Brought my dog to Gwinnett Animal Clinic in hopes of finding a new vet. My vet had become all about the money and less about the pet. My dog need to have some fatty tissue lumps removed and a skin tag on the eye removed. Took him in and pointed out all the places in question. Made an appt. to bring him back. Took him in and was able to pick him up at 3:00. Surprisingly to me, they had only removed the skin tag on the eye. The lumps were still there. They claimed their technician said my husband told him not to remove them which he didnt. The whole point was to take them while he was under anesthesia for the eye. Took him back the next day where they put him under again. Went to pick him up after three and two of the lumps were still there. They claimed my husband told them to just take the ones on the back leg. Really?!! He got sick this time from the anesthesia so we decided to wait to take him back in for that right away. We waited the suggested time to have the stitches removed and the technician said everything was healed up nicely. A couple hours later, my son brought to my attention that my dogs back surgical cut was gaping open, obviously not healed enough to remove the stitches. Called at 5:30 and after explaining what was going on was told they were about to close. The Dr. got on the phone and said shed wait if Id bring him on over. I did and the whole time shes stapling the wound up (with no local numbing) she was saying how she had to get out of there to pick her child up at daycare. Was wondering why someone would work in the medical field with all its emergencies without a backup plan for picking up her child if she was help up. While stapling him I pointed out a lump very close to the one she took out and she agreed that she didnt possibly see how shed missed that and that it was really obvious. Got him home an hour later two of the staples came loose. It was too late to go back, so put a bandage over it to hold until the morning. Called to make the appt. and stated my displeasure as well as surprise they stapled him up without numbing him first. Was told the staples didnt hurt, they stapled themselves all the time. Maybe so, but not on skin that is fresh from surgery. He winced every time they put one in. Decided to having the remaining lumps removed since he had to go under to have the other place sewn up again. A different Dr. (Dr. Wallis I believe) worked on him this time. Was told later when I called that the Dr. wanted to speak with me. Not "your dog came through just fine and hes o.k.", just the Dr. wants to speak with you. Their front office staff has horrible customer service skills. Spoke with Dr. Wallis and thought I should ask about what lumps he took just in case. I mentioned the one the other Dr. and I found on the rear leg. He said, "what lump". Really? Obviously, no one had put this in his file. He put me on hold and said itd be no problem to take that off with a local. Felt more confident with this Dr. in charge. Will not see anyone else but him in the future. I will go back there because they do have good prices, but if the office staff continues to have the same demeanor, not sure Ill be able to deal with that. Its the younger ones. There was an older front desk person that seemed to know what she was doing. The others not so much. Taking him back in today to get the final stitches out so well see how that goes. This was over a four day period. Something that should have been taken care of in one day.

I recommend this place to everyone and they love it! I have friends and family that come here from Atlanta just to stay with these vets. I have four dogs and they are always reasonable with prices. They also got my puppy through Parvo when he was less than 1 lb., and they were keeping him overnight with 24 hour care for a reasonable price. I was calling non-stop and they were really understanding. Recently we found a stray kitten and the doctors stuck by us for 6 months of visits until the kitten became too ill. They were so sweet to my nephew. They rubbed his back while he cried, made him a commemorative kitten paw imprint, and sent him a sympathetic card weeks later. They really helped us through a hard time! In addition I was quoted $800 to fix my dogs eye one time at a fancy vet, and Gwinnett Animal Clinic did it for $200. I have only great things to say about these people they really care about the pets and their owners!

Dr Wallis is extremely knowledgeable, kind, gentle, and compassionate....everything youd want in a Veterinarian! I like to describe him as an "Animal Person" AND a "People Person", because he connects so sincerely with pets AND their owners, and I have never felt rushed ! In fact, Dr Wallis is very patient with all my questions , and treats ALL of his clients,( two-legged and four-legged) like VIPs. God bless you Dr Wallis for all the great care youve given our dogs over the years.

Ive been taking my pets to Dr. Wallis for over 26 years and love this veterinarian very much. He and his staff cared for my Sandy until her last breath with lots of love and compassion. With our second pooch Misty, for the last seven years this is the clinic we bring her to and the care has not changed, its been great. Also, when others are charging an arm and a leg, theyve kept the rates competitively. Congratulations Dr. Wallis and entire staff.

Weve been taking our pets to this awesome vet for more than 20 years. They always fit us in when we need to be seen, they recognize our pets by name, they explore all possibilities when there is a problem and have sent us out to reputable specialists when needed. Vet care can be expensive and they work to keep costs down as well. Never had one complaint for them.
