I can only speak for my experience, but I was extremely pleased with the care recieved at Animal Medical Center of Bel Air. My black lab, Julie and her sister, Zooey, pushed a picket off our fence and went "adventuring" through the neighborhood. When my husband found them, Julie was limping. From what we gather, she took a terrible fall while running. Prior to this visit, we had only been to this vet for routine check-up and medications for their arthritis. The X-ray revealed a traumatic fracture of her left leg. After Dr. Chaudhry reviewed the X-ray with us, he explained the injury, her proposed treatment plan and her best outcome. Julie was put on the schedule for surgery. Dr. Pooya, the surgeon, on the morning of the surgery, also reviewed the X-Ray with me and explained what he anticipated doing during the operation. (We knew this might not be a one-surgery situation due to her age.). Unfortunately, during her surgery, they found her wrist was shattered. Dr. Pooya inserted a small rod and stabilized the bones in her wrist. Once her wrist improves, a second rod will be put in near her radius. Both Dr Chaudhry and Dr. Pooya gave us very specific, detailed instructions about her home care. We were able to ask any questions. I never doubted for a moment that each wanted her to have a good outcome...not just for Julie and us, but so she can stay around for her litter-mate, (and partner-in-crime!), Zooey. I also had a heart-to-heart talk with Dr. Chaundry about my requests. I told him that I wanted complete candor re: her prognosis while she is healing. In other words, if it looks like the damage is such that she cant heal, I want him to be honest with me so I dont put her through any unneeded treatment/discomfort. He assured me that he would do so. Dr. Pooya gave us his cell phone number and encouraged us to call about any post-surgical problem. The first night was a loooong one. Julie wouldnt sleep and whimpered through the night. She struggled with her cast when taken outside to potty. I called Dr. Pooya at 6:00am and left a message. He returned my call within 20 minutes. The receptionist from Animal Medical Center called with Dr. Chaudhry on the line. They wanted to help. I took Julie in, and they monitored her all day and overnight. They changed her bandage and helped her learn how to walk on grass with the splint. Finally, she slept. When I picked her up, she was doing so much better! Now...I want to tell you about the remainder of the staff. Probably some of the most caring individuals youd ever meet! Theres Molly and Gi-GI, both whom took turns spending their break/free time sitting on the floor by Julies cage to talk to her, pet her and comfort her. Carlie, Lani and Nina also helped with her treatments/bandaged her leg. Then theres Adam, whom lifted my 80-pound dog like she was a feather, and gently placed her in my car. Lynn, one of the receptionists, never keeps us on "hold", always works us in for an appointment, explains the invoices and helped us get the information we needed to file our pet insurance forms. You can pay a clinic for care, but you cant pay them TO care. These are genuinely compassionate folks. As far as the cost, I can only compare them to two other vet clinics in our previous state of residence. Animal Medical Center is much more reasonably priced than either of them. Additionally, it was Lynn, their receptionist, that gave us brochures on several pet insurance plans. Thankfully, we bought into one months ago and it, after a deductible, will cover 60 percent of the cost. Just for the record, we are not family members, nor are we personal friends of any one associated with their office. This is just my opinion as a customer. Donna Matney Bel Air, MD

I originally came to Animal Medical Center of Bel Air for a second opinion because Dr. Ezra practices Holistic medicine. My dog is fear reactive and has not enjoyed his visits to our regular vet. I made the staff aware of this before I came for the visit. They knew just how to handle the situation and although he was still anxious, within 20 minutes he was eating treats out of their hands and was much more relaxed. The follow up visit was even better. He did not bark when the vet tech or doc entered the room and was very relaxed with the whole situation. Animal Medical Center of Bel Air will now be his regular vet. My main concern is his well being and that is obviously their concern as well. I just love them!

If you want to get ripped off go here! This vet is significantly more expensive than other vets we have been to. We recently moved to Bel Air from the city and wanted to find a vet we could trust. They are extremely overpriced and dont seem to care about it. We were told it would be $30 for 6 allergy pills or $85 for 30 pills (how does that even make sense?!) when we can get the same pills but 50 of them for $85 at our vet in the city. Their reasoning - the price went up. Why didnt it go up at the other vet that we have been going to for over a year? We will not be coming back to this vet, will tell friends to not go here, and will continue to drive to the city to the vet we can trust.

Took my beloved dog for the first time today for vaccine update and regular health check up and was very impressed with the kindness of the staff. They accommodated my two rambunctious children and still had energy left to dote on our attention-loving 9 year old dog. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered an affordable preventative supplement for my dogs arthritis which at prior offices was only offered pain treatments. The doctor and tech were both very knowledgable, attentive, and focused on my pets care.

Our experience with Dr. Chaudry was so horrible. His lack of knowledge cost us thousands of dollars in an attempt to save our 5 year old lab from a deadly infection contracted during surgery at AMC. I could go in to detail, but the other specialists that tried to save our dog were extremely concerned with the lack of care our dog received. Our sweet lab died of acutekidney failure as his body became septic because of the infection.

The worst experience with a vet so far. The highest priced vet in the state of Maryland. They over charge for everything including meds that are twice as much than other vets, and a $46 -5 minute follow up appointment that was not a check up but just a quick discussion. We will never go here again and I would highly recommend that you dont get ripped off multiple times like we did!

This animal hospital is both a state of the art facility and a small town "family owned" business at the same time. The staff are wonderful and so attentive to anything clients may needs. The services are spot on and reasonably priced. The veterinarians and their support staff are always available for any advice. I highly recommend the underwater treadmill. My dog just loves it!

I took a dog here that I had as a foster through a rescus - Dr.Esra was so wonderful!!! She not only provided wonderful care, but also helped the rescue greatly - something that was not expected! She will be my go-to for any needs of fosters, and for my own animals. Hospital is also AAHA certified - VERY rare in this area!
