ago, after she had become deathly ill. The original clinic I took her to ran a ton of tests and gave her medication, but my baby was dying. That veterinarian did not have a good demeanor, so I opted to find another office to end her suffering. I contacted Medlins Exotic Animal Medical Services and Dr. Scott Medlin took my call. Without ever meeting me in person, Dr. Medlin spent an hour on the phone with me, as he could tell I was distraught. We discussed her symptoms, previous treatments, tests and medications. He asked me to bring Beans (my ferret) to him right away. After arriving at his office, I was prepared for the worst day of my life... The day I was going to have my baby put to sleep. Dr. Medlin literally got on the floor with Beans and observed her, examined her and then said hed like to try a medication change. I was hesitant, because Beans was suffering. Long story short... My Beans went into Dr. Medlins office lifeless and left that very day with bright eyes and a wet pink nose. He is a miracle worker!!! He has given me the best gift anyone could give a mom... So far, 3 extra years and a wonderful/ healthy quality of life for my fur baby. He is not only the most knowledgeable exotic animal Veterinarian Ive ever met, he is also kind, patient and sympathetic. Being a healthcare provider myself, I can only hope to provide my patients with the same level of care that receive every time I walk into his office.

I can not even begin to explain how wonderful Dr. Medlin and his staff are. I unfortunately had a bearded dragon suffering with yellow fungus. Dr. Medlin explained to me exactly the best ways to go about treating this illness and what his plans were. He made sure that I was comfortable with his plan and we went on with treatment. After months of medications and fighting with this awful illness, I decided that unfortunately it was the end of the road for my bearded dragon. I made the decision to euthanize because despite all of our efforts, she was not progressing the way she should have. Now although my bearded dragon had the misfortune of not making through treatment, Dr. Medlin and his staff were more than supportive through the whole process. The staff would call to check on how Velo was doing, we did blood-work to check her progress, and all through out advising me on what else we can do to help her. Even after I made the decision to euthanize due to quality of life and not enough progress through treatment, Dr. Medlin supported my decision and made the whole process of having to put down Velo wonderful. I could not have asked for a better Exotic vet to have helped Velo during this time and HIGHLY recommend him to any seeking an exotic vet for themselves. I even received a hand written sympathy card that after the fact. Dr. Medlin and his staff are beyond a doubt the most dedicated and caring exotic vet clinic around.

Dr. Medlin Exotic Animal Medical Services is the best veterinarian my Wife and I have ever had the pleasure of working with in any part of the United States. 10,000% thankful, grateful and lucky that we found him! Dr. Medlin has saved our wonderful little lion head bunny rabbit twice! He helped us diagnose, fix and bring back to health an issue we had with our rabbit called a G.I. Stasis most recently. And over a year ago he preformed a VERY successful surgery on our rabbits leg. (some kind of odd growth that happened). Personally I want to say this. Dr. Medlin, REALLY deeply cares about the welfare and health of animals in a genuine way. He is a man amongst men and a VERY RARE caring, warm, respectful and great personality. We know nothing lives forever. Dr. Medlin has added more time for us to enjoy our wonderful bunny rabbit! (he is now 6 years old!) I can honestly say this, if you are nervously searching for a GOOD vet like we always did. Please find comfort in the fact that this man is the best vet weve EVER worked with. (thats 20+ years of meow, wuff and boing experience too!!) Finding a good veterinarian is very hard and scary. Dr. Medlin is a great exotic veterinarian and an even better man. This should be a 1,000,000 star review, not a five star. Thank you soooooooo much for helping us and saving our bunny!!!

Dr Medlin and his staff are a welcomed addition to the Ft Myers area. It gives me peace of mind to know I now have a very knowledgeable, highly trained exotics veterinarian here locally. I believe in health checks twice a year and because of this Dr Medlin discovered a few issues in my Eclectus Parrot. He was concerned but conservative in treatment. Never suggesting expensive tests that he felt was unnecessary even though the expense to me would have helped his bottom line. The treatment he suggested is working and she is on the road to recovery. Dr Medlin and his staff are kind, empathic, diligent and the prices are very fair. Thank you for what you do, you are much appreciated.

I took my love birds in to get sexed. I bought them a year and a half ago so I wanted to know if Id see eggs some day. I called in and they told me to get an exam done just in case so I did. Two exams and two blood tests to check the sex. Went fine for the male love bird but the female love bird had a lung infection. They took both birds blood gave them a shot of vitamins since Id been feeding them only seeds. My female love bird has been more active. Went in for a follow up on the female birds are looking good. One male one female woo.

Where do I even begin? Dr. Medlin is by far the best vet I have ever been to! He is very warm and welcoming. Every time we make a visit I know for a fact my baby is in the BEST hands possible! Dr. Medlin is very knowledgeable and takes the time to make sure your questions are fully answered before you even walk out the door. Loki, my little conure, is very comfortable with the doctor and staff to the point of falling asleep while being handled by them. I highly recommend them for any of your exotic needs!

Dr. Medlin and staff, especially Cass, are fabulous! Our bunnies have been in several times and have always gotten the best treatment. You can tell that Dr. Medlin really cares about exotics. He always takes the time to explain whats going on and personally keep owners posted with next steps and outcomes. In an emergency, you can rest easy knowing your babies are in his care. I highly recommend his clinic and services and only wish I could find such a great vet for our dog!

My son had an emergency with Smokey his Ferret...Medlin was booked full this day but managed to squeeze Smokey in between patients and kept my sons finances in mind and did not go overboard with unnecessary testing and procedures..They were truly compassionate and caring people ..SMOKEY LIVES and is doing fine..had Smokey not been ok I still would have thanked this vet and his staff for their beautiful care and compassion..thank you from all who love Smokey and Bandit.
