I do not normally leave any kind of reviews but, my experience at Dundee Dermatology was one of the worst. On my initial appointment, I was on time and asked to fill out paperwork as a new patient. Filled it all out in a few minutes on their ipad system which didnt strike me as the most sanitary method as I was in a Doctors office. They proceeded to wait an hour to get called back. When I did get back, I was sat in a chair and had to answer all the same questions I just filled out on the ipad. One of the questions was what town I was from? Really? Anyway, after several minutes of wasting more time answering the same questions, the Dr. finally came in. After an extremely brief exam of the cyst I was there to have looked at that had been getting steadily worse for several weeks, and told me to come back in two weeks. I asked if he was kidding and told him how long it had been getting worse and how long I had just waited and his response was he couldnt help that, he just worked there and he didnt run the place. I asked what more could be done and he said be could biopsy it but, it would leave a small scar. I had to convince him that I wanted it checked out and he finally said OK. Did the biopsy and a few tiny stiches and he said I would see results in 7-10 days. Scheduled quick follow up in a week to remove the sutures and he promised I would be in and out because was so simple. He called me 2 days later and explained it was indeed a cyst and to ask for a specific sample medication when I returned to have sutures removed. Went to have sutures removed, again showing up there on time, and proceeded to wait again for another 25 minutes before being called back. I was the only patient there and could see at least 6 people moving around. The receptionist was busy training another person and I had to ask when I would be seen and was told, right away and then waited again. Get called back and no doctors there, just a tech to remove the sutures. She knew nothing about the sample I was supposed to get and thankfully I had wrote it down so I could ask for what the Dr. said to get. They had no sample but, they could get me a prescription for it. There was no courtesy for my time and tech told me they were busy with call backs. I guess that is more important than the only patient there. I asked for someone to talk to so I could voice my concerns and when the tech went to get her, she returned with a business card and asked if I wanted to call her or if she should call me. I asked for her to call me and no call. She was obviously to busy to speak to a patient. My wife and my family will not return to this practice and I do not recommend you do either. Not if you want to be respected or have your time respected.

Its very unfortunate as Dr Getz is a fine and experienced medical professional, but I simply cannot allow how his practice operates to go without comment to the general public. Three times in the past year (every appointment I had in fact) I had to wait a minimum of 30 minutes past my scheduled time in the outside waiting area. When called back to wait in an actual room, I then waited a minimum of another 20 minutes. Not one of the office staff ever confronted or acknowledged the extraordinary wait time. They seems complacent to allow the patients to wait without any knowledge of when they will see the doctor, even though there is an agreed upon appointment scheduled. Why do we even make appointments if they are never met on time or with any sympathy from the administrative team. Days after each appointment I was sent an email feedback survey where I expressed these same issues. These appear to have a goal of making me feel better rather than affect any change with how the office operates. So now I must publicly renounce this medical practice and its employees. They obviously have no care for their patients past their opportunity to claim a check for services rendered. If you are reading this remember that this is YOUR time and YOUR money. You have a choice and can choose to take your business elsewhere. Please, stand up for yourself and let these doctors know that we have a choice. Its the only way we can help them change. UPDATE 7-July-2015: I stand by my disappointment at how patients at Dundee Dermatology are treated. The doctors are very good, but expect to wait close to an hour after your agreed upon appointment time. I have found a new dermatologist in South Barrington and had an excellent experience so far. Total extended wait time: 5 minutes after scheduled appointment! Yea! There are doctors who care about their patients practical well-being!

Ive been a patient of Dr Getz for going on probably 15 years now, and I have always had a fantastic experience here! I first got started when biologics were nascent, and the dermatologist that I had wouldnt prescribe anything new and cutting edge for my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. She referred me to Dr Getz, and boy am I glad that she did. The old dermatologist would barely spend 30 seconds in the room with me, and wouldnt usually even look me in the face. I was impressed with the friendliness of the office at Dundee Dermatology, and with Dr Getz manner and intelligence. Unlike the old dermatologist, Dr Getz spent time talking to me, and answering all of my questions, and never made me feel stupid for asking questions. The other benefit of the office is that they participate in many clinical trials, and I was able to not only get free medicine via the trial, but I was also paid for my time, which was a fantastic opportunity for a then college student. Fast forward to 15ish years later, and I have been through pharmacy school and I still travel 40 minutes to see the guy, because hes THAT GOOD. From a professional standpoint, hes still very cutting edge, he keeps up with his knowledge to the point where he knows much more about dermatological medications than I do, and Im always learning from him when I visit, which I appreciate very much. Do yourself a favor and come here. Maybe youll have to wait a bit, and I can understand that may be a hassle for some people, and possibly off putting. I still give the guy 5 stars, and Id give him 6 if I could. If you want a dermatologist that is professional, courteous and can help you in a way that will maximize your treatment outcome, visit Dundee Dermatology.

I wish I could have this medical practice as my primary care practice! Im a patient of Dr. Getz. Since March of 2015 I have been going there every 2 weeks for treatment for moderate to severe psoriasis (which includes psoriatic arthritis). There have only been a couple of longer than expected visits. One because I messed up but, fortunately I live close and was able to come back so I didnt screw up the schedule for everyone after me. Another time it was because another patient messed up the schedule for everyone else. I dont see Dr. Getz every time I am there but I do see Joanne Hawkins RN, and Practice Administrator. She is kind, meticulous, efficient and very thorough. I have interacted with most of the staff also. Reception, nurses, medical assistants and of course Dr. Getz. They are all kind but also very professional. Oh, and my skin is clear and under control! Now I wish I could find a primary care like this practice. P.S. I just looked through the other reviews and find it interesting that all but 3 of them are 5 star and the ones that arent are 1 star. The tones of the 1 star reviews sound petulant. I have decided to disregard them.
