If I could give NO stars I would!!! DO NOT GO HERE! Please save your animals from this place. Ive never been so upset with a veterinarian office before in my life! They we so terribly rude, aggressive towards my dog, and just didnt care at all! It broke my heart. I left a wreck. My pit mix broke out in hives extremely bad all over his body. When i took him in they were so unfriendly! I was very flustered since my baby wasnt feeling good but I tried to stay positive towards the place. As soon as the vet assistant came into the room I began to give her to whole story on what was going on with him and how he hasnt been him self. She cuts me off says okay, and tried to sell me on their damn monthly pet bs. I said I was not interested and began to finish my story. She cut me off again to tell me he was due for his shots. Just didnt care that my dogs face was swollen and hives all over him. She finally brought in the vet. He and two others walk in which scared my dog (hes a rescue) so he hid behind me. She grabbed my dog by his head and aggressively pulled him towards the dog. REALLY UPSET ME! The doctor came in for five minutes... checked his heart beat said it was from being allergic to fleas. And then began to tell me that he was to put him on a lot of stuff and shell go over it with me and then I can do the pet plan if its too much. The assistant took my dog in the back to get testing and chocked him with the leash and said "dont make me drag you" as I firmly explained to her she WILL NOT BE DRAGGING ANY DOG ESPECIALLY MINE. She brought him back in And the assistant went over money with me. Told me he wants all his shots that are due, (which I was aware for the fifth time) steroids, antibiotics, shampoo, testing and flea medication. I explain to her that the shots are not that important right now due to my dog being very sick and I didnt want to add more stress to him. That I would schedule an appointment to come back to get them. Which she rolled her eyes at me but took them off. I asked if the shampoo that was 40$ worth it and if I could do an oatmeal or something organic instead if that would help. She said "idk everything the dr has up her im going to tell you its a must even if its not, thats my job" I asked if we could take it off and she told me (keep in mind its over $300 for only a few things) this is the very maximum I can take off for you... you have to get this. She gave my dog three shots which he cried about she called him a baby... HES SWOLLEN WITH HIVES! It hurt him! Hes not a baby. Rude b****! First of all NO I do not HAVE to get this. Secondly I can go to any other vet office and get this for him! I hated how they were all about money. They didnt care that my dog who was ill and stressed out. Of course I got everything for my dog. I would spend a million dollars on my dog to make him feel better. But I truly wish I didnt go here to get it. I would have much rather spend $500 on a place that was sweet and actually cared. Im new to Jacksonville. I went to tensiletown and baymeadows animal hospital and I hate them. Please dont go here.

When we moved to Jacksonville from NYC, nothing was what we expected. The people here seemed so phony and we felt really out of place and unhappy with every place we checked out. We were so glad to find Dr. G and feel comfortable with a vet open late and close by. He is an absolute doll and a true professional. Our animals are our family, and it was a blessing to find a place to take them to for quality care. Yes, theyre expensive and yes, theres always going to be some drops or cream or medication that your animal "needs" but Dr. G truly does care about the animals he treats. He is good at what he does, and we are certain he saved our cats life. Unfortunately the manager Kim is a NIGHTMARE of a person and the least professional woman you could ever imagine. She hung up on me, left me on hold, and then gave me dirty looks when I complained about her to Dr. G. She has such a rude nasty attitude, and doesnt even know how to manage her own behavior, much less a vet office. They also do not appropriately manage their grooming or time schedule. My dog was seen by Dr. G at 9am and was supposed to go to straight to grooming after the visit just for a bath. FOUR HOURS LATER and not one person had returned my calls to check on my dog. I finally got Kim on the phone, and she told me my dog hadnt even been bathed yet. They had jammed my giant Newfoundland in a cage, and left him there for 4 HOURS! Naturally I was infuriated and was in tears on the phone with Kim asking how they could just do that to him. She just kept saying "I dont know, hed be in a cage to dry anyway" which didnt even make sense because he hadnt even been bathed yet. Eventually after me arguing and crying on the phone with her, she said "Maam you need to calm down, youre being ridiculous" and she HUNG UP ON ME!!! I called back and she picked up and hung up. I called back again and she picked up, didnt speak, and just left me on hold. I called back again, and another tech answered the phone and actual took care of me. We LOVE Dr. G, but this incident definitely made us question whether or not our animals are actually being taken care of there. If thats how they treat a crying concerned customer, how do they treat a defenseless animal? How do you leave an animal in a cage for hours without oking that with the owners, or even letting us know thats happening? We cant feel certain that our animals are safe at this vet office anymore. Hopefully Dr. G will hire more professional staff who know how to behave and treat people with respect, and a groomer who knows how to stay on schedule, so that we can return to this office and trust that our pets are safe and in good hands. Its a shame that such a good doctor would be flanked with such horrible management. If you bring your pet to this vet, dont leave them there unless its an absolute emergency. And be prepared to spend a TON of money to keep your pet healthy.

Dr. G and his associate veterinarians, his assistants and officer managers/staff, Kim Hanover are not only animal lovers, they are exceptional people and highly skilled individuals who strive for excellence. They are all trustworthy dedicated veterianarians and staff. In addition to the wonderful staff, the flexible hours, SEVEN days a week 7 AM to 8 PM the hours are makes a pet owners life so much easier! Their experience, devotion, and passion for pets is unmatched. In addition to the excellent staff, the flexible hours, the services are amazing also! This vet offers in house grooming services, boarding and also are by far the most reasonably priced veterinarian in town and offer pet plans that can be paid monthly to keep your pets completely up-to-date on shots and tests and keep their bodies happy and healthy for many many years simply by being proactive without breaking the budget! My beloved cat Luke recently ate some toxic flowers and was on the verge of death and Kim, Chris and Dr G saved Lucas life and I am forever in their debt. I highly recommend this veterinarian office and his other office location for their knowledge, their dedication, and for their deep understanding of the needs of both pets and pet owners alike. The flexibility of their business hours they offer is a dream come true for working pet owners and the proactive pet plans they offer make sure your pets are up-to-date affordably on all their needs, all the time. They are GREAT and I would highly recommend giving them a chance at grooming, Preventative care pet plans, routine care and emergency issues for your pets. This is a five star full service vet office to serve ALL of your pets needs and they know how important it is to be available for a pet owner and the animals when WE need them and not just when its convenient for THEM. Baymeadows animal hospital is all about you and your and your pets needs! It is rare to find such passion and ability to please the clients and take care of the animals at a reasonable price all at a one stop shop 7 days a week! Amazing, incredible, excellent and impressive on all levels. They will also call you before administering tests and running up your bill without your permission to make sure that you are aware of what is going on with your pet during their visit and approving the tests and costs so there are NO surprises. We love Baymeadows animal hospital! Keep up the great work and thank you for taking care of my little babies!
