Ive had Type 1 diabetes for 18 years now (diagnosed at age 5) I used to dread 3 month diabetes check ups at the family doctor clinic because it was nearly impossible to get an appointment and it took forever to even see the doctor. I have been seeing Dr. Frey for a little over a year and have nothing but good things to say about my experience with this office. Ive never waited longer than 15 minutes to see the doctor. I especially like the way he explains my lab results and speaks to me on a personal level rather than being condescending about what Im doing wrong to manage my diabetes. I have come to actually enjoy my visits because I feel positive about diabetes management after leaving an appointment. So glad to finally have an awesome endocrinologist in Thibodaux!

He doesnt seem very interested in treating me since my total thyroidectomy and left neck dissection this past may. My last visit he barely spent 10 minutes with me. It was the first time I actually didnt feel comfortable with him. It has also become extremely difficult to schedule an appointment with him. I feel like I can not express my concerns to him and I surely do not think he is willing to treat me beyond my numbers. For example, my 3 month check up post-op the only thyroid lab he is ordering is TSH. That is very disconcerting and makes me think I am now just a number and no longer a patient. I am so disappointed in Dr. Frey. I had such high hopes when I began seeing him in 2015. Maybe thyroid issues just arent his specialty.
