Patient First - Aberdeen is an urgent care center located at 995 Hospitality Way, Aberdeen, MD 21001, USA. The facility has a rating of 2.8. The center seems to be a mixed bag, with some patients praising the speed and efficiency of the service, while others criticize the quality of medical care and billing practices.
Several reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of medical care received. One patient mentioned that despite having diabetes, no foot examination was conducted, which is considered basic in diabetic care. Another patient was misdiagnosed twice by two different doctors for a MRSA infection.
The staff's professionalism also received mixed reviews. While some patients appreciated the kindness and professionalism of the lab techs and certain doctors, others found the nursing staff to be rude and unprofessional. One reviewer even mentioned witnessing nurses arguing over who had more patients, calling it "unprofessional."
Billing practices at Patient First - Aberdeen have also been a point of contention. Some reviewers mentioned receiving "past due" bills and were unhappy with the lack of transparency regarding after-hour charges. One patient was particularly frustrated after being billed for an after-hour visit without prior notice.
Patients had varying experiences with the medications prescribed. One reviewer was unhappy with being prescribed Amoxicillin instead of Augmentin, which had worked for them in the past. Another mentioned that the center is quick to refer patients to specialists rather than offering treatments a regular doctor would propose.
The waiting time seems to be reasonable for most patients. One reviewer mentioned that despite a full waiting room, the time from entering to leaving the facility was quicker than their regular doctor's office.
Based on the reviews, Patient First - Aberdeen seems to be more suitable for minor ailments like colds or broken fingers rather than complex medical issues. Some patients recommend sticking with a private doctor for ongoing health issues and complex medical needs.

One star awarded because the place is clean and the reception area employees and techs/nurses in the back are nice. Went there for a physical and with the exception of a few pokes in the gut (my stomach had been bothering me) was not touched or checked in any other way. I have diabetes and there was no foot examination. Which is Medicine 101 when it comes to diabetes. My ears have been ringing as well and the doctor didnt look in them nor even ask about it. Didnt even check my breathing or anything else youd associate with a physical. Didnt go anywhere near my bottom half to check for hernia or my prostate. Yet I was required to strip down and put on a hospital gown?? Why? I wish I had checked the other one star reviews. I would have seen that this type of non- physical is what Dr Mendoza does. Oh, they did take my blood, so at least the phlebotomist and lab people are doing the jobs theyre paid to do. I made the mistake of thinking I could use this facility as a primary healthcare place, but as I have an ongoing health issue, I shouldve stuck with a private doctor. These people were quick to pawn me off onto specialists rather than offer any recommendations or treatments a regular doctor would at least propose. This place is great if you have a cold or maybe a broken finger. Anything involving actual medicine, consultations etc, please steer clear.

I went to Patient First Care for a sinus infection. I had drainage coming from my eyes and sore throat. I was seen by a P.A Tracy Lazarony. Very nice however I have been coming there for over ten years and seen by Dr. Oliver Thresher. I had been there in February 2013 and seen by Dr. Mendoza. Tracy advised there was no medical records for me and filled a chart out on the screen on my history. Did not understand this. I informed her that I have always been prescribed Augumentim for my sinus infections by Thresher and it always worked. I advised her I was going out of town but she prescribed Amoxicillin for me. She told me if it did not get better come back in two days. Well it did not work and who has the time to come back in two days. She does not like to prescribe heavy potent medications. She prescribed drops for my eyes. So now I am in Aruba and have to go to the doctors here due to the infection still being present after completing my ten days. My visit was 9/15 at Patient First Care. I have always been happy with my care here but I will never visit this P.A. again. I am still sick and she should have given the medicine that has always worked for me. She does not believe in giving heavy medications but believes you should just come back. So who pays for my doctors and medications while I am in Aruba. Very unhappy with this expierence!

Ridiculous! I was misdiagnosed twice by two different doctors. I had MRSA, but they said it was a small infection. The first doctor didnt even get close enough to really look, as he just wanted to go home for the night, and the other lady, I think she was a PA, did not even look. She just looked at the notes on file. It took me going to my moms house in a different state to get a correct diagnosis. The last time I was in there, nurses were arguing over who had more patients and who was next to get one. So unprofessional! Then their billing department is a joke. I have gotten "past due" bills almost every single time. At first they tried to say its how it fell in the billing cycle as to where my service date was (pathetic) and now they try and tell me they mailed bills. Thing is, I pay my bills, so I would not ignore anything. Im off to file with the BBB. I am done with this place. Its a joke.

I have never had a bad experience at this location until tonight. I bring my 5yr old in for what I believe her to have is strep throat. Its 10:00 pm when we are leaving Patient First the docotor prescribes a RX that they arent able to fill and then calls the RX into a pharmacy that is closed and of coarse when you try to call patient first back they do not answer because they are also closed even though when he handed me my forms he tells me here is our number if you or the pharmacy has any problem. So I have to drive to another pharmacy which is even further away from my home for them to tell me that RX may not be covered because it was called into another pharmacy. Very aggrivating having your sick child out this late, when the doctor at patient first could have prescribed a different RX that was able to be filled at that time of night.!

I went to patient first on a Saturday evening. No where on their ad does it say you will be charged for an after hours visit for weekends or anytime after 5pm. They state that the are open 365 days a year and their hours. I had no idea I was getting billed an after hour visit until my insurance company denied payment for that service. I work in the allied health field so I am aware that I did sign paperwork that I would be responsible for anything my insurance does not cover, but it would have been nice if I was given an itemized statement before I left for what was being billed to my insurance co. I figure the next time I have an emergency I better make sure not on the weekend or after 5pm.

My regular doctor was unable to see me and recommended Patient First. Although the waiting room was full I felt the time from entering the facilty and leaving the facility was very quick. Actually speedier than when I go to my own doctor. All of the staff was excellent. I liked the fact that they sent a report to my regular physician. Jason Tharpe PAC was great. He explained my diagnosis thoroughly, gave me my treatment options, and answered my questions . I would highly recommend Patient First in Aberdeen MD to anyone that is in need. Other family members have been seen over the years and have had the same experience.

I have been to Pt. First several times over the last year. My husband and I love Dr. Kinzinger. I have worked with many doctors in my career as a Registered Nurse and he is great, really listens, etc. The lab tech named Linda was very professional and kind - always appreciated attitude. HOWEVER, today I went in for lab work, and a few other things and was very disappointed with the on duty RN (did not get her name yet) and MA (Kristin). Both were very rude and unprofessional. I intend to report this to the Patient First administration staff with more details.

The last 2 times I took my wife here they misdiagnosed. Most recent was this past Saturday night. She told them she had previously had seasonal asthma and needed an inhaler. Instead x-rays taken and a diagnosis of pneumonia. Sent home with 2 prescriptions. We got a phone call on Sunday saying that there was no pneumonia and asking her to come back in. Seriously? She waited until Monday and saw her physician. She diagnosed seasonal asthma and treated her accordingly. Thanks for nothing Patient First......AGAIN!
