I have been a Smart Eye care patient for years. Up until recently, I have felt like a family member there. The atmosphere was calm, warm and friendly. I always felt well taken care of when leaving my appointments. In the last few months I have been in for numerous visits and I have noticed a change in the atmosphere. It now seems like there are more people and less employees to satisfy needs. When in the office, it is chaotic and loud and the patient care is rushed. I had called several times to order my contact lenses and decided, after speaking to three different ladies to just go in to order them when I received no return calls as promised. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly by an employee whos name was Renee. She was friendly, knowledgeable and immediately apologized for my lack of return phone calls. She answered several questions about my contact lens order to insurance coverage. I recently had an insurances change and she knew my coverage just from knowing where I worked. During my wait to pick up my contact lenses days later, I saw this same employee helping others waiting long periods of time to have adjustments with their glasses, while juggling all of the other responsibilities at her own work station. While I was exhausted just watching her, before I left I told her how valuable she must be to a company with such a recent high volume and what seems to be way less staff than they need. Im disappointed with the recent lack of care, I am not sure I will be returning for my eye care needs. I do sure hope that employees like herself are well taken care of because she made all of the difference in my recent visits.

Dr. Smart was so rude to me and my child, telling me I should have gotten a sitter amongst other comments, and demanding him to do things/or not to do. I felt very uncomfortable/stressed and rushed out of there. I get to the front desk ready to pay in hopes of leaving immediately after that scenario, to wait 15 minutes because something just wasnt right with the paperwork. I go to pay and am told I need an extra $35 for a lense eval. On top of my $170 that I was charged for you know..being with the doctor for all of 15 minutes. I called to make sure of what I would be charged prior to the appointment so I knew I could cover this comfortably..and was told $170. If it wasnt for a couple very friendly and helpful staff in that building, I would have felt completely defeated. Id reccomend maybe another eye care professional with some PROFESSIONALISM.

I recently had specialty care in Boston and my regular local doc knew nothing about it and was not interested in learning. I called these people, got right in and Dr. Quint knew all about it. She did exactly what was needed. Everyone there was kind, courteous and COMPETENT!!! I have been in the medical profession for decades and have had many different eye providers. This practice is outstanding and I highly recommend it. I wont go anywhere else.

Tore a lens on vacation. Called and went to 3 different places. They all either wouldnt or couldnt help. Smart EyeCare was sympathetic and helpful. They were fast and efficient. Once they got my prescription from my eye doctor they gave me a sample immediately. If I lived in Augusta year round its the ONLY place I would go.

Thank you thank you! You saved me! I broke my glasses last night and by 10am today I had a brand new pair! I literally cannot see without them. They were friendly, efficient and professional. They also took my insurance and got me into a nice pair of glasses. I will be back! Highly recommended!

I was so impressed with the service! I was greeted by a very welcoming woman, was taking into the room within 5 min and wasnt left waiting for the doctor for more than 5 min. This is how a patient should be treated!
