I came to Elegant Smiles for a cleaning. They did everything but the cleaning. They took various X-rays and a"root scaling". it was very painful and I suppose it is not supposed to be if you floss religiously however, the tool is very sharp and essentially digs into your gums as an effort to "measure the pockets". I was told that they would not be doing a general cleaning as I was in need of a "deep cleaning". My price for the deep cleaning would be approximately $400 after insurance. A deep cleaning consists of numbing, and 2 visits at about 1.5-2 hours each. I also needed a night guard which would cost me $700, but they would "try to give me a discount" prior to me asking. This indicated to me that it was far overpriced. After an hour lecture on flossing which was excessive and redundant, no teeth cleaning, and an absonant quote, I left frustrated. I called my insurance where they explained to me that Elegant Smiles was out of network (typically a dentist office is supposed to let you know this). I then called to cancel my appointments, and they then told me they would accommodate my in-network pricing. I decided to go elsewhere that is in-network for a second opinion, and thank god I did. Elegant Smiles told me a I had a cavity, which I did not. My new dentist enlightened me on deep cleanings, and just how invasive these cleanings are- and how unnecessary it was for me to do this as I showed no signs whatsoever of needing such an invasive procedure and if I ever in fact was in need of such a procedure, a periodontist appointment is highly recommended. Furthermore, the nightguard I received was $260 dollars as opposed to $700, and I finally got my regular cleaning. Needless to say I now floss religiously and have no bleeding, infection, or pain- unlike what I was told I would be dealing with if I did not do the deep cleaning Elegant Smiles highly recommended. I am new to Atlanta and am very glad I made the decision to go elsewhere for a second opinion. They did not value my time and took advantage by unnecessarily frightening me into a painful procedure I was not in need of.

I havent been to the dentist in YEARS, however, I will be going every 6 months (as your supposed to) because of my experience at Elegant Smiles yesterday! When I walked in I felt like I was at home (hints to the cute wall of patients photos). Miki is the kindess/sweetest receptionist I have ever met. All of my questions and concerns were handled professionally and politely. Ellen, the dental assistant was friendly/funny. While taking my x-rays, she pulled up YouTube and let me listen to one of my favorite singers (Beyoncé). Dr. Ryo was also extremely friendly and informative. Each step, tool and term was explained to me in detail. Im sure he had a full load of patients that day, but I wouldve never guessed it due to the personal time he took with me. Sadly, I found out that I had 7 caivities (horrible I know). Dr. Ryo gave me a discount the procedure which showed me that me truly cares about the health of his patients and is not in this profession just for the money! ***Btw, this discount was included with the $25 referral credit I have and the FREE $200 teeth whitening special that new patients receive (not sure when this is ending). I have never experienced as much personal time as this staff gives. In past dental experiences, I felt rushed while being surrounded by thousands of other dental hygienists and patients (exaggeration but you know what I mean). I live 45mins away from this office but I am willing to make that drive for this great customer service!

I’ve been going to Elegant Smiles since Dr. Ryo took over the practice of my retiring dentist last year, and I had some major dental work done there late last year. I must say that Dr. Ryo and his staff (Ellen, Miki, Diana, and Carmen) have helped make the transition a pleasant and a winning one. Dr. Ryo has the skill and the personality to have a successful practice for a very long time; I was extremely pleased with the quality of the work he has done, so much in fact, that I consider him a master. He is very attentive to the patient’s needs, and is very careful to eliminate most, if not all, pain for the patient, constantly monitoring the patient for discomfort. I.e., he has a great bedside manner. Also, Dr. Ryo is very generous and stands behind his work, which has been superb so far. Dr. Ryo and his staff are so personable and fun that every visit is at least somewhat pleasurable, no matter what the dental procedure happens to be. Miki, Diana, and Carmen are lots of fun, and Ellen is a joy to be with. The office offers the perfect combination of frivolity and professionalism. Although admittedly not particularly important, the staff is also young and very attractive, which is just an added bonus. I consider myself very fortunate to have found another great dental practice.

I researched some dentists in the Brookhaven area and chose Dr.Ryo on a whim. I am self pay and received a flyer in the mail offering a discount. Upon arriving to my appointment, I was blown away. The office is modern, comfortable and clean. The receptionist and billing are sweet and friendly to talk to. Once I was called back to begin, they took XRays. The X-ray tech was extremely professional and it was an easy process. Next, I got to meet Dr.Ryo. I think Dr. Ryo was meant to be a dentist! He is so professional, responsive, patient and listens to his patients! He eventually asked me "what do you want to change about your smile?" And guided me through the procedures in a very calming manor. Being self pay, I signed up for their "no insurance program" which is not only affordable but includes cleanings and discounts on fillings, etc. I eventually came back to get a filling and was once again blown away with the service. Dr. Ryo wants his patients to feel comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend this practice and foresee Elegant Smiles being mine and my families Dentist for a long time. Thanks Dr. Ryo!

Dr. Ryo, Karen, Malika, Diana, and Mickey are all whom I had the pleasure of meeting at Elegant Smiles for my first dental experience there. Mickey and Diana warmly greeted with me upon my arrival and did an excellent job of keeping me informed beforehand as well. Karen kindly talked me through the importance of flossing and brushing as well as informed me more about oral health and gum/bacteria formation. She played Queen for me and calmly as well as gently proceeded with cleaning my teeth. Dr. Ryo was informative and genuine. I could tell he was giving me his honest feedback and best recommendations to maximize my health most effectively, efficiently, and cost friendly. I never felt pressured or pushed. Just informed and assured. The office space is beautiful and the dentist chairs are comfy! This is an updated, modern environment that creates a warm and soothing experience from the moment you walk in. Going to the dentist isnt so scary anymore (: Thank you again Elegant Smiles for the great customer service and dental care! *Sorry if I misspelled any names!

My entire process at Elegant Smiles was AMAZING everyone is professional, very nice, and knowledgeable. There location is almost in the heart of Atlanta which was great, they offer a in office dental plan I got enrolled in due to not having dental insurance at the time which is a good plan because it offers discounts on all procedures in office, they partner with CareCredit to help with cost of procedures possibly needed, and understood i havent been to the dentist in awhile so they explained every step in detail and also took it VERY easy on me as far as pain for my root canal service I got done. I will not go anywhere else I love there service and the employees for being so personable and still getting everything done correct. KUDOS Dr. Ryo, Miki, ellen, and dayanna
