I wasnt really happy with the 2 vets on staff. Everyone and everything seemed fine. The place was nice, the staff was friendly, but both vets were ready to write my 15 year old cat off for having brain cancer or something neurologically wrong with her. I know they have to discuss every reason or possibility the reason could be but i felt like when he brought up maybe she got into drugs and i said "no" and then he continued on that path i was a little more than annoyed. I bring my cat in because she was acting almost drunk, stumbling, vomiting, and out of sorts for the first time ever in her 15 years (for everything but vomiting.) I was very worried and concerned because she is clearly my fur baby and im being told brain cancer or im a druggie... lol i dont even smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol and i have no one in my home that does either. My final thought is i feel they didnt listen when i asked if it could be some other possibilities. I live with her every day. She is with me all day. Im aware of things she does. I mentioned that she licks everything in sight. Could she have possibly licked something poisonous or a chemical. This seemed the most logical to me based on knowing her. She must have got into something that i didnt see. Maybe dried bugspray on the patio or something. Anyways weeks later and she is completely normal as always. There is nothing going on neurological with her. Everything is as it has always been. Im relieved but i just wish the vets would listen a little better without scaring you for no reason. For instance the one vet said right away when he examined her that it was probably her liver based on her age. When they get that age its usually time. Well we patiently waited there while they ran the bloodwork and he came back in the room and said how great her numbers were and he thought for sure it would have been that. That he was expecting to see her liver around 12 and she was at 4. So this is my point, why scare people to death without finding out first. She might live to be 20 or so. And that day he lead me to believe it was time to put her down when he left to go do her bloodwork. No he did not actually say that but yes i was worried and lead to believe it for nothing. Nothing against them if they read this. Im sure they are right about a lot of things. This was just an expensive and bad visit for us i guess. Just my opinion on my visit. :/ I just noticed 2 other negative reviews and 1 was a cat 15 years old too. Im thinking this might just not be a good place to go to if you have a cat. Like that reviewer i paid i believe $320 for nothing except to find out her bloodwork was good. I wont be going back to that vet. I will find an all cats vet next time.

Friday 10/7/11 of last week, I was assisting my 80 year old mother with a move back home to Chicago. We had decided to fly her dog with us rather than driving back. 3 hours before the flight, we realized we didnt have a current health certificate for the dog. I called and was told that the doctor was not going to be back until 2:30 leaving us very little time to drive the hour to Tampa airport, get through security, etc., but we had no choice as we didnt want to be turned away at the gate for improper paperwork. In stepped a fantastic employee named Becky, who was there to help! She started asking questions to begin filling out the paperwork right there and then so when the vet arrived we would speed up the process. I decided to park in the lot with mom and the dog in hopes that maybe we could get in early, well by 1:30 Becky came out to the car to tell us to come in as the doctor and tech were in fact back from lunch. They moved us through the exam and final paperwork quickly and got us on our way, in plenty of time to make our flight! You can really tell a great deal about an organization by how they respond when you, the customer are in crisis mode. Great people! Empathetic to our challenge, professional in their care and attitude! I would highly recommend this vet and the staff!

I took my poor cat Taz there because his hair was falling out and I thought he had fleas. I had helped him since he was a baby and he was a rescue. They ran numerous tests and $340 later they told me there was nothing wrong. After he urinated all over the exam table they tested the urine (from the table) and gave him an antiboitic shot with some ear drops and sent me walking home with him in his cage on my way. Shortly after he developed fleas and I tried to get a prescription from them so I could save $20 from 800 pet meds and they wouldnt give me a prescription. This cat didnt live outside either. The Owner Beal which oddly enough is my KIN, wouldnt even look at my cat again and sent me his records without a prescription and told me to take him to the emergency ward and refused to help him any more. This poor cat suffered for months and almost all of his hair fell out and his skin fell off LITERALLY. Ive never seen any thing like it in my life! If I were you I wouldnt grace this places door step with my beloved pet! This poor cat did not deserve to die like he did and the jerk that runs this place needs to find a new profession. This cat was like my child and I took care of him for 15 years!

For over 2.5 years I have been taking my cat (and now 2 cats) here. I was previously going to a vet in Bradenton but the staff seemed cold and detached. This Palmetto Clinic is the opposite, all of the staff members are friendly, love and understand animals, and are eager to answer questions. They know how to comfort my cats, Im able to buy Revolution flea treatment from them, and the office staff are super friendly and dont seem to mind when I stop by to ask anything. My cats also occasionally board here and the vet techs do a wonderful job of keeping my cats clean, fed, and busy with toys and socialization.

1st, The girl at the front desk never ever ever greets you or seems pleasant. 2nd, Upcoming wedding plans and we made kennel reservations for the weekend. When we arrived Fri 100pm they were closed . No phone call, nothing. Only a posted note saying "the doctor had the afternoon off and they would be open to sell product". Ive lived in town for 10 years and slowly have been giving my pet care business elsewhere. I cant believe that a business would simply close without calling customers with kennel reservations. Much better choices out there, John And Molly Coyne

I have been a client here for about 20 years. The staff and doctors are very caring, professional, and are on the cutting edge of the vet world. I could not ask for a better office to take my animals. One can only wish that they can find a beautiful facility, highly caring staff, doctors who love the animals and care very highly about everyone elses. I can not say how much I appreciate all they have done for my animals over the years. The love and dedication in this office is one to experience. Thanks Palmetto Animal for being the best .
