First time that we went there we were very happy that we had found a caring vet that was fairly affordable with the coupon that we printed off the website for savings off the first visit, then we had an emergency for our older dog where he sliced his paw and they were FABULOUS! Then e had an emergency situation with my Boxer puppy in May on a Friday night - I called and paged the person on call hysterical because My pup was just over 1 yr & he is my baby, & his penis was stuck OUT- LIKE BAD! When I looked online I saw that this could become very severe if it goes longer then 1 + hour etc and may require surgury!! SO the person that called me back was AWESOME she said that we needed to pour sugar water on him until the swelling went "down" & the red rocket went back where it should be!! She told me to do this for at least 40-45 mins - then to PAGE her back and give her an update! SO, we did it wasnt easy because my Pa wasnt impressed at all being held down & pouring water on his boy part. I get that the worse thing I could have done is look it up online but I was FREAKING OUT so after 45++ minutes the things wasnt going ANYWHERE! I called back the pager like a MADMAN with no response!!!! I was so upset that I called my nother who lived out of state, and she suggested to take him into the Warren Ave emergency vet- and spend what $80,000. when I already HAD a vet that told me what to do- AND told me to call her back with an UPDATE!! Needless to say approx 1.5 hours later, when I was about ready to put him in the car and take him elsewhere, it started to go away & went back to normal! My main issue with the situation is the obvious WE DIDNT GET A CALL BACK WHEN WE PAGED THE EMERGENCY NUMBER!!! THE VET that I spoke to never even called to check on us after she told us to BE SURE TO CALL HER BACK IN 45 MINS!!! I didnt get a call back until 7:20 the NEXT morning!! I was SOOO angry!! After, the vet realized that there was at least 5 times that I had paged the on call number she called me a few times the next week, I never returned her call, I know I should hav, but I was SO upset! I swore I wouldnt go back to that office but we really did like the office when we were there, in the event that the situation had turned out worse and I had to bring my puppy into another clinic then I would have let them have it!! But he was OK, we are all human but when you run a business it is NOT OK to have an emergency number and NOT return calls to a PAGER that is there for such a reason! Over all I am sure that we will go back to the office for my boys shots that are coming up, and I will mention this to the vet when we do. I think that Dr DeMeuse is a caring vet and I really liked her but the situation that we went thru wasnt acceptable what SO ever!! It was embarrassing enough to call about my puppy having a RED ROCKET attack but, to be in such a situation with NO CLUE what to do & not have the reassurance from the trusted professional you confide in was upsetting to say the least!

We went and visited these little guys a couple weeks ago, and even picked one out. We submitted the paperwork and provided whatever vet records we had for our current cat. We even went to our vet and got them to print every appointment record we were missing. Tender Touch told us that the records werent good enough and that we needed written records, but the vet couldnt provide them and it was literally everything we had. I think its unfortunate we werent able to adopt just because we didnt have a particular records for our current cat. I understand the desire to make sure these little guys go to great homes, but I thought this process was a bit excessive. We had proof of appointments, and we give our cat EVERYTHING he could ever need and more - hes spoiled rotten and Im disappointed we couldnt do that for one of these babies. We are lucky enough to have adopted a new furbaby from another shelter today, it was convenient yet thorough and were very happy. Just offering this feedback, as in the end, these little guys need homes, and not having the exact right kind of vet record shouldnt be a reason they cant have one.

I love Tender Touch! Both vets and all the staff care deeply about animals and take the extra time to educate me, the human caretaker, on how to take care of my little loved ones. The fact that they have weekend hours is a great bonus! They run specials and clinics to try to help reduce expenses. Whenever Ive called in with an emergency (and there have been several instances since I have 4 dogs), The staff has been accommodating and fast moving. I credit them with saving the life of one of my dogs who ate a poisonous plant. The Tender Touch staff focuses on the wellbeing of the animal. That sometimes mean that I need to listen to advice that I may not want to hear, such as I need to do a better job at brushing their teeth! I would rather have a vet that has the best interest of my 4-legged loved ones in mind and puts them first versus a vet who puts me, the human, first!

Ive only taken my cat, Mona, once to Dr. Rita, but immediately upon meeting Dr. Rita I felt comfortable & reassured that I had picked the perfect Vet for my Cat. Now, I have just rescued another cat, Morgan, and have an appointment set up for later this month for his checkup and am looking forward to seeing Dr. Rita again & introducing her to Morgan. She is very knowledgeable & very easy to talk with and looks at every aspect of your animals life to help diagnosis. My new cat, Morgan, has a lot of emotional baggage carried over from the awful conditions of his last home. Im hopeful that Dr. Rita will have some insight into helping me work with Morgan to reassure him that he is finally in a safe place & that no harm will come to him!

Ive had 3 cats spayed there at their Groovy Tuesday clinic, and all of them healed beautifully, in and home in a single day, for the best price in Cumberland County I think. Good people and professional care. Just got boosters for the two that I have now at the Sunday clinic, and I must say that was a very long wait. We arrived at 10 and left about 12:30, for a small savings on 2 shots, but if you want several procedures or have several animals or both it is probably worth the wait. Many dog owners waited outside. Bring a deck of cards and a pizza, itll be fun (just kidding). But I shouldve brought a book to read.

I visited the vet today to put down my 17 year old cat, Kitten. The experience worse then expected. Everything was alright until we met the vet, a woman who simply tried to make us feel guilty about what we should have done for our cat rather then help us reach a place of comfort with his death. Kitten was ready to go but the vet thought we should keep him going he hadnt been eating for days and couldnt move much I feel this was inhumane. She agreed to euthanize but not until she had given us an earful. The cost? 180 dollars... I cant even. It was 50 dollars just for her to tell us what we had "done wrong".
