Honesty is a trait that is missing these days. My sisters dog had a emergency and we were referred here after the emergency vet said we needed a neurologist asap. They called and said we were to see a Dr. Johnson. When we arrived a gentleman stepped into the room and gave us his name..We asked about Dr. Johnson. He told us she was not available and he would be taking care of us. Well after several trips out of the room and back again. He told us that the dog needed a MRI and possible other test. Ranging about 2500-3000 dollars. I finally asked if he was a neurologist. He told us he was not. But had been on the phone with Dr. Johnson. It was then I began to ask questions. For we had just seen a ER vet. He then became angry and told us if we werent interested in the test. Then the dog would die a horrible death. And he would recommend euthanasia. We decided to leave. Paid another emergency bill for absolutely nothing. My sister loves her dog so we contacted our regular vet who referred us to a true neurologist in Stuart..After a wonderful visit. And some answers. My sisters dog is on the road to recovery. If we had listened and trusted this place-my sisters dog would not be here today!! It saddens me that we were mislead. Animal deserve much better treatment then this. I will tell everyone who has gone here. Get a second opinion. Your pets life might depend on it..

My wife brought a dying cat she found on the side of the road into Pet Emergency asking that it be euthanized immediately because it was suffering badly after being hit by a car. The cat was brought to the back room by a technician. At least five minutes passed before the technician came out to ask if the "consent to euthanize" was signed. When my wife complained that the signing should have taken place when the cat was brought to the back room, the receptionist rudely suggested that they go elsewhere. The paperwork was signed and more time went by before my wife heard the cat shriek. Our veterinarian tells us that many other pet owners have had the same bad experience. My wife has volunteered in animal rescue for 20 years and highly recommends anyone NOT to go to the Pet Emergency on Northlake. Go to the Veterinary Specialty Hospital on Hood Road if you love your pet!

I have a 7 year old Chihuahua which was attacked by a pitbull/mix early in the morning a week ago. Dr. Thomas and his staff performed surgery to remove Napoleons spleen and a great deal of his intestines which were severly damaged. I cant thank the staff enough for their compassion for both me and my animal! They kept me updated to progress throughout his stay with them and made sure I understood his care at home when released. Past that, they called to check in on him which I felt was going above and beyond. They understood that Napoleon isnt just a pet ~ he is my family and they treated him as their family. I hope that I dont have to have emergency care for my dog again but know that I will trust Pet Emergency should that happen. Thanks Dr. Thomas and staff!

Dr. Hansen is my hero!!!! Without him my baby, petey wouldnt be sitting next to me right now. Petey was my foster puppy and we ended up adopting him which wouldnt have been possible if it werent for dr. hansen. Peteys surgery was a scary one, he was getting open heart surgery because he was born with a hole in his heart. Due to the fact that he was a little, young puppy his chances of surviving through the surgery were not great. He made it and we received him back after a couple of day! Justin Bartlett animal rescue searched everywhere for a good price to perform this surgery and dr. Hansen thankfully provided them with it. Thank you dr. Hansen for giving Justin bartlett animal rescue a great price and for saving my dog! i would definitely recommend you

We took our pitbull here in the middle of the night with a terrible laceration that we could not stop from bleeding, we were taken into a room right away and all the staff was nice and calm which is what we needed at the time of visit because my husband was already nervous because of all the blood. The staff knew what they were doing and told us promptly what they would be doing and presented an estimate which is less than i expected (not by any means cheap, but better than i was imaging!). They also gave us an estimated time frame, in which they met, and took care of our pup and even offer services for us that they generally do not take care of. I am grateful that they took care of us and stayed calm and professional.

Wow, this place was quick and amazing. My baby (doggie) had a bad reaction..she had hives and her face was getting swollen, Im not sure what caused it..maybe the Christmas tree, a bite or just a bad allegic reaction but my boyfriend called the office and was told to come right in. When we got to the office...the MA took her straight back and gave her the injections she needed. The staff and Dr.Thomas was amazing.. a bit pricey but worth it. Never thought I would use this place but Im glad it was there... thank you! I would definitely bring her back in case of an emergency like last night and would highly recommend this place. :)

Thank you Pet Emergency for taking wonderful care of our feline son, Foxy. Dr. Wes and the staff took immediate action when our Foxy was unable to urinate due to bacteria blockages. Foxy has expierenced this problem before and he let us know he was in pain. We rushed him over at 7am on Saturday morning, Dr. Wes answered all of our questions and put us at comfort. The nurses and staff at Pet Emergency are super professional and I knew our Fox would be just fine. Foxy is home now resting on the couch in his favorite spot. Thank you, thank you and more thank you to the wonderful caring staff at Pet Emergency and Referral Center.

I used to take my black lab to safe harbor.when we found a tumor in her ear,we took her to safe harbor and not only did I get the same bad feeling I usually get walking into that clinic but my dog would absolutely not go in and we had to drag her in. Walking into Dr.Hansens office,I felt great relief when greeted by his staff and Hansen did his absolute best to help my dog and to work with us on paying for the surgery.I love my dog and Dr.Hansen is my hero. This is a great clinic and I will never go back to safe harbor.

Dr. Thomas was amazing. You can tell he is truely in business to help animals. We brought our kitten in sure he was not going to make it. Dr. Thomas was respectful and honest with everything, including the bill. The staff was understanding and great, phone calls always answered and returned. And my husband is bringing our baby home now! An emergency vet visit on a Sunday morning is never anything anyone wants to go through but I am so glad I ended up at their door, and so is my sweet kitten!
