I remember taking our dog to the old Burr Ridge Vet Clinic on Rt. 83 and thinking it was fine. I moved to Wisconsin for a few years and had an excellent vet there who allowed my cat to become acclimated to the room before examining him and always performed a thorough wellness exam. My recent experience at Burr Ridge was pretty disappointing, compared to what I had gotten used to. First, the receptionists had lost the full medical file that I had asked to be sent to them from my old clinic (I know it was sent because I received my copy of it). We came into the room and my cat was immediately given a preliminary exam by the tech. The vet came in shortly afterward and gave a pretty sloppy and quick exam in my opinion, which did not include a flea check or much interest in his history. I found her to be less than satisfactory in her knowledge as well when I questioned her about routine care and vaccinations. But what really was the deciding factor was that my cat was pretty traumatized by the experience. He is normally an extremely confident and outgoing cat, even in new environments. At the end of my visit to the Burr Ridge clinic, I had to pull him out of the corner he had backed into because he was scared and completely unhappy. He had no trouble getting into his carrier to go home after that. Ive already started looking at other clinics for next years visit.

Leaving disappointed. Sad to say I will not be going back. My dog was hurt while playing. He choked and was not drinking or eating. He is a lab so this was extremely concerning. They did took us in on a short notice the same day, that`s why I am putting two stars. The doctor took longer to show up that to look at my dog. 3 minute exam and they said he has nothing down his month and that was it! I had to ask for advice and help more than once on what to do if he doesnt eat or drink. They gave me coating pills for digesting. I left more scared than I was when I walked in. They said they will call the next morning to make sure he is ok. Never heard from them. Most of the personal look like they do not wanna be there. I took my dog to a different place the following day, where they took the time to actually look at him.

We have been going to Burr Ridge Vet for years, but now I want to specifically give kudos to Dr. Rooney who just helped us through challenging situation with our dog - Our dog, Bentley, had significant issues with his eye which resulted in it needing to be removed. Dr. Rooney was with us from the start of this journey and up until his follow-up visit post-surgery. Dr. Rooney was incredibly kind, caring, and patient with Bentley, my husband, and myself. In addition to his incredible demeanor in the office, he also took the time to call both my husband and I to allow us to express concerns and answer any questions we had. We are truly thankful for Dr. Rooney! I do want to add that all of the vet techs and front desk staff have been incredibly kind!

My wife and I have been taking our dog here for 5 years and theyre always on top of everything, even when shes being a mess. My wife has actually been taking all of get animals here since she was a child and swears by their work which Ive grown to fully agree with. When our rescue was new (2 weeks in) we learned that she had heart worms and they were able to successfully treat her into being worm free. A wonderful recovery has given us our furry little kid before the fleshy ones and I know that with this vet on call that shell continue to live a long and happy tail wagging life.

I was very disappointed with my old vet and decided to get my dog treated at burr ridge. We LOVED it! The new place is beautiful and they were all so friendly and extremely concerned about her. The old place couldnt treat her and wanted me to see a specialist but burr ridge was able to help. Im hoping the treatments work out great for my dogs sake and for mine. The vet we were supposed to see was absent so we saw a sub vet and she was AMAZING! She called me and sent me some more information in the mail just two days later. I just hope the regular vet will be just as amazing.

My family have been taking our cats here for over 15 years. I now have my own kitten and dont live in Darien anymore, but I still bring him there. We both love Dr. Sexton and the vet tech, and Colby Jack loves the treatment (and treats) he gets. They are very thorough, efficient and gentle. I also love that they offer a free post-adoption exam for rescues!

I bring all 3 dogs here for shots and teeth cleaning. The vet techs and vets are amazing. They are always gentle and make sure my dogs are comfortable. Would highly recommend this vet to anyone.
