I write this review filled with grief, remorse, and most of all anger. I have been bringing my dog to this Vet since I received her in February. She was 8 weeks old at the time. I received a call 3 days ago from the clinic advising that my precious dog, Luce was due to be spayed. I scheduled my appointment for blood work, then brought her in this morning for the surgery. Upon arrival at 7:00 AM, they advised her blood work was perfect, she was in excellent health, and she would be just fine. At 10:00 AM, I received a call from Dr. Morerro that my dog has passed due to complications with anesthesia. I am distraught, I am beside myself, I am in shock, and most of all, I am heart broken. Never once did they indicate that there was a risk of complications, never once did they warn me that she could potentially die, never once did they advise that my breed (Italian Greyhound) required special care under anesthesia. In fact, they never even had me sign a waiver. I dropped her off for a standard Spay procedure, only to find out that they had killed her 3 hours later. What is infuriating is that they claim they have no idea what went wrong, they claim they dont understand how this could happen, they claim that they are just as shocked as I am. One google search on the internet after the fact showed me countless of pages of the enormous risk Italian Greyhounds face with anesthesia and the complications that could ensue. I returned to the clinic at 11:00 AM to get an explanation, only to get the same answers as previous on the phone - "We have no idea.". WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE WORSE? They then proceeded to ask me for $180 for cremation after they had killed my beloved friend and I had spent in excess of $1,000 in vet fees in the past ten months! Luce, its Italian for The Light and it was the name of my dear friend, my companion, my little pup. She was Italian, an Italian Greyhound to be precise. She was given to me as a gift from great friends, and brought "The Light" into my life, if even for a short period of time. Today, she quietly left this world due to complications from surgery from an incompetent Veterinarian. My heart is so heavy with sorrow I cant put into words. She liked to run, she loved to jump, and she knew she had me wrapped around her paw; even when I pretended to be irritated by her. I will miss you more than you know and am ever so grateful that you were brought into my life. May you rest in peace. Our pets are our family. I would not trust them with this vet. Regardless of the response, you cannot fix the fact that my beloved family member is gone, no matter what explanation they try to give. Are you willing to risk your familys life to them? Worse yet, theyll charge you for it. Its ridiculous, its absurd, and its just plain insensitive. There are so many other clinics that actually do have empathy, take pride in caring for your loved ones as if they were their own. Im heartbroken, Im distraught, and I cannot forgive you for your malpractice. Worse yet, the gilt of me selecting this clinic to care for my family member will live with me forever.

This place has a GREAT potential, the staff is very nice and welcoming, they always remember the dog and that is a BIG plus! But a couple negative experience made me decide, to only take my puppy there, if Doctor David can take care of her. Otherwise, I found her another place to go. - One doctor, tested and treated Lola, for bad case of dhiarrea, when the fecal results came back, she told us to continue the medication anyways, but as my baby wasnt getting better, I called to ask what I should do, and was invited to come pick up some prescription food. I was in disbelief, that her answer, was only for us to spend more money, without even suggesting a home made food diet first (which we did, after looking the dhiarrea thing online and it actually fixed Lolas issue) - Lola woke up with a conjunctivitis ( we could tell what it was) so we called for an appointment, they only had availabilities on thursday (we were monday) so when I said it was for her eye, I was told to bring her in today as emergency, and wed have to pay $140 for the visit as emergency + whatever tests/medications etc.. And we were given the option to come in at 9 am or 3pm. If you give me the option between 2 times, this is not an emergency appointment anymore, not to me. If youre gonna charge me $140, it should be right there and then, squeeze me in between patients, whenever a doctor has a little time. Otherwise, it means, you have those two openings, and are just milking my money by calling my appointment " emergency" I could be wrong, but this really didnt seem right to me, also considering that you HAVE to have some openings for new puppy buyers as, people who buy from Just Puppies have to bring their dog in, 48hours from buying it. I dont usually leave reviews, but truthfully, Im doing so in hope that, you guys can change some in the way you handle things. Ill be bringing my puppy back to Dr. David, as he is wonderful and our first choice to take care of Lola, period, but if hes not available I will be taking her elsewhere, and honestly, its annoying to have two vets. While Lola doesnt mind, it means always updating one another of things treated at the other place. I would honestly prefer coming to Baldwin all the time, but wont be doing so, unless things change.

After moving back to the US with our pooch recently, we were in need of a new doctor for her. We were looking forward to hopefully meeting a wonderful veterinarian here at Animal Hospital Baldwin Park after doing some research and seeing all the positive reviews online. I called yesterday morning and made an appointment for 7:30 tonight. Doing so required me leaving work early which would have been worth it. We showed up promptly at 7:30 and were told by Janice that someone (not sure who?) was clocking out and we wouldnt be seen. I explained to her that when I called yesterday morning and reserved an appointment it was at 7:30 tonight. She said "You were told 7:15 not 7:30 so you will not be seen tonight" in an unprofessional and a confrontational manner. I politely asked if I could reschedule and she said I would have to wait until she got back to make an appointment. I told her it was ok and that we would go elsewhere. She then turned around without saying a word and walked off. If she had treated me in a professional manner with respect and courtesy, I may have chosen to try and reschedule but I just couldnt bring myself to engage anymore in the conversation. I work in a medical facility myself and I am in contact with patients and patients families each day and if my attitude, demeanor and lack of professionalism ever mirrored hers, I would be terminated immediately. Not only did I lose money today by leaving work early, I am now faced with trying to find a new office for my fur baby to be seen in. I am not in anyway saying that this office is a bad place to bring your pups or that the doctors are lacking- I am writing this to put a spotlight on the office staff member that I interacted with today. I hope the owner/ manager can give her a lesson on customer service.
