RUN! Do not use Aspen as your dental provider, unless you enjoy being lied to and terrible customer service. We used Aspen for a basic cleaning a few months ago. Everything seemed great since they were in our dental insurance provider network and conveniently located near our home. Having moved around quite often for my job, weve utilized multiple dental providers over the years, and there are typically no out of pocket expenses for a basic exam/cleaning. With Aspen, the problems started right away. First, we were forced to make two separate appointments just to get a cleaning, as they "require" an initial exam prior to a cleaning, and they wont allow you to do both on the same day. A little strange, but not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. When I showed up for the 2nd appointment, I was told they contacted my insurance provider, and the only thing that wasnt covered was $20 for a fluoride treatment. Again, a little strange since a cleaning is usually fully covered, but not a big deal. The real problems began a month later, when I received a fairly large bill for a portion of the exam that they claimed my insurance did not cover. I called to remind them that they told me all but $20 would be covered, and I was told they would have their Regional Director void the charge. I received a 2nd notice of an unpaid bill from Aspen a month later, so I called back to remind them they were supposed to credit my account based on the first conversation. I was told once again not to worry, this would be addressed. I received a final notice of overdue payment after another 30 days, and called once again, this time attempting to escalate the situation to their management. I was assured it would be addressed within 1-2 days, and told not to worry about the bill. Fast forward 6wks, and I just received a notice from a debt collection agency, which is absolutely unbelievable! Be forewarned, Aspen is run like a corporation, and the bottom line is 10x more important than the service they provide. You should expect to be lied to, and you will likely pay more than they tell you at the time of service. Their practices are deceptive at best, and we will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and our lawyer to sort out this mess. Im hoping that by writing this review, others can seek dental service elsewhere and avoid a similar ordeal.

The facility was clean, seemed to run efficiently and the dentist and hygienist were top notch. However, communication of cost estimates and billing has turned out to be a nightmare, as another reviewer has mentioned. After my initial exam, I was told I would need a more expensive, deep cleaning. Okay. I will concede my teeth needed some attention. But, didnt expect this would not covered by my insurance under certain circumstances and this information was not disclosed during the initial estimate and payment. I was warned that, sometimes, insurance only allows a restricted amount of these procedures within a week. The office manager, who was very professional, checked on this and assured me this was not a problem with my insurance. I left with a credit card payment receipt, but thats it. Regretably, I didnt request an intemized estimate with evidence of our conversation. In my ignorance, I didnt know I would need it. A few weeks later, after the completion of the procedure, a bill arrived. Turns out...they denied some of the bulled procedures for the reason I was assured would not be a problem. I would have gladly come in for separate visits if it would have meant a lower bill. I would have appreciated upfront, accurate pricing information and estimates. After receiving the bill, I spoke with the office representatives, again very professional and kind. Unfortunately, they couldnt provide me with any clarification or answers. Ive been told the office manager will contact me tomorrow. Well see...Im sure Ill end up paying the $400 on top of the initial $300. So, yes, thats $700 for a cleaning. Mind you, in the past, at previous dentists, I managed to get away with a standard cleaning which is covered by insurance. So, if you choose this dentist be sure (a) leave with detailed paperwork and (b) call your insurance company to make sure the cost estimate was correct. Or, you could end up like me, paying $700 to have your teeth cleaned. Update: I did end up receiving a call back. Apparently, my insurance was input incorrectly. I ended up being impressed with the customer service, as they are taking care of the remaining bill.

I was on vacation with my family for the Thanksgiving holiday when I lost part of my temporary filling due to a root canal I was in the process of having done. Worried about my tooth because I was not going to be abke to go to my dentist in Ohio for seven days I called last minute and Aspen Dental were able to get me in first thing Friday morning. I was very nervous when I arrived because this was not my normal dentist but as soon as I walked I was given a warm welcome by the front staff and that automatically eased my fears. Next the dental assistant Eder and dental hygienest Mihn took xrays and took a look at my whole mouth. After that Dr. Scott examined my mouth and told me what he recommended. I was so impressed with the whole Aspen Crew that I had them do my routine cleaning and two filiings that were scheduled to be done by my regular dentist in Ohio. I was never pressured or pushed. I plan on returning in June to have my routine dental work done. Thank you Dr. Scott, Eder, Mihn and the very personal and professional front desk staff for all your help!

There is something about this place that seems off. My boyfriend went here today. They told him he needed a filling and a deep gengivitis cleaning. He is only 22 and takes good care of his teeth so I think it was unnecessary. I feel like they are after money especially when they tried to make him pay for his next cleaning in advance. Why would anyone pay for a dentist in advance it just seems strange to me. In the end those two things ended up costing 312 dollars. We will not be going back. Maybe this is totally normal but I dont know I just get a bad feeling about this place. My mother also went there and was told she had to pay a total of 1200 dollars she paid it but she was then sent a bill for 350 dollars on top of that.

When I learned of Aspen Dental I, immediately, went to see if there advertisement for first free checkup was true. To my surprise Aspen Dental lived up to their promise. The business is very clean and has the latest technology. The staff greeted me in a very pleasant manner and exhibited a genuine concern for my care, despite the fact that I told them I was afraid of dentists since childhood. Aspen Dental is the one place that treats you like a human being with dignity and respect. The assessment that the dentists provide are complete and very detailed. There is no doubt as to which way you want your care done after they have described your evaluation. I, highly, recommend Aspen to everyone who reads this review.

Excellent Staff & Space Their office is spacious and clean and the staff are all friendly, polite, and savvy. First impressions are what count and Aspen Dental did not let me down. This is not a triage-style dental facility which is what I was dreading; Ive had bad experiences in Tampa. Instead, the examination rooms are separated and have TVs to keep you entertained while you wait. The noise level from other rooms was negligible making it very comfortable. The staff made you feel welcome and were all smiles. I like that the doctor was willing to go over the x-rays with me in detail. I had zero issues the entire time I was there and plan on keeping this as my dentist for as long as possible.
