When my 6 month old Boston terrier broke her leg and my regular vet told me they couldnt see her, I took her to VCA. They got me right into an exam room and within 5 minutes a Dr was examining my little girl. Within 2 days Dr. Dust was doing surgery. Her surgery was on a Friday and I received a call as soon as surgery was over with an update . I picked her up on Saturday and they once again made sure to explain everything to me. Dr Dust called on Sunday to check on her and then we received calls every couple of days for the first week or so, just to check on her. They have been amazing throughout recovery. We are now having some complications and they are being more than amazing. They call and spend as much time as you need explaining everything. They really care about the animals they see. I feel like they are treating my Trinity the same way they would if she were their own pet. I cant recommend VCA enough. If you are looking for a vet in Champaign Urbana, this is the place to go.

I have been a loyal VCA Heritage customer for over 30 years (before VCA came into the picture). All of the veterinarians at the facility are easy to work with, have the greatest of compassion for all animals and have always been willing to work on finding the most cost effective solution for treating our pets. We have had a couple of instances where the scope of the issue would be too difficult for them to treat, but the veterinarians have always helped us find a provider who could treat the pet or make the extremely difficult decision to have the animal euthanized if that was in the best interests of the animal. I recommend them to everyone I meet who has a pet. They arent the cheapest, nor are they the most expensive, but in most cases you get what you pay for. We have worked with other veterinarians, and VCA Heritage is by far the easiest to work with and seems to care more about the animals than others I have worked with.

Ive been taking all my pets here for years, and my mom took our family pets here when I was a child. It would take pages to give all the examples of how great VCA has been. We have seen every vet but usually see Dr. Sporer. She is very kind and patient and gives very clear explanations of what the options are for the pet. She is mindful of cost and goes out of her way to come up with a plan that is the best for our pets without price gouging or unnecessary tests. I have never felt pressured to do anything that seemed unreasonable. Most recently, our dog was diagnosed with cancer and had to be euthanized. The staff was very caring and happy to answer all my questions. We must have called 6 or 7 times when deciding what was right for our dog and they were very helpful. When we lived out of state we experienced how awful some vets can be and are grateful to be able to return to VCA.

Were so thrilled with this vet experience! As most people, weve struggled to find a vet that wont push unnecessary tests/procedures and who is forthright about how to prevent issues (rather than simply providing meds to fix the issue when it arises - which is quite costly). We have been going to VCA Heritage now for nearly two years, and it has been great! The office staff is helpful and supportive; we have a dog-reactive (but super human friendly) dog, and theyve been great about getting us into a room so as to avoid the waiting room awkwardness. Weve seen Dr. McElroy who has just been extraordinary. Shes very friendly, patient, honest about whats necessary and whats not, understanding about cost issues, and very welcoming. She doesnt make you feel rushed or like you cant ask questions, and you can tell that she genuinely cares about your pet.

Reply to Travis: I dont know what happened or what your experience was with Dr. Dust but I have been taking my dogs to him for years and hes always given them excellent care. Hes friendly, always takes time to explain things and answer questions, and he is thorough and knows what hes doing. There are some TERRIBLE vets in the Champaign, Urbana area who I wouldnt take my pet rock to. Ive had a couple of bad experiences with others over the years. Then I found Dr. Neitzel who was THE BEST. After he retired we started taking our dogs to Dr. Dust, who worked with Dr. Neitzel, and I have no complaints.

I have been taking my dogs to Dr Dust for many years. I have lost a few due to age, & still have 2. I have always had every confidence in the care that he provides. I first visited VCA when my golden retriever was having horrible experiences with another vet in town. She had a very bad eye condition that kept getting worse. Dr Dust cleared it up very quickly. During the times that I have lost my doggies, Dr Dust helped me tremendously in getting through the grieving process. If not for Dr Dusts exceptional care, I would not be able to have my dogs bless my life for as long as they do.

I brought my 10 week puppy in to see what was wrong. Dr. McElroy told me that my puppy needed to go to another clinic because they did not have the tools. After I took him to AEC, she called me the following day telling me that if I did not pay the $2000-$5000 in hospital costs I should euthanize my puppy. My puppy was happy and running around when she saw him. She did not even give him a chance or tell me what other options there were. If your puppy has Parvo or any serious sickness, STAY AWAY FROM HERE. She will not tell you about cheaper methods to save your puppys life.

I went through 4 vets in the champaign-urbana area, until I finally came to Dr. Dust at VCA. He was absolutely wonderful, and completely reasonable with my cat, who had gone through some pretty traumatic experiences at the other vets in town. He knew right away what was wrong with my kitty, and within a day or two, my cat was back to normal after being almost deathly ill! On top of all that wonderfulness, the staff is pleasant and kind and clearly loving to all the animals in their care. Their facilities are clean and up-to-date. Im so glad I found them!

I dont remember how long Dr. Dust has been my vet. But over many years he has cared for all my cats and dogs and their various problems. Dr. Dust always takes the time necessary to explain problems, answer questions and sensitively give advice if needed. Its a wonderful relief to know that you can trust your vet to provide your animals with the best treatment possible. I know his care has contributed to my animals happiness as well as my own. I should mention the support staff at VCA Heritage also. They are always cheerful, friendly and helpful.

I have been going to VCA for many years for both cats and dogs. I have found all the Vets ( I have used all of them) and staff very helpful. They were very sympathetic when I had to put my cat to sleep and called to make sure we were okay. They have been great with my dogs. I am probably in there every month for nail trims and they are always good at fitting us in. I really appreciate all their advice and help in caring for my pets.
