Could not be more disgusted with a medical practice! From the start of my pregnancy, both Dr Ross and Yoo were the most insensitive people to speak of my 1st unborn child! Ive never heard of Drs speaking of the death of an unborn baby like those two. My baby was a little peanut and continues to be so now that she is on the outside. But she is healthy and happy!!! Isnt that what we all want for our little ones?! The Drs made me believe that she wouldnt make it unless they gave me steroids and weekly ultrasounds! Everything they did was obviously over kill and probably because theyve most likely been sued for malpractice! They actually told me (when I started to question all of the ultrasounds and why I needed to see a specialist when I could simply get an ultrasounds sent over) that I sounded like I only cared about myself and not at all for my unborn child! Who says things like that to a pregnant woman!? Then comes the front desk...also completely unprofessional in their communication regarding billing with patients. Every time I walked through the door (which became weekly because they told me that if I didnt go get checked, I risked my baby dying!), the front desk staff asked the same ridiculous question: "are you aware you have a large outstanding balance?" as awkwardly loud as possible to make sure the rest of the patients in the waiting room could hear! Then when I got the bills paid, its taking forever to get my $1000 refund. Theyre quick to collect but not so quick to refund! Also as part of my postpartum visits, they snuck in almost $500 of additional lab bills that were never discussed with me prior to doing and now Carol (office manager/billing dept) tells me "well you shouldve known that lab bills are separate."....HOW COULD I HAVE KNOWN?! THIS WAS MY FIRST CHILD AND I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT A POSTPARTUM VISIT INCLUDED ANY LAB WORK?! A little heads up wouldve been nice. Funny how now that I have a credit coming to me, LAB bills arent included in my treatment. Seems like theyll do anything to keep my money! This office is a joke and looking for a money grab from any poor soul like me who just didnt know better. Id give it no stars but its not an option.

I just called this office this afternoon on behalf of my friend, who is placing her baby for adoption in February. She is 30 weeks along and was unaware she was pregnant for a while. When she did get a positive test, she fought with Medicaid to get insurance for several weeks, so she was unable to get prenatal care. Once her temporary Medicaid came through, she found that this office wouldnt see her, and said they dont take women this far along. I called and explained the situation, and asked if they could see this frightened young girl who just wants to make sure she and the baby are okay. The office manager, Carol, got on the phone and curtly refused to see her. I asked why, seeing as how she was pregnant and scared and was trying to do the right thing. She said, and I quote "If youll let me finish, I will tell you. Thirty one weeks is not the time to be seeking medical care. If she wanted to do the right thing, she shouldve found an OB a long time ago. She could have the baby any day." When I reminded her she had 9-10 weeks left and what was she supposed to do, she recommended that my friend just go to an ER and be a walk-in delivery. I was taken aback by her rudeness, and told her as much. I said I thought she was condescending and rude and they must have forgotten why they are in the medical field. She told me she didnt have to listen to my opinion on the matter, or my attitude. I found this laughable, considering her attitude the second she picked up the phone. I told her that and hung up. I have never understood why doctors tolerate such rude and unprofessional staff. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. The doctor could be the best in the city and it wouldnt matter—with staff like this, youll never be treated well. I cant believe people in business to help pregnant women would be okay with not only refusing service, but trying to shame and condescend to young girls on top of it. Unbelievable.

My care throughout my pregnancy was pretty standard, nothing great. Neither Dr. Ross nor his wife, Dr. Yoo have any bedside manner what so ever. Dr. Ross is extremely rough. The midwife Lisa (who is no longer with the practice) & Melissa the PA were the only reasons I continued with this practice throughout my first pregnancy. Linda in the front office is HORRIBLE!!! Everytime I would need to call I would pray that Shay would answer the phone because she is SO sweet and compassionate! I called about my induction date & Linda told me there were no openings for the day I we supposed to be induced.. Without even checking with anyone. So when I showed up to the office for my appointment & I was over 40 weeks everyone was scrambling trying to figure out why or how I had an office appointment instead of an induction appointment causing me to be 9 days overdue. Linda really needs to find a new career path because caring for others isnt for her. In the office Kristen seemed nice enough, however she ended up delivering me and it was a bad experience. She checked me once & I was 5cm and about 30-45 min later I told my nurse I knew that something was off, when she got Kristen to check me again she had the worst attitude, even rolling her eyes saying that it would be HOURS before I would deliver & that first time moms dont go that fast. Luckily, I know my body and when she checked I was 10cm & ready to push. She then told my husband multiple times that I would likely be pushing for hours.... 35 min later my child was born. While I was pushing she was complaining to a nurse about two other women that were coming in at 32 weeks for decreased fetal movement, WHILE I WAS PUSHING she was discussing someone else! The following day she stopped in for all of 3 seconds & I never saw or heard from her again. I would never go to this practice for a pregnancy again.

I dont understand all the negative reviews for this office, Im pretty picky with my doctor choices and I was thoroughly impressed! Im new to the area and spent many hours of research before choosing Coastal OBGYN. I did not want a huge practice. I wanted an office that felt more intimate, one where I didnt feel like just another patient. I wanted someone who was sincere and listened to my concerns. When I called in to make an appointment I was expecting to have to wait a week or two to get in, they had availability next day! The lady I spoke to was kind and courteous. Upon arrival I waited no more than 10 mins to be brought to the back. The nurse was very sweet and personable. I was seen by Melissa (again just a short wait time) She was professional, knowledgeable, listened to what I had to say, answered all my questions and genuine. She spent nearly an hour with me. This was exactly what I had hoped for and more! An overall great experience! I would have no problem recommending this office to others and I look forward to seeing them for my regular visits!
